un4given
Dear all, hope everyones well. I bought a new laptop recently after selling my Gaming PC (Windows 10 Pro 64BIt, Build 19044) and it uses Wifi 6. I was pretty sure the tranfer speeds to Unraid would be pretty fine, since the new laptop is situated near router (1-2 Meters) Wifi conncetion via Laptop. But i determined with regret, that transfers to and from server are 10-12 MB/second (100 mbit cap) I also have an Xpenology running and checked transfers to that server reaching 110-115 MB write and read speed. Also Speedtests to Internet show me full ISP speed 500/50. I also tried another Laptop with Wifi 5 and could get 60-80 MB to Unraid. I was writing to Unraid cache (NVMe SSDs) where i normally get the full speed. What am i missing? Why is WiFi speed to Unraid caping? Hope some1 will have an idea Have a nice Sunday Quote Link to comment

If you get better speeds with another laptop cannot see how Unraid could be the problem, could be your Wi-Fi router/ap, you can run iperf between various computers to test. Quote Link to comment
itimpi
From the description you give it sounds like has to be something in your laptop or router that is limiting the speed. You have confirmed that Unraid can getter speeds when the laptop is not in the equation. Quote Link to comment
un4given
Thx for the responses. But this is the funny thing. I doubt it's laptops fault. Over WiFi 6 Laptop to ISP - 500mbit Laptop to Other Devices on the Network - 1gbit Laptop to Other NAS - 1gbit Laptop to Unraid - 100mbit while writing/reading to/from SMB share So is it really my laptop? If it is, why 1gbit to other NAS (Synology)? This is the point where I am trying to solve a riddle. P.S. going to use iperf now and see what comes out To Unraid [ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth [ 4] 0.00-1.01 sec 16.0 MBytes 133 Mbits/sec [ 4] 1.01-2.00 sec 13.0 MBytes 110 Mbits/sec [ 4] 2.00-3.00 sec 13.9 MBytes 116 Mbits/sec [ 4] 3.00-4.00 sec 14.8 MBytes 124 Mbits/sec [ 4] 4.00-5.00 sec 14.6 MBytes 123 Mbits/sec [ 4] 5.00-6.00 sec 14.5 MBytes 122 Mbits/sec [ 4] 6.00-7.00 sec 10.8 MBytes 90.1 Mbits/sec [ 4] 7.00-8.00 sec 10.6 MBytes 89.0 Mbits/sec [ 4] 8.00-9.00 sec 10.1 MBytes 85.1 Mbits/sec [ 4] 9.00-10.00 sec 11.5 MBytes 96.2 Mbits/sec - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth [ 4] 0.00-10.00 sec 130 MBytes 109 Mbits/sec sender [ 4] 0.00-10.00 sec 130 MBytes 109 Mbits/sec receiver To another Windows Maschine [ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth [ 4] 0.00-1.00 sec 13.6 MBytes 114 Mbits/sec [ 4] 1.00-2.00 sec 18.8 MBytes 157 Mbits/sec [ 4] 2.00-3.00 sec 16.8 MBytes 141 Mbits/sec [ 4] 3.00-4.00 sec 19.1 MBytes 161 Mbits/sec [ 4] 4.00-5.01 sec 9.00 MBytes 74.5 Mbits/sec [ 4] 5.01-6.00 sec 16.0 MBytes 136 Mbits/sec [ 4] 6.00-7.00 sec 17.6 MBytes 147 Mbits/sec [ 4] 7.00-8.00 sec 16.5 MBytes 139 Mbits/sec [ 4] 8.00-9.01 sec 15.8 MBytes 131 Mbits/sec [ 4] 9.01-10.00 sec 8.12 MBytes 68.4 Mbits/sec - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth [ 4] 0.00-10.00 sec 151 MBytes 127 Mbits/sec sender [ 4] 0.00-10.00 sec 151 MBytes 127 Mbits/sec receiver P.S. iva got Intel AX200 Adapter on my laptop and those seem to have issues. Will maybe try to switch to another one. But i as still confused: why is speedtest.net showing 500 mbit? Edited August 28, 2022 by un4given Quote Link to comment
