How to delete large numbers of leftover /incomplete/ files & folders

Featured Replies

TL/DR:  Have a folder with a thousand files/folders.  I don't have permission/ownership.  Wanna delete them ALL.

This past week, I've been auditioning Sonarr.  Long-story-short, the end result:  I have a Sabnzbd \incomplete\ folder with about 1000 incompletes- that I KNOW will never finish.  Because of permissions/ownership/issues, I can't simply DELETE everything at once.  (Actually, I can't delete ANYthing manually....because I don't know the command syntax to give myself permission/ownership of the files.

Can someone give me a ELI5/cookbook instructions on what commands to issue; presuming I've turned off Sabnzbd.  Whether that be at a command prompt (telnet) or in MC, I'm not picky.  I just want that mountain of false-hope-files GONE from my cache drive.  Thanks.

What about the new permissions in the tool tab of your webui.

That should set the correct permissions and allow you to delete stuff.

I suspect two problems with that:

1.  I'm still using 5.06

2.  All the files are on my cache drive (not part the array)

?

Version 5 has the new permissions script and has it accesable via the gui.

It can also be run via telnet.
