drewbuntu
I came home to a completely locked up server. web portal was down and i was forced to hard power down. after a reboot, both of my cache SSDs are listed as unmountable. 1 (sandisk(sdf)) is listed under cache drives still and the other (samsung(sdg)) is listed in unassigned devices. I tried following this guide but got the following errors: root@server:~# mount -o recovery,ro /dev/sdf1 /x mount: /x: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdf1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error. root@server:~# mount -o degraded, recovery,ro /dev/sdf1 /x mount: /x: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdf1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error. ideas for what i might try next? bonienl
There is usually no need to use CLI and manual input. Start with posting your diagnostics file, see Tools -> Diagnostics. Link to comment

See if the server can complete 24 hours of memtest from the unraid boot menu. Check for failed / clogged fans. Complete lockups in safe mode generally aren't software. Link to comment
JorgeB
After trying to troubleshoot the hardware issue post new diags after starting the server. Link to comment
drewbuntu
Sure. Thanks for the advice so far. I set the memtest running but am away for the weekend so I'll get to see how it does with 2 days of testing. Will post new diags when I get home Link to comment
drewbuntu
Memtest ran continuously. No ram problems. Diagnostics included. Other hardware tests recommended? server-diagnostics-20180805-1515 (1).zip Link to comment
JorgeB
Reassign the unassigned cache device and start the array, if still unmountable try the recovery steps on the first post but for the other cache device. Link to comment
drewbuntu
So I was able to get the drives to mount but I had to clear them and start fresh (learned the hard way I should have mirroring). Now I'm just troubleshooting my hardware... Link to comment
