newbie installing sabnzbd and sickbeard [Solved]

Featured Replies

Not to try and derail this topic, quick question.

I was reading through this to get an idea of how to go about installing SickBeard, SABnzbd, and Couchpotato because by the time I get home I'm hoping my last drive will have completed preclearing and I can finally set up my server. Anyway, do you need to run these programs/plugins from a cache drive or is it just recommended to? I ask because currently I'm only running the basic unRAID with 3 drives (1 3TB Parity, 2x 2TB). I do plan to upgrade to the Pro version, but that more than likely will not be until the end of the month and until then I'd really like to beable to get these apps up and running to automatically download my shows. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

I'm running from a SSD/cache disk because 90% of the time that is the only 'disk' that is spinned up, and an SSD is usually low power compared to a normal harddisk. But, you should be ok running the apps from a normal disk.

Yeah, just put them on the Disk1 or Disk2 Share (so /mnt/user/disk1/sickbeard). I also use the cache drive. I think the only issue here is that you'd be constantly needing to use the parity on anything that comes in or gets changed, but I could be wrong there.

Edit: Also, wanted to mention that I'm pretty sure Newzbin does give the Category of Movie/TV/Music/Book automatically through the NZB if that plugin is used and the link is selected; unfortunately right now the nzbs it's creating are blank so I can't verify that. Sorry!

I can't find newzbin? Probably an invite only site or anything?

I'm normally using nzbindex.nl or nzbclub.com.

If you pay for VIP membership to NZBMatrix, it passes category names through that chrome plug-in(firefox plug-in does too). You can then change the group tag in the sab category for whatever you want, for example for blu-rays and HD x264 movies if you want them in a HD Movie directory, you can set the category and then set the group tag for Movies.HD (ISO) and another for Movies.HD (x264). Anytime you pass an nzb to sab from the plug-in it also passes that group tag and sab will set the category appropriately.

The VIP membership is about $10 for 10 years, pretty good deal considering it is the (IMO) best organized index site.

maxse, sorry, the command was wrong, left a flag out.

To fix the permission run this

chmod -R 777 /mnt/cache/apps/

That will set the permission recursively from apps down.

YES!!! It's working! IT was a permissions issue apparently. Thanks so much influencer...
