Google built-in stuff to Google Drive then rclone it down to my server.

I like PhotoSync. It works on Android and iOS.  It has a setting that as soon as it connects to your home wifi, it will start uploading.

I think its $3 or $5 for the app on each device.

I use Nextcloud on my UnRaid Server for various tasks, uploading photos and videos from our phones is one of them.

There are apps for iOS and android available.

On Android i use Syncthing, with my server setup to Receive only and Ignore Delete for the Android photo folder. The folder on my server is backed up along with the rest of my server data.

ok thank you for all these good replies.. I will check them all out and see what I like the best... I appreciate it.. 🙂

I also use syncthing, it's handy for more than just photos too

I'm using Owncloud, there is an option to sync photos in settings in the Android/iOS app.

Another vote for PhotoSync. Set it and forget it, both Android and iOS

Hi there,

This is an old topic, but I wanted to add my experience.

Huawei Phones have a back up service that connects phones directly to the smb of any home servers.

There is no need of a third party app. It can back up hundreds of Gbits on the server incrementally.

Does your different phones have the same service?

Just wondering as I'm planning to change phone brand by the end of the year to Samsung.

Thanks
