May 7, 201214 yr Author FYI ssmtp is not installing. The package is unavailable through the debian repository. This is the error. --2012-04-07 19:39:49-- http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/ssmtp/ssmtp_2.62.orig.tar.gz Resolving ftp.debian.org (ftp.debian.org)... 130.89.148.12, 2001:610:1908:b000::148:12 Connecting to ftp.debian.org (ftp.debian.org)|130.89.148.12|:80... connected. It looks like 2.64 is now there. I appreciate the hard work on this script!! Well, edit the .conf file, replace the references to 2.62 with that of 2.64, put the correct URL in place for the new version, and change the md5 checksum in the .conf file to match the new downloaded file. Then you can send me back, or post the updated .conf file. (I'm afraid my workload right now does not give me the time to do it) I just updated the ssmtp package in unMENU. It should be there now for anybody foing forward... (until the link to the source is again made invalid by the source code repository)
May 7, 201214 yr Hi, First time installer here, using the configuration tutorial. Couldn't find the ssmtp package to install, so went to user scripts and checked for updates. Et voila, up it popped. Tried to install said updates but got the following error message:- Downloading hdparm-9.37-unmenu-package-1.conf rev $Revision: 169 $ $Date: 2011-01-24 20:58:13 -0500 (Mon, 24 Jan 2011) $ 12e1b07b6b3b9c2e8d06b24ef42bd566 != d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e or d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e, /tmp/unmenu_tmp/hdparm-9.37-unmenu-package-1.conf not installed Downloading mail-ssmtp-unmenu-package.conf rev $Revision: 248 $ $Date: 2012-04-18 01:48:11 -0400 (Wed, 18 Apr 2012) $ 81a5770f59dc6504b0d4b430b1d58185 != d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e or d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e, /tmp/unmenu_tmp/mail-ssmtp-unmenu-package.conf not installed Downloading myMain_local.conf rev $Revision: 182 $ $Date: 2010-12-04 08:15:52 -0500 (Sat, 04 Dec 2010)$ 5a0630afc49c196a23db71a5d02bf18f != a5d02879e3d52eb0dffda20f12d0111c or 7799da8e46bf08d7a328617cb1a48442, /tmp/unmenu_tmp/myMain_local.conf not installed Can anyone help? May 9, 201214 yr Author Sutty - How did you solve that issue? I am getting the same error when trying to update and download the ssmtp package and can't find the resolution anywhere. Check for updates. It should download an updated .conf file for the ssmtp program. (The older version of ssmtp is no longer available on the prior source repository)
May 12, 201214 yr I have an issue when updating to ssmtp 2.64. 1. I've updated the package from "check for unMenu updates" It still shows 2.62 installed... Then I select the 2.64 Attempt to "install 2.64..", says it is successful. And it still reports I'm on 2.62. Also, I have two instances of "configuration variables" and can select to install 2.64 from either.. What are the commands I need to update properly? And remove the duplicate instances..Thanks!
May 12, 201214 yr Author to start clean, type rm -r /boot/packages/ssmtp* then, use the check for updates button on unMENU You should only have one version at that point, the newer one. Then, install/configure the newer version.
May 24, 201214 yr How does it work ok on the beta RC3 release? Well, I did install it on my RC3. Works ok, but when I try to update using the scripts button I get one thing that has to be updated. That "_local" file will not be replaced on a "check for update" as it contains your local changes and additions YOU might have made. The warning message you are getting is so you can compare and update your local file as appropriate. (It might need no changes at all if you made no changes to it since initially installed)

June 18, 201214 yr not sure if this has been talked about (as I can't seem to find it via search and i'm not reading 80 pages of posts, so sorry if it has been): Under UnRaid 5rc4 - ESXi - pass-through of an M1015 works great, but unmenu doesn't read drive temps (where unraid has no issues getting drive temps). Is there an easy fix?

June 28, 201214 yr Hi. I have installed and will give it a try. However, is it possible to use the server IP rather than "name" like "tower". I do not know why but I am getting a lot of URL errors. This is happening with firefox in a mixed MAC/PC environment. I never managed to find the server using the name instead of IP and I understood that this has to do somethimg with Os X network protocols. Could it be possible to replace the tower in URLs ("http://(TOWER):8080/") with IP number? Otherwise I need to correct every URL manually which will be a pain Add two lines in the unmenu.conf file MyHost=192.168.0.11 unRAIDHost = 192.168.0.11 Setting the correct IP address, of course. Use the Config View/Editor built into unMENU, or one that uses unix style newlines at the ends of lines. Then, re-start unMENU (There is a button for that on the User-Scripts page) Joe L. So i can no longer connect to unMenu out of no where. I was advised by Joe L. to insert the ip address lines but i do not know where to do it. July 12, 201213 yr Joe L., I noticed recently that the myMain portion of unMENU was not reporting the temperatures of my WD20EARS-60MVWB drives. In examining the unMENU code and drive Smart reports, it turns out that these drives do not have smart attribute "194 Temperature_Celsius", instead they have "190 Airflow_Temperature_Cel". I found that making these modifications to the file drivedb.lib.awk will correct the issue: Change this code at line 1006: if(drivedb[ix, "temperature_celsius"] == "") # smart not run on this drive drivedb[ix, "tempc"]="*"; else { # is spinning delete t split(drivedb[ix, "temperature_celsius"], t); drivedb[ix, "tempc"] = t[1] "C"; } to this: if(drivedb[ix, "temperature_celsius"] != "") { # is spinning delete t split(drivedb[ix, "temperature_celsius"], t); drivedb[ix, "tempc"] = t[1] "C"; } else if(drivedb[ix, "airflow_temperature_cel"] != "") { # is spinning delete t split(drivedb[ix, "airflow_temperature_cel"], t); drivedb[ix, "tempc"] = t[1] "C"; } else # smart not run on this drive drivedb[ix, "tempc"]="*"; And then change this code at line 1039 (1043 after above changes): cmd = "smartctl " PERMISSIVE_OPTION " " smartopt "| grep -i '^194'" to this: cmd = "smartctl " PERMISSIVE_OPTION " " smartopt "| grep -i '^19[04]'" I only have WD Green and Black drives in my array but these changes seems to work ok for me. I also posted some other myMain changes in this post. Thanks for all your work on unMenu. It is an amazing accomplishment.

Obviously, it takes help from people like yourself to identify and get improvements like yours. (I do not have any of those specific drives, and it is wonderful that they divert from the standard wording everyone else uses... just to make things more difficult) Thanks for all your work on unMenu. It is an amazing accomplishment. You would never recognize it as a collection of "awk" and shell scripts..., would you... I can use just about any language available to me for just about anything I need. I've since learned that "bask" also has networking capabilities, but at the time I figured out how to use "awk" for the purpose. A manager once bet me I could not write a relational database with a balanced tree data structure using "shell utilities" (ksh actually) He lost the bet. It was many years ago, and I did it just to prove I could use "dd" and sh commands to impliment any data structure I wanted. (If you can do pointer arithmetic in assembly, and in "C", no reason you can't do it in "sh") I'll incorporate what you've discovered when I get a chance. Thanks again. Joe L.
July 16, 201213 yr I've just configured my first unRAID server using 6 4TB disks. Now unMenu gives the following message: "STARTED, 6 disks in array. Parity is Valid: Last parity check 15538 days ago with no sync errors" I've created the parity this morning, not 15538 day ago (which is a LONG time btw)... is the counter ok? Can i reset it somehow?

You say you created the parity this morning; now you need to run a check on it to verify that everything can be read properly. The counter is just saying you never checked the parity.
July 16, 201213 yr Ah ok, this references to the same stuff as the SimpleFeatures' scheduled parity check then? Is that normal procedure, to check this right after you've just had it calculated?
July 16, 201213 yr Ah ok, this references to the same stuff as the SimpleFeatures' scheduled parity check then? Is that normal procedure, to check this right after you've just had it calculated? Here is the configuration tutorial referencing to do a check after the parity is initially created: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Configuration_Tutorial#Adding_a_Parity_Drive_to_an_Existing_Array After the initial parity calculation is complete, it is highly recommended to perform a manual parity check. This is to test you can read the parity data just written to the parity disk. After the initial check is found to be good, I think most people will run a check once a month (yes, SimpleFeatures has this option). You can either schedule a parity check or do it manually.
July 19, 201213 yr I'm setting up my first system following the configuration tutorial however my situation is a little unique. My unRAID server is connected to a laptop via ehternet cord but neither of them are connected to the internet and they can't be connected. I have internet access (on a separate computer) to download the software and whatever I need but when I go to install unMENU on my unRAID system it tries to connect to google and obviously it cant. Any suggestions?
