OK like all of yall I was having the same and worse trouble. After actually reading everyone's comments and suggestions I have it working heres what i did.

1. hit show more settings and deleted 2nd WEBUI port

2. Changed my time zone to match my Unraid server. (I tried Fix 1 by itself and no results until time zone matched).

3. Changed PUID to 99 and PGID to 100

4. I was able to finally get into the config with the URL

5. Configured everything as I wanted and now I have the script sunning with no errors in my logs.

Hope this helps

same here.  my first run was to scan 1000+ posters and my docker image starting filling up fast.  It looks like the container tmp folder is the culprit.  This freed up more than 12 gb.

There is no 2nd WebUI port.  If you're running this in the default Bridge mode then that port definition which you deleted is required.  If you've put it onto it br0 (and assigned a dedicated IP), then that port definition is ignored anyways.

It sounds like you're not using the actual CA template. It's named "plex-utills" but if you search for that, you won't get any results. You have to search for "plex utills", i.e. without the hyphen.

what is happening?

I am working on a fix for this now.

It is due to the way some plex containers map their media at the root of the container so the script was swapping out the '/' for '/films'

ther ewill be an update to address this in the next day or two.

Is there anything that i have done incorrectly ?

No, That is an issue some people have had before. I'm still trying to understand why it happens as it can be difficult to reproduce.

I'm testing something that may help with an update coming later today.

Great news,

I was able to use this application a long time ago but it has never worked since.

It always stops at a certain point and never finished going through the film library.

Got very excited when i saw a new version :)

Let me know if you need someone to test

Thanks for continuing to support this.

If you have multiple libraries on Plex, like Movies, and Movies (Anime), how do I list those in the config? Are they comma separated? Or does PU only recognize one library per type?

Amazing util- thanks for making this available!

I just recently updated the docker on Unraid and went to the main web page and hit migrate. Everything was working last time I checked it on the old version.

Now when it comes up I see error messages trying to load the actual Movie name and it looks like it's missing a / <whack> when loading the file.
I checked the setup tab and 'films' is going to the right directory. I tried it both with and without a trailing / but keep getting the following error:

I checked the github and didn't see anything glaring, any ideas?
Thanks again

having a problem here. Seems like plexutils is only seeing my movie librarys...

Problem is i have "/" in my library Name. Would this be fixable or do i have to rename my library?

  • 4 months later...

Seems the size of the overlay is really big in Plex?
Any way to adjust this? I Thought it would be small and make the title readable  🙂

image.png.1ca6ceabe41c55828668c83930d4307b.png

UPDATE: I found that the local poster art is unchanged, and that the poster changed is the Plex thumbnail, I think that's why the overlay is so big?

Restore didnt work for me, so I had to delete the library in Plex and recreate it again, using the local poster art in the folders.

Is there any way to use Plex-utills on the local stored posters in each movie folder?

Anyone else BLOWING UP their docker image with this container? When I run a script, I'm getting over 30GB written. I have to shut it down before it takes everything else down with it. Can we get a share mapping to prevent this? Maybe some garbage collection?

God thank you for this. I kept look at the container settings and saw no where where it should be writing to the docker img.  This should be part of the template when you first install it.

Thank you for posting this here. It resolved everything for me.

Not sure if this project is still being maintained or no, but when I install it for the first time, I'm getting this at first login. I added all the configs but to no avail. What is this about needing to migrate? It's a new install so what needs to be migrated from where to where?

plex utils.png

Something is preventing it from accessing the library despite having access using the default PGID PUID.

I guess it's dead. Shame. It was a cool idea.

I would suggest looking at Kometa instead.
