  1. Got this error this morning, but it's a bit vague so I'm not sure what it's talking about. The only thing I recognized as an error in syslog is the below stack. It looks to have occurred this morning and last week, but I do not remember fix common problems triggering an alert before today. I have no made changes to bios or the CPU for at least six months, so I'm not sure this is even the error it's complaining about. Oct 18 04:30:01 media1 root: Fix Common Problems Version 2020.09.27 Oct 18 04:30:05 media1 root: Fix Common Problems: Error: Machine Check Events detected on your server Oct 18 04:30:05 media1 root: mcelog: ERROR: AMD Processor family 23: mcelog does not support this processor. Please use the edac_mce_amd module instead. Oct 18 04:30:05 media1 root: CPU is unsupported Can someone confirm whether this is the error? Or if not, what the actual error is that caused fix common problems to trigger an alert? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm attaching the diagnostics zip file Thanks! media1-diagnostics-20201018-0909.zip
  2. I ran the plugin Fix-Common-Problems and it identified an issue in syslog. The solution it suggested was to grab diagnostics and upload. I looked at it, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know whether its an error I can ignore or should be worried about... I've attached my diagnostics, hoping somebody can shed some light on this for me. Errors occurred: Feb 14, 09:47 Feb 15, 15:09 Feb 16, 13:05 Feb 17, several between 14:13 and 14:34 Thanks! media1-diagnostics-20200217-1453.zip
  3. I just started using it, but love the clean gui, simplicty of use, and the great forum help I've received so far. Would love to have the ability to configure folders or shares to duplicate contents onto multiple disk's, like DrivePool has. (I'm still becoming familiar with unraid, so this may already possible and I haven't come across it yet)
  4. arrgghhh!! crap! I'm such an idiot, I even watched it create all the directories at the start...never thought it all the way through. You are 100% correct Thank you so much!
  5. First unraid server so I'm guessing I did something wrong somewhere along the line. I created 2 shares tv and movies and gave them access to the entire pool (9 X 14tb drives + 2 X 14tb parity). They were setup to keep 20GB free and allocation method was the high-water mark and use cache (2 X 2tb nvme) enabled and split was level 1 only (I wanted individual movie and tv shows to all be stored on the same disk) I begin to copy files from my old server into the shares using rsync using 2 sessions. The targets i used was the share for movies and tv, /mnt/users/movies and /mnt/users/tv respectively. I did not specify any specific disk (ie. /mnt/disk1, etc) The copy was going ok but to help speed it up I removed the parity disks and set the cache to no. (I kicked off the mover job just to make sure it cleared everything) To avoid both hitting a single disk, I updated the included disks for movies share to be 1 -5 and the tv share to be 6-11. I then stopped and restarted the server and reissued the rsync commands. It looked like everything was working at that point, movies were going to disk 1 and tv going to disk 6. I expected at around 7 or 8 GB it would switch disks...but it just kept trucking. I wasn't too concerned with the tv rsync because I knew it was working on a big series and it had to put it on the same disk, however it just kept going as well, never switching disks. I tried to be clever at that point and removed disk 1 from the movie included list and stopped and restarted everything. It literally copied a single movie to disk 2 and then went back to writing to disk 1. I decided to let it run and see what happened, I now have disk 1 and disk 6 with around 1 TB free and no sign of stopping. What am I missing/doing wrong? Is there a way to balance the data or do I have to start all over? Attaching diagnostics in case it can be of any help in resolving. Appreciate any help I can get. Thanks! media1-diagnostics-20191227-0946.zip
  6. Storage was easy fix. Doing a search, I think I'm one of the "lucky" ones having an issue with the AOC-SAS2LP-MV8, swapped it for an LSI appears to have done the trick....no more errors. I still can't disable VM's, but since I'm not running any right now, not really a concern. Thanks again for the help and pointing out the storage issue!
  7. I rebooted the server and was able to change the address assignment to automatic...in hindsight, I vaguely remember putting the IP in during setup...which I probably shouldn't have. Was able to install the plugin without a hitch. Looks like I do have a problem with my storage piece I get to work on...aside from creating the pool I haven't done anything or put anything into yet...thankfully. Makes working on it/fixing it much easier not having to worry about losing data. Thanks guys for the quick help, much appreciated!!
  8. Don't know if it helps, but here's a screen shot of my network tab.
  9. I do (or should) have the dhcp off, I have it configured in my router to give it a static ip. I'm trying to add the dns entries now but I can't turn off vms. I've tried stop all from vms (I have none installed anyways), as well disable in VM manager. I hit apply, but it doesn't stick and continues to say running.
  10. Doesn't it pick that up from the gateway?
  11. Thanks, I will look at it. I wasn't sure if my old controller would work or not, but I saw healthy/online on the dashboard and thought everything was good so didn't look any further. Once I get this plugin problem resolved, I will try swapping the controller out and see if that resolves the issue. Thanks again for pointing that out.
  12. Hey everyone, New to unraid, just installed the trial and am trying to install the CA plugin. Aside from the initial install, I've only created my pool and cache. I haven't "tweaked" anything but I must have done something wrong somewhere along the line as I am getting a network error when trying to install the plugin Using this url: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg I get this: plugin: installing: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg plugin: downloading https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg plugin: downloading: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg ... failed (Network failure) plugin: wget: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg download failure (Network failure) Everything I see network wise works fine...but as I'm new to unraid, I really don't know what "fine" should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached the diagnostics. Thanks! media1-diagnostics-20191219-1145.zip
