QEMU 2.5 Nvidia Hyper-V extension Work Around. Please Add!

Featured Replies

Recently there has been a discovery regarding NVidia cards and Hyper-V extensions:

https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/473guu/nvidias_hyperv_detection_can_now_be_fooled_when/

I noticed that the file that I create (using the more complicated instructions) to attempt to resolve this issue is overwritten when I reboot my machine.  As well, UnRaid has not yet updated their QEMU to 2.5 so following the instructions were moot to begin with (should've checked that first).

I was wondering if you could add this functionality to UnRaid?  It will likey result in immediate an immediate purchase from myself.

Thank you very much for your time and effort!

You could also just disable hyper-v in the VM template until qemu is updated  :)

unraid 6.2 is coming out sometime with some significant kvm improvements, maybe it'll include 2.5 ;)

Yes, the Hyper-V workaround will be in 6.2.

Good to hear. There is so much to be excited about in 6.2!
