ItsMrMe
My Parity has 415 found errors and one of my disks reports 16 errors in the main view. But I fail to understand how I can detect what those errors are, if they are harmful and how to fix them. Could you help me? Diagnostics are attached. eldest-diagnostics-20220801-1601.zip Edited August 1, 2022 by ItsMrMe Attached diagnostics Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It's logged as a disk problem, run an extended SMART test on disk3. Quote Link to comment
ItsMrMe
It's running now, I'll update you when it's ready. Quote Link to comment
trurl
You may have to disable spindown on the disk to get it to complete. Will take several hours Quote Link to comment
ItsMrMe
The extended smart for disk 3 was without error. I do still see the 16 errors in the main tab. eldest-smart-20220801-2352.zip Quote Link to comment
ChatNoir
ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAGS VALUE WORST THRESH FAIL RAW_VALUE 1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate POSR-K 200 200 051 - 127 200 Multi_Zone_Error_Rate ---R-- 200 200 000 - 16 This does not look good for a WD drive. Attributes 1 and 200 should ideally always be at 0 for WD drive. You should adjust SMART attribute notifications for each drive to include those attributes. If it was me, I would replace the drive. JorgeB
Disk is OK for now, but like mentioned it doesn't look very good, it will likely fail again in the near future, up to you if you want to give it another shot or replace now. Quote Link to comment
ItsMrMe
I will replace the disk. If I do this, will the parity errors be fixed? Thanks for your help so far, you're reacting so quickly! Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Parity sync errors were immediately after the disk read errors, so yes, replacing it should fix that, assuming parity was 100% in sync. Quote Link to comment
