  1. Have not had a chance to look at this yet. I will, my temp fix was to setup a VM and run everything thru a slim Ubuntu install which has worked but isn't optimal.
  2. I read a post elsewhere of someone looking to modify parts of that file who said unRAIDs docker behaves abnormally if you add the file to the normal directory.
  3. After much digging, the directory permission for the grafana directory needs to be updated. either go in and chmod it or just use the file tool for the share and change the permissions. After that everything worked fine.
  4. Greetings, I've been working on adding loki, promtail, and grafana to my server to aggregate logging across the server as well as multiple other devices around my homelab. The driver was added successfully but now I'm trying to locate daemon.json to add the code referenced at https://grafana.com/docs/loki/latest/clients/docker-driver/configuration/ but its not in that location and I ran a system wide find and still couldn't locate it. Could someone please point me towards it or is a different file being used?
  5. Need some assistance with Grafana please. I've been trying to install all day. Installing is successful with no reported issues. Appdata directory is created but empty. It doesn't start. When I try to manually start it its going right back to stopped without much delay. I checked the log and something flashes by but then the window immediately closes. There isn't enough time to screengrab it. I've tried installing/reinstalling, wiping the data from the previous installs. I did install loki and promtail earlier but I can't find anywhere saying that would be an issue. What are your thoughts on where I could check next? 6. Did you pull the log on Unraid when you tried to start it? If so see what the error messages are. That would likely help identify the issue.
  7. Please point me to where the device profiles within this release are. Unfortunately, I need help finding them based on the plex documentation.
  8. Disregard please. Problem rectified switching from OpenVPN to Wireguard.
  9. Is there a recommended process to determine why speed degradation is occurring? I'm using PIA and as best I can tell port forwarding is working. I had Sab running on windows previously with the same vpn and server and was averaging north of 60MB/s. Now it seems like its 10-20MB/s and I'm not sure where the issue is.
  10. As a follow-up this issue has been corrected with the release of 6.10. Thank you.
  11. I'm asking if UnRaid itself requires a GPU to operate.
  12. I'm trying to run a windows 10/11 VM on UnRaid. When I select the GPU and its associated sound card to pass thru and then attempt to boot the system locks up. I'm curious since its a 5950x with no onboard video or other card installed does there still need to be a GPU accessible to Unraid for unraid to function? The VBios is good since I ripped it directly from the card and I started with a very basic win 11 in VNC which booted perfectly fine then added the GPU and now its an instant lockup.
  13. Greetings. I'd jumped off unraid for little over a year as I was having some issues with some VMs I wanted to run. Figured I'd give it another go with some of the updates. I put together a fresh install on an old system I used to run unraid on. After booting and selecting GUI the system loads but presents a blank screen instead of the expected gui. I am sure its loading because I can Ctrl Alt F1 to the login and move around as root at the command line. System specs CPU - Ryzen 5950x Mobo - Asus X570 Crosshair VIII Memory: 4x16gb 3200mhz corsair vengeance Graphics*(This is the only new piece of hardware since I last had Unraid working) - EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra LHR Storage: 2x 1tb M.2 NVMEs, 1x 2tb SSD, 4 drives combined into 2 Raid 0 pairs at the bios level. Expansion: 1x USB controller for added USB ports, 1x Firewire card Unraid version: 6.9.2 Attempted fixes 1. I tried a nomodeset appended to the end of the boot line for the gui boot. I found this on a reddit post that linked to a post here. 2. I tried playing around with drivers but was not sure what to do here as the only references I found were regarding Intel and AMD 3. Updated bios settings to ensure required settings were on 4. Switching from UEFI to legacy boot. This worked and the GUI appeared So ultimately my question is can anyone provide advice on what the conflict could be if UEFI provides no video and legacy does? This is way outside my level of expertise so I'm not even sure what to play with.
  14. Is it possible to load this to command prompt using JsDos? I'm looking for an alternative environment that I can using like DosBox on my unraid server.
  15. Ok, threw some additional time at this to try some fresh installs TLDR; I couldn't get a fresh install to work Details I used installer 1.6 and decided I'd do a little trouble shooting and start with 6.7.2 just to see if upgrading was breaking the system. Attempted boot in UEFI and Legacy. Both attempted resulted in the same unraid logo screen with no login option From there I attempted to install 6.8. Same USB, it kept giving me errors about the USB being locked but only when trying to install 6.8. All the other versions worked fine. I manually installed thru diskpart in win10. Booted again with UEFI and Legacy and again same issue with no login option. At this point I'm about at capacity with time invested. I think I'm going to put my 6700k rig back together and work the server from there for a few months till this hopefully is sorted.
  16. There was no change. Afterwards I gave up on getting the existing version running and figured from a time perspective I would be better off just using my backup. My backup was pre-vm so that wouldn't be an issue. I rebuilt the flash drive I think 6.7.2 and booted up. Success! Login screen. Ran through all the updates for the dockers/plugins. Upgraded to 6.8. Poof! Dead again. I'm going to rebuild my old workstation/gaming rig I was replacing with this build and test it on it over the next couple days if possible. Its running a 6700k so I want to see if that gives me any issues. Right now I suspect its Ryzen 3000 and/or RX 5700 that is breaking it and its something in the 6.8 update because I had the original 6.8 I started the post with running perfectly on a Xeon 1225 V5 with no issues, freezes, or crashes.
  17. Back a couple weeks ago (had some life issues in between) I started having some freezing issues with unraid on boot. I attributed it to a VM I'd setup with a passthru VC that was causing problems. I recently upgraded to a 3rd gen Ryzen and a 5700 XT. I've been playing around for a couple days and have been unable to get it to boot where I can get into the GUI (server isn't loading to the network) to try to fix things. I made a couple posts in various groups but didn't get anywhere so I pulled out my backup from Oct redid my USB and tossed it in. It worked and booted me into unraid. The backup was prior to the VM so that issue doesn't exist now. My first step was to upgrade to the new stable that came out since the backup. When I rebooted from the update I'm now frozen again with a screen that just says Unraid with no login gui even though I selected GUI from the boot menu. I rebooted 2 additional times to see if it was a coincidence but still the same prob So, I'm wondering the following 1. Is there a boot log anywhere so I can try to track where its breaking down? 2. Are there any known breakdowns with 3rd gen Ryzen for the new stable? 3. Anything I should be looking at that I don't seem to be thinking of? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8bjbfczs70s9sos/AADpDQjd7EdVW2s6_dJXUYAYa?dl=0 Hardware Profile -CPU - Ryzen 9 3950x -VC - RX 5700 XT Sapphire Nitro+ -Mobo - Asus Crosshair VIII Hero X570 -Mem 64gb Corsair 4x16gb Drives: 6 Mechanical western digital drives that were all functional prior to the issue 5 were part of my array and 1 was a spare drive for the windows VM 1 NVME that is a win 10 boot drive 1 Samsung 860 SSD 1 Sandisk Ultra Fit 32GB USB bootdrive for unraid
