This is normal since it's checking dockerhub registry for the tag and seeing there's a new version. I need to check later the cron because looking at run history, it seems the job ran only at 2am while the cron is each hours

Enshrouded_Proton version is not able to start enshrouded_server.exe version of 1.0. I checked that at least the executive name was correct in the appdata. Is this Wine/proton issue or is it related to the docker image?

They might have change the name of the exe or the download path thus it cannot find it anymore. Is the issue present with the non proton?

Checked the enshrouded own log and found this:

Yeah it seems something in proton is having a hard time. Can you try the non proton? There's no gain on running proton anyway

Yeah, the newer enshrouded server needs steamclient023 which seems to need proton 11 -> glibc_2.38. This Proton Package would need a new base it seems, sadly.

  • Author

I did create a beta in the past with a newer version of proton, but I'm unsure which version it is

Okay, did not tested it yet but i installed your non-proton now. Seems good so far. And if you say there is no performancegain for proton really, then i´ll just use this <3 :)

  • Author

I would say it's a placebo. Some swear there's a difference, other says the non proton run smoother. I myself run the non proton version no problem but I do have a very beefy server

edit : Just saw the message above, going to run non-proton then!

What I tried:

Adding two variables in the Docker (via Edit in UnRAID) to update Proton
GE_PROTON_VERSION : 9-27
GE_PROTON_URL : https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/download/GE-Proton9-27/GE-Proton9-27.tar.gz

Changed the "SteamCMD" path to : /mnt/user/appdata/enshrouded_proton/steamcmd

After that, in "console" into the docker

su - steam

# removing the links
rm /serverdata/.steam/sdk32/steamservice.so
rm /serverdata/.steam/sdk64/steamservice.so
rm -rf /serverdata/.steam/sdk32
rm -rf /serverdata/.steam/sdk64

In unRAID, copied the files directly (since the symlink don't work now).

cp /mnt/user/appdata/enshrouded_proton/steamcmd/linux64/steamclient.so /mnt/cache/appdata/enshrouded_proton/
cp /mnt/user/appdata/enshrouded_proton/steamcmd/linux64/steamclient.so /mnt/cache/appdata/enshrouded_proton/steamservice.so

Restart the docker... no "error", but the exec still crash searching for the steamclient.
