@Josh.5 Can you access this container outside your local network?  I have a piece of software on steam that I'd like to reverse proxy to use at work during down time.

I recommend setting up a VPN for this.

Yeah can't do that and access it from work.  Was hoping for a reverse proxy solution.  Thanks.

I would like to setup a 7D2D docker on my unraid server using the latest experimental build.

    under ports I'm seeing

    TCP2 - Web base control: 8080

    TCP3 - Web Panel: 8082

8080 is already being used by sabnzb and 8082 was configured for qbittorrentvpn so that it wouldn't conflict with sabnzb.

In order to get the qbittorrentvpn webui to work I had to delete Host Port 3, readd Host Port 3 (changing both the host and container port) and then add the variable WEBUI_PORT 8082

I will not be routing 7D2D through the VPN

What changes will I need to make to the 7d2d docker for it to be configured correctly?

Can I simply change the host ports for 8080 and 8082 to something else or will I need to delete those ports and readd them so that it also changes the container port?

Will I need to add any additional variables to the docker like I had to for qbittorrent?

    Thank you.

So 8080 is telnet and 8082 is the web control panel.  If you aren't using them, then you don't need them.  I never use the default ports for those anyway.  If you need them, just delete them in settings and readd them using the port(s) you want to use, changing the container port to your new port.  Unless your using Alloc's map and CPM you won't need any other ports, besides the game ports tcp/udp.

Any update or fix? I'm still struggling with mine. Thinking about moving back over to Let's Encrypt docker.

I've gotten another cert to go through but still don't know why that previous one didn't.  As you can see no one has responded.  I almost think this is a dead thread...

  4. Greetings.  I am in need of some help.  I am trying to get a cert through NPM, but I keep getting an internal error.  the log shows the following:

    [12/3/2021] [4:02:23 PM] [Nginx ] › ℹ info Reloading Nginx

Another instance of Certbot is already running.
Ask for help or search for solutions at https://community.letsencrypt.org. See the logfile /tmp/tmphxj6981l/log or re-run Certbot with -v for more details.

I've got no idea why this is happening, any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Yes, had done that only way to change the container port portion of the value. Still no luck.

Just redid those values to match your ports if for some odd reason 2460-2462 was taken but, no change.

Have you tried removing that instance fully, ie delete directory and starting from scratch?

Didn't re-add game_port just edited the port to match the new ones that were entered after deleting the default values.

I've tried with keeping the container port at default 2456, with new host, and with container/host ports set to the 2060 ones with no luck.

You need to actually delete aka remove, and then readd it.  you can't just change the port numbers because the container port will still have the default ones and not use the new ones that you entered.

Was  one of the first things I had tried. Still continues to loop.

Thinking it's to do with the game ports which is the only thing that's really changed.

Defaults are already in use though

Im running 3 servers all with different ports. when you changed the ports you actually removed the default and readded them, as well as the variable GAME_PORT? you just didnt change the numbers around?

Only settings different from default are game port range (2460-2462), game port(2460) and folder location for server files.

The installer metions no need to change/add a second steamcmd directory.

Can you post the config for this container?

Lol, It turns out it wasn't the save at all. It was the VH+ config which I didn't fully read over. Apparently you need to have that mod on all the clients as well and I was enforcing it to reject clients without it.

Yeah, the VH+ dev stated that it needs to be the same config both server and client side, glad you figured it out!

  11. Just a note on the Valheim container.  I've been using it since February 5th and have yet to have an issue save for getting the server to update on the 9th, that was a steam issue not a container issue.  I am currently running 3 instances of the container, running the 62 minute backups and having 0 issues.

    1. It works

    2. Make sure your ports are forwarded correctly.

    3. Check your GAME_PORT if you are having problems connecting via IP

    4. It is not a container problem that your server is not showing up in the in game server browser, that's a Valheim issue.  Some times it takes 5 minutes or so to show up.  You can click join game, community and use the filter to find your server.  The server browser is limited to approximately 5000 servers, the game has sold 4 million copies, do the math.
    5.  Search this thread for previous Valheim issues, more than likely its happened and been solved.  Poor @ich777 has around 40 containers he's supporting.

    6.  Valheim is in an alpha state, which mean, it will break, there will be glitches, devs will get to them when they deem they need too.  The game is 23 days old.

Thank you for coming to my Spectral talk.

Thanks for the reply (and docker).

No, it's not necessary to run the map generator to play, but it is necessary if you want to play a fully random map. That was my goal ... large random map that my friends could explore with a server that keeps running even between logins.

It's 7 hours later and it's still running so I'm going to reinstall, get it working default, then generate the map on my gaming PC, and see if I can find a way to move it to the Docker.

I'm late to the party, but is this for 7DTD?  The map has an issue generating on linux.  You can generate on your pc and upload it to the appdata/7dtd, or you can use nitrogen which will generate the map quickly and then do the same steps to use it on the server.

    He is talking about Valheim.

@Spectral Force may I ask if you experience any problems with Valheim that the world resets on a container stop/start/restart?

EDIT: I read somewhere about a world destroy bug...

@ich777  I've been running my container server since Feb 5 with no issues.  I have only restarted it once, I haven't seen the need to do it more than that, even with 6 players having played on it.

    Hello all,

I would like to ask about the support of larger Files then 20GB.

Me and a co-worker wer trying to upload a large (40GB) Iso Image but the transfer stopped @ the Size of 20GB (WinSCP is reporting filesize 19908MB).

Is it possible to upload the whole file, without splitting it?

Thank you for a fast response, have a nice day and stay healthy!

    Simon

Did you change the default file upload size?  I sent mine to half a tb. I'm just having email connection issues.
