thanks very much for the suggestions... good to know there's other things to try, if my current 'fix' stops working. i do not have a large cache drive, therefore i don't think i could afford to have it run only once per week....and plex is my only source for tv also, so i guess having sab run only once per day means you are at least another day delayed in watching shows, which is not the end of the world!

just in terms of an update, i had a hard lockup on jan 15, but have not had one since ie 7 days. its the longest i've had without a lockup, so very pleased. i guess technically i did have two after installing this docker restart script, but seems to be working now edit: now feb 5, still have not had a hard lockup!

I don't use crash plan. Only Sab sick and plex edit: oops sorry question prob not meant for me!

i'm having the exact same problem....wish i could offer advice but at least i can say its not just you! really hoping the next unraid update solves it.

sorry to report i had another hard lockup today. this fix on this page likely works, i probably just have another problem. seems like there are a ton of posts on random hard lockups...

every few days, things lockup. can access from putty, but can't seem to execute any commands. here are diagnostics, from after a hard reboot. anything stand out as odd? tower-diagnostics-20160113-2010.zip

ok great thanks. i did create my files with notepad++, and did place the files in the locations, then restarted. i'm going to try using your files, including the folders you have. i basically copied both unzipped folders right in the root of flash. i edited your file to make the restart sooner as you suggested for testing. rebooted, now i wait about half an hour to see. it did occur to me- do i have to enable cron somewhere? or just by having the .cron file in the right folder, unraid will 'use' it? EDIT: SUCCESS!!! i really swear i did exactly as you instructed, but i must have goofed something. using your files, with a slight change to time worked! in fact i was doing a workout using plex, and expecting plex to 'disconnect' which it did right on cue. then checked tower docker, and could see that it restarted the dockers 30 seconds prior. Thanks so much time to help me, this should be stickied for others!!!

i see thanks, i did not notice the advanced view option, that's great i did noticed though that it said up 16 hours which is not a good sign. it is noon right now, and they should have restarted at 5am, which should then be up 7 hours. i did have a reboot yesterday around 8pm, so that's how its counting to 16. i must have something wrong I will attach my two files docker_restart.sh is in flash/custom docker_restart.cron is in flash/config/plugins/dockrestart Desktop.zip

oops sorry... i know where to go to see if they are running, i'm trying to ask- how do i know i did the script correctly? if they are running before i go to bed, and running when i wake up, there are two options: they restarted or they never restarted, and just stayed on wonder if there's a way to tell?

ok thanks all, i will be so happy if this fixes the unexpected lockup i guess one final question- is there any way for me to tell that the docker has been restarted, ie to tell that i created the files correctly?

wow thanks for the great reply, i will try this for sure! two clarifications: 1. for the docker_restart.sh, can i just paste the code into windows notepad, and then save the file as docker_restart.sh? 2. for the cron job, do i make a .plg file or something? so excited try this! surprised more people aren't having this problem...

hi all, running unraid 6 with only 3 dockers, plex, sickbeard, and sab every few days, my sab docker cannot be accessed, but plex and sickbeard can be. also, my shares cannot be accessed. only thing that helps is a hard reboot, can't even shutdown from putty i'm not sure if sab is the problem, or just a symptom i'm attaching my diagnostics but it may not help since these were captured after a hard reboot. any thoughts on how to troubleshoot? i've had this issue ever since upgrading to unraid 6 about a month ago... tower-diagnostics-20160106-1811.zip

i have something a bit related... every few days, the server becomes un-responsive after i upgraded to 6.1.6. interestingly, i can acccess sickbeard and plex (running from dockers) but can't access sab, or the unraid webgui, or any shares. very frustrating, i have to power down, that's the only way to restore connection

hi all... i need some help with needo's plex app and remote access I have two servers, with an instance of plex running on each. The server Tower is for movies and tv, and Chimera is for music and pics. Both servers are running version 0.9.15.0 my problem is with remote access which is odd because it was working fine till about 2 days ago when my servers were rebooted. I suppose the reboot could have screwed something, or perhaps by rebooting I updated to a version of plex with a glitch in it. Both servers show up fine on my local network. However outside my network, only one shows up for remote access. Here’s how they are setup on the server/settings/remote access page of the plex web gui. server: Tower server mapping. Private 192.168.2.66:32400 <- Public external IP:32400 <- Internet. this is working, and fully accessible outside my local network server: Chimera server mapping. Private 192.168.2.55:32400 <- Public external:32401 <- Internet. red X, not available outside my network note that in the router, 32400 is set to forward to 192.168.2.66, and 32401 is set to forward to 192.168.2.55 Seems like it should work but I am far from an expert! Any advice?

hi all! i had been using the eroz airvideoserver, which worked well for me, however i couldn't get it to work with my new apple tv, it would never connect. eroz suggested that i try airvideohd as it may work... for some reason, when i install airvideohd, i can't get anything to connect. the log files seems to suggest an error with bonjour... any suggestions on how to resolve this? i will attach my logs as well...any help is greatly appreciated! server_prop_and_network_log.zip

thanks, i assumed the two programs were similar... for some reason i can't get the other one working! but i can use yours fine (except for with appletv) will try to keep working the other one

I have this working with my iphone and ipad, but cannot get it working with my appletv v4! any advice? some research says that airvideo needs to be version 2.2.1, but i can't tell what is inside this docker, or how to update the version. any advice?

hi there, upgraded to v6 yesterday, thought all was well, but today can't access the web gui oddly my plex and sickbeard were running and accessible, but my sab, and overall gui were not accessible did a hard reboot out of desperation, now cannot access gui, or any apps or shares. can access putty still! very desperate for advice!

Interesting read, i upgrade to v6 last night. got plex up and running, played some movies and tv shows fine. then set /transcode to /tmp, and changed the plex settings to /transcode played a few HD tv shows, and worked great. these are all around the 1gb size. then tried some movies, coudln't get a single one to play! very odd, they are all around the 8gb mark in size removed the /transcode reference in plex settings, and then all tv and movies played fine. i have a system with 16gb ram (spread over 2 cpu) so i would have thought i have plenty! not sure if the 'broken' plex has been fixed yet.

got things working, but had to add /mnt and /mnt into container and host path don't think this is the ideal way, feels like cheating! will do more reading, but in the meantime does anyone see any risk to this approach?

upgraded from v5 to v6 tonight... generally went fine, have plex up and running (thanks trurl) installed needo's docker for sab and sickbeard pointed the dockers to my former v5 installation for sab and sick, and web guis both came up fine including my former settings!! then sickbeard grabbed a couple of shows, and downloaded, but I am getting errors in sabnzbd saying 'post processing was aborted (cannot create final folder /mnt/user/Stuff to burn/! unzip/2 broke girls)' for example probably related, but when i go into sickbeard, and look at any show, they are all listed however each one says Location:/mnt/user/Media/Media/TV/exampleshow is missing. that path does seem to represent where my media is... movies get a similar error post processing was aborted (cannot create final folder /mnt/user/Media/Media/Movies/HD Movies/examplemovie) i suspect both of these are mapping problems, but unsure how to fix, and where sab docker has /downloads mapped to /mnt/cache/apps/sabnzbd/Downloads/ sickbeard has /downloads mapped to /mnt/cache/apps/sabnzbd/Downloads/ also sick has /tv mapped to /mnt/user/Media/Media/TV/ I suspect both sab and sick don't really know where to find the right folders, probably relative to the mappings in the dockers... do i need to change paths in sab and sick apps? can someone point a docker mapping newb in the right direction?

i have been reading but i guess its not sinking in lol I can now see my whole library, and have also setup mappings, however when i try to play a file i get a 'please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted' not sure if the mapping are wrong, or the library needs updating? edit: got it working, added /mnt as container and /mnt as path... no other containers thanks so much!!!!
