When i startet my build i put a lot of drives in my Server so i am now on 24 drives, most of themn are 2TB drives, what only take space and use electricty. I like to move the Server in a different case and shrink the amount of drives down. There comes my question on this 2 TB drives are next to zero data on usually only a few GB, now i woiuld like to move this data to on e of the bigger empty drives and the take the small drives out of the pool to shrink the amount of drives down. I would be very happy if someone could tell me what is the best wa to do that. I use user shares, so this shares span over all the drives. Thanks!

I think i did some mistake, i installed the docker, and used wrong path for ploting so the container was full. I decidet then to remove the docker of chia to start over. What I don't understand is, that nobody of the developers looks into this problem. I have a freenas with the same components what does not make any problem ever, my CentOS server also never makes this problems, but unraid does. Unraid is the only paid software of this and I like the concept, but I expect this problems to be solved ASAP, as it is clearly a bug, and it is there for a long long time...

Sure is no problem to do that for me, but i had for example recomanded Unraid to many friends, and they are not very fit with IT they would need to have a working tool to use unraid. so most of them gave up before even installing.

I find it very disturbing that after over two years Unraid has nit fixed this problem, it is a paid software, so i think it is fair to expect a working creator tool. I have used 10 different USB Sticks and only on old one with just 2 GB worked, all the the new good brands get stuck. Very very poor performance

i have tried so far 5 different mainboards and i dont know how many nic's i think at least also 5, the strange thing is that it works all with most of the Systemes but just not with unraid. i will try again. I also used a HP Server i had laying around unfortunatly the same problem. I find it disapointing when a commercial Product is working so poor, and there is now even support on it.

Thanks for your help, this all can be a problem, BUT why the same machines run flawless with freenas with high speeds?

I dont use reiserfs but the problem is the same, and only with unraid the same machine with freenas will not have this problems... said that it is still not fixed.

Seems that nobody care about this problems here... since 6 month no solution

I had the server rest for 5 Month , today i tested the new 6.8 Version still the same.... Speed is not constant goes up and down till nothing happen anymore or the error pops up. This leaves sadly the Unraid solution pretty much useless for me. :-( Even from my Macbook pro the same theater the speed is very low... and the transferrate goes down and up and down till nothing happen annymore...

Yes there is one User more assigned hope it is public as i have it only in my private Network No the Computer is not logging in in other computers. I have here 5 Windows 10 Machines with Win 10 Home, Pro and Enterprise. and also a windows 7 machine is always the same issue. Even from my mac i dont get constat file transfer rates... If i install for example freenas on the same machine it runs without any problem. But i dont like freenas i prefer the concept of unraid. i have tested three different Motherboards 5 different SATA Controllers, different NIC's, Have tried 5 switches, and so on... the only thing i found in the last test was that the dashboard shows a very high CPU utilization when i write on the UNRAID, i use a AMD AMD A8-5500 | 16GB RAM i thought this should be enough as i am not planing to use it for anything else then as a storage. for some strange reason the transfer speed starts with 80 MB/s and drops then down to 5 MB/s and the some times even to 0.

i have read all the suggestions in Frank1940 thread, and yes sure i map the Drives. I have no idea why this is happen, i have exchanged nearly everything but still have the same result.

hmm so how this will now get solved`? seems not to be a good plan to charge for a piece of software and then ignore the problems...

for me the same the two nics are recognized as faiover by the system but it does not change anything if i have one or two pluged in or one nic removed... 😞
