UnRaid "Log" button & "Preclear Disks" plugin

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have these 2 minor issues which I hope someone could kindly advise on what's the problem and how to fix it:

1. The "Log" button on Menu Bar will pop-up another window, but that window is always loading, nothing ever appears (blank page). But the Tools -> System Log is working fine though. I guess these info logged in the System Log are related to me clicking on the "Log" button (a couple of times)

2. For "Preclear Disks" plugin, if there is an update (under Plugins -> Installed Plugins), when I click on the update, again another window appears, but again nothing ever appears (blank page). Usually I would have to close the whole UnRaid page and re-open a new UnRaid page then navigate to the same location, it will shows that the plugin has been updated. I've tried updating other plugins, all are working fine except this 1. I have also tried removing the "Preclear Disks" plugin and re-installing it using this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gfjardim/unRAID-plugins/master/plugins/preclear.disk.plg, a window will appear but nothing is shown in the window (just blank page). I have tried waiting for more than 1 hr, nothing appears.

Also same issue occurs, as in

On UnRaid 6.3.5 upgraded from 6.1.9.

Appreciate some help here, Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have some anti-virus or pop-up blocker installed. Be sure to white list the unraid IP.

I tried incognito mode (which means pop-up blocker disabled) also cannot, tried white list the UnRaid IP for Bitdefender also cannot.

I've been through this several times and I'm having major issues with preclearing a new disk.

I'm running unRAID Pro, all disks are WD Red 4Tb

2 Parity disks

11 Data Disks

1 preclear-pending disk.

I've also got 2x Sandisk 480GB SSD disks as cache devices.

I'm running this one a Supermicro 846, Dual Xeon E5645, 192Gb RAM.

Motherboard - X8DTL

HBA - LSA SAS2008

Previously, never had any issues preclearing drives. But this time, every time I try to pre-clear I get the correct disk info up, but when I click start, I get a popup window, which immediately closes. NOTHING is written to the log, and the app sticks on "Starting ..." with the red X - I've left it overnight, nothing. Still the same. The device is recognised within unRAID correctly. Just without a log, I'm not sure what the issue is. Rebooted several times, hard and soft reboots.

The only thing that is ANY different is that the current disks are all "WDC WD40EFRX-68W" - the new disk is "WDC WD40EFRX-68N" all on revision 0A82 firmware.

I thought about the device limit on the HBA card, but it's recognising the drive, so it couldn't be that?

If I had a log file, I'd attach it!
