Well I tried the newest version and ffmpeg is still not installing. My log repeats this over and over:

2013-02-05 11:21:58,918 WARN  [ProcessExecutor] Cannot retrieve results, output reader is null
2013-02-05 11:21:58,919 ERROR [ProcessExecutor] Fatal error in process starting: Cannot run program "ffmpeg": error=2, No such file or directory

DigitalDrifta posted this:

You need to go to /boot/config/plugins/serviio/ffmpeg and run ffsetup.sh

So I went to that location but there is no ffsetup.sh to run.

Thanks in advance for any help/guidance. :)

Think I'm having a similar problem, Serviio works but Subsonic will not transcode.., my error: cannot stat '/usr/bin/ffmpeg' No such file or directory

I have just posted a new version of the serviio plugin (1.1-9jr) and the subsonic modified plugin (4.7-4.1.5jr) which should fix the ffsetup bug

Installed the new version and no joy. I still have the no ffmpeg error in the Serviio log files as above. However, this time I do have ffsetup.sh located here:

/mnt/cache/.apps/serviio/ffmpeg

I'm just not sure how to run it.  :o

PS- I did reboot the tower as required in the installation section of your first post.

Can you try something for me.

Can you delete the /mnt/cache/.apps/serviio/ffmpeg directory and delete the /boot/config/plugins/serviio/serviio-version.cfg file. This will force the plugin to reinstall the ffmpeg directory and make sure nothing from the old version is left behind. Let me know if this helps

Try that, then re-installed:

Success! After I got past my ffmpeg issues, it still wasn't showing up on my WDTV Live due to a Serviio configuration error.

Mayhem, I can't thank you enough for maintaining this plugin and helping me to get it to work.  8)

@LakersFan

Can you give me a list of the other plugins you have installed. There might be a conflict with another plugin and their use of ffmpeg. I'm trying to find as many scenarios that could be causing problems with serviio. The biggest one so far is that a lot of other plugins out there are using ffmpeg 0.8 which is not compatible with serviio which needs a minimum of 0.9, hence why I compiled my own using the sources from serviio.

I am currently working on making my ffmpeg a proper slackware install package so that it will be easier for other plugins to use it if needed.

A big thanks from me too..!

My issue wasn't with Serviio but with Subsonic breaking down when trying to use ffmpeg, all good now tho'...

For what it's worth, Plugins I'm using: Serviio Media Server, LazyLibrarian, Plex Media Server, Subsonic, utserver, CouchPotato v2, Gamez, Headphones, HTPC Manager, maraschino, Mylar, SABnzbd & SickBeard

Also when I click this plugin in my unraid, I can see:

Status: Serviio is running.

Serviio version installed:

Note:

Java version 1.6.0_27 is currently running.

Serviio is not installed

there is no version mentioned still it say running, but then at the end it say not installed :(

Any ideas, what should I try?

I used to have old version of Serviio, I downloaded new 1.1 and copied it over the previous.

Serviio seems to be running as my Samsung Tv can connect to it and play content.

But the console can not be launched from plugin and overall it seems to be messed somehow.

Thanks a lot!

@matincc

Can you please give me a list of the plugins you have installed. There may be a conflict. I also noticed you have jre6 installed. This is a bit old. My plugin installs jre7, but I would say something you have installed has overwritten it.

Thanks for your reply.

Java is strange Skipping package jre-7u2-i586 (already installed) - thats Java, isnt it?

Beside serviio I have only ps3 media server installed, some older installation and I tried to install

Plex as well, but it does not show up in Unraid, but some leftovers from installation can be on the server.

Any ideas what from those  mentioned could be causing the issue?

Thanks a lot.

Im pretty sure the ps3 media server is also a DLNA server. Two DLNA servers can not exist on the same IP address as the ports will conflict. Try disabling the ps3 media server temporaraly and see if serviio starts up OK. I also know that the ps3 media server installs the older jre-6u27-i586 which will also conflict with the jre-7u2-i586 my plugin installs.

sorry for this stupid question, but how can I unistall that older java and ps3 media server?

I would like to removethem so I can run the serviio plugin installation again so hopefully it installs this newer java

thanks a lot

All you need to do is move the ps3 media servers .plg file out of the plugins folder and reboot the unraid server. The plugin will not get installed on reboot.

Thanks for your advice.

I have rebooted without any plugins.

Now I am getting:

Status: Serviio is NOT running.

Note:

Java version 1.7.0_02 is currently running.

Serviio is not installed

So I have already that new Java installed however the Serviio does not seem to be there?

But is said it was being installed when I ran your script.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

oops, now it seems to be working. I guess it was because my array takes somehow long time to be fully online and the serviio starts once array is loaded.

Now it says Status:

Serviio is running.

Serviio version installed: 1.1

Note:

Java version 1.7.0_02 is currently running.

Serviio is installed with version: 1.1 (Plugin version: 1.1-9jr )

Serviio Installation Directory: /boot/config/plugins/serviio

Serviio storage memory usage: install + data directory: 70M

Your data will persist after a reboot

and console is loading!!

great, thanks!

hopefully it will work, going to try..

Thanks again for your time!

Hello, I am unable to see serviio installed on my Unraid box, from my PS3 (my only render device). I am able to connect to the serviio installation on my mac from my PS3 without any issues. Please assist me in making full use of serviio. Here are the steps i've taken thus far:

*used system properties to configure bound address

    # Setup Serviio specific properties
    JAVA_OPTS="-Dserviio.home=$SERVIIO_CONSOLE_HOME -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Dserviio.boundAddr=192.168.1.108 -Dserviio.home=/boot/config/plugins/serviio/serviio-1.1"

*Forwarded ports 8895 TCP and 1900 UDP through router firewall by setting internal & external port forwarding to 192.168.1.108 (serviio host machine's ip). Also temporarily turned off the router firewall  to make sure that wasn't the issue.

*Using the FAQ links I setup multicast routes, but im not too familiar with this so I just used the examples given in this forum then deleted the entries after I still couldn't connect to serviio.

*After trying the above and more I am still no closer to seeing serviio from the PS3. Below/Attached are the relevant logs:

Update: Uninstalling and reinstalling the updated version resolved my issues
