Hello together!

I got this setup:

7x 4TB SATA HDD  6 onboad controller and one over second PCIE SATA Controller

1x 256GB SSD M.2 Onboard (Docker/VM)

1x 512GB SSD M.2 Onboard  (Cache)

2 4TB Drives are missing and the 256GB SSD for my Docker/Vm is missing too.

First i thougt with my trial license i can only use 6 drives - but now i purchased the plus license and still can't add the additional drives.

Can it be that unraid didn'd detect ma second sata controller?

I think that it looks like initialization issues:

Also, I think that one of your SATA port is deactivated by the second M.2 as per your MB specifications.

*M2_2 and SATA3_3 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, the other one will be disabled.

Probably that JorgeB could dive deeper in your log and give your a more detailed feedback.

Hello again!

so i took the second SSD out of the M.2 Slot and now i got 2 additional drives under unassigned devices!

I will buy a PCE to m.2 Adapter and put the second SSD on it.

In wich PCI 1x slot should i put the PCIE card, to avoid a second init error?

Many Thanks for the fast help!

As an addition to the onboard controller.  If you have four  (or six) onboard SATA ports available, you would have 12 (or14) SATA ports available wit the eight port LSI card.

Data transfer speed is usually limited by the read/write speeds of the hard drive so put any additional SSD's on the MB ports.  (There are LSI cards with the speed to handle SSD's but they are much more expensive.)
