squirrellydw
What's the best way to upgrade my cache drive? I currently have a 1TB cache drive and I wanna change it to 4TB? Will I have to install all my dockers again? Thanks Quote Link to comment
itimpi
Is the current cache pool a SSD or a hard disk? What will the 4Tb one be? What file system is it using? Alternatively if you attach your system’s diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread we can get this information from there. it is always a good idea when asking questions to supply your diagnostics so we can see details of your system, how you have things configured, and the current syslog. squirrellydw
Cache drive is a single hard disk drive and the new one will also be a hard disk. File system is btrfs. wagflix-diagnostics-20240223-2321.zip Quote Link to comment

Just make sure that all files were indeed moved to the array before replacing your cache drive. 1 Quote Link to comment

I can't seem to find it. Click on Shares and change to "Yes" all User Shares with "Use cache disk:" set to "Only" or "Prefer" Edited February 24 by squirrellydw Quote Link to comment

squirrellydw
Does the array need to be stopped for me to see this part. ( Yes" all User Shares with "Use cache disk:" set to "Only" or "Prefer")? Im just looking at it now and will be changing everything in a few days. Opawesome
You can do it with the array started. Just click on the relevant shares (i.e. appadata, apps, cachetmp and downloads in your case) to change the setting. I think that with the newer versions of unraid, the guide is a bit outdated and the setting "use disk cache" has been changed a bit. You must set the primary storage to "cache" and the secondary storage to "array". The effect of these new settings will occur next time the mover is called, whether manually or upon schedule, meaning that all the data from these shares (currently stores only on your cache drive) will be moved to your array. squirrellydw
Thanks guys. I will be giving this a shot in a week or so once my new drive gets here and is tested. If it doesn’t work and I screw it up guess I will just reload all my dockers lol Quote Link to comment

The guide has separate list of steps for 6.1.5 and earlier and the 6.12 series so is up to date as far as I know Quote Link to comment

I really only see instructions referring to "cache only" and "cache prefer" (i.e. versions before 6.12 if I am not mistaken) on this page : https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/storage-management/#backing-up-the-pool-to-the-array Edited February 24 by Opawesome Quote Link to comment
trurl
Here it is under the shares section instead of storage management. https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/shares/user-shares/#moving-files-from-a-pool-cache-to-the-array Storage management seemed the more logical place to look for this since the question wasn't really about any specific user share. 1 Quote Link to comment
