  • Unraid OS Version 7.0.0-beta.2 available

    ljm42

Thanks for your feedback! Unraid 7.0.0-beta.2 is now available, details in the release notes. Everyone running -beta.1 is encouraged to upgrade

This is BETA software. Please use on test servers only.

This announce post is perfect for quick questions or comments, but if you suspect there will be back and forth for your specific issue, please start a new topic in the Prereleases board. Be sure to include your diagnostics.zip.

    Upgrade steps for this release

    1. Read the release notes.
    2. As always, prior to upgrading, create a backup of your USB flash device:  "Main/Flash/Flash Device Settings" - click "Flash Backup".
    3. Update all of your plugins. This is critical for the Connect, NVIDIA and Realtek plugins in particular.
    4. If the system is currently running 6.12.0 - 6.12.6, we're going to suggest that you stop the array at this point. If it gets stuck on "Retry unmounting shares", open a web terminal and type:
      umount /var/lib/docker

The array should now stop successfully.

    5. If you have a recent release or Unraid Connect installed:
      • Open the dropdown in the top-right of the Unraid webgui and click Check for Update, then press More options and switch to the Next branch. You may be prompted to sign in to access the Next branch. Select the appropriate version and choose "View changelog to Start Update". More details in this blog post
    6. If you don't have the Check for Update option in the upper right corner:
      • Either install the Unraid Connect plugin or upgrade to 6.12.10 first. Then check for updates as described above.
    7. Wait for the update to download and install
    8. If you have any plugins that install 3rd party drivers (NVIDIA, Realtek, etc), wait for the notification that the new version of the driver has been downloaded.
    9. Reboot

Quick question. Was it on purpose or accident that the new default ip6tables rule for forwarding is drop?

Looks like Docker is doing this, we're looking into it

Is this a Part of the Mover Improvements?

Don't worry, we won't forget to put this in the release notes when it is ready :)

    From the OP

Was kinda hoping that the answer would be that Arc GPU's are not supported with the current kernel.
I'll make a post in the prereleases thread.

    Thanks :)

Couple of graphical anomalies in edge:

Both of them in the VM edit screen:

I'm kind of migrating to a new unraid hardware and since I'm doing a "clean" start for everything that's not on the main array i used a new cache drive. When attempting to format the cache drive I was getting

    Quote

    kernel: emhttpd[67693]: segfault

I didn't save the entire information because I didn't know it was related to 7.0.0-beta2. I've tried numerous times in different m.2 connections and it was always the same. Rolling back to 6.12.12 made it work first time

Getting some crashes with beta 2 hoping someone can help me figure out what is going on.  Could this be macvlan?

    They are related to Thunderbolt.

P.S. there appears to be a container constantly re-starting, see if you can find which by looking at their uptimes.

I hesitate to write this post as I have no empirical evidence to support what happened to me, but I thought I would share on the basis that someone could at least run a thorough test.

Essentially, I upgraded my server to the latest Beta when it was announced. On my main server, took my chances.

This happened to coincide with me replacing a couple of disks. Didn't consider it too much of a risk as the dev was seemingly done on Pools and ZFS impementation.

Replaced one disk, all was well. Normal procedure for me, jack out disk, disk is emulated, insert larger disk, data rebuild from Parity. Wait. All good.

Immediately after that, I went to do the same procedure with another disk. I experienced very strange behavior. The Read Counters on the GUI for ALL disks went to the same and very large integer value immediately. The disk that was being replaced (that would otherwise be emulated) showed as no FS and couldn't be mounted. Disk otherwise seemed to be being rebuilt.

As the original disk wasn't a bad one. I stopped the rebuild. Rebooted and before starting the array, put the original disk back. All was well. Another reboot. Clean slate. Started replace procedure. Same weird experience. So went back to ok with original disk again.

Downgraded to Stable. Started replace procedure, all rebuilt well.

I appreciate this is potentially very unhelpful as there are no logs and this is my retrospective report. In hindsight I wish I had captured logs and or taken a photo or video, but alas I did not.

I upgraded to 7b2 on the advice of Jorge to fix a problem where two of my raid-z2 drives failed at the same time. It fixed that problem, but I'm seeing some fun new ones that are causing me work that I could do without.

I've been running it for 24 hours, and the biggest problem I've had is with cloudflared. I use a tunnel to access many of my docker services, and it cycles between being up for 5 mins and down for 10.

The pool also appeared to freeze (no read/write activity on the Main screen), so I rebooted and when it came back up it said "Wrong pool state", although that fixed itself quickly.

Let me know if any of this is related to any work being done on the beta and if you need anything from me, cos it's driving me crazy and I'm considering dropping back to v6 for the time being.

Hello there, i have an "update" message in my ZFS array it says, my question would be can i "upgrade" that safely? i COULD try it with this Pool in particular because its just games but would ask in advance :D

"pool: cache state: ONLINE status: Some supported and requested features are not enabled on the pool. The pool can still be used, but some features are unavailable. action: Enable all features using 'zpool upgrade'. Once this is done, the pool may no longer be accessible by software that does not support the features. See zpool-features(7) for details."

I gues this are the features

    "POOL  FEATURE
    ---------------
    cache
          zilsaxattr
          head_errlog
          blake3
          block_cloning
          vdev_zaps_v2"

    regards Dom

"You will see a warning about unsupported features in your existing ZFS pools. This is because the version of ZFS in 7.0 is upgraded vs. 6.12 and contains new features. This warning is harmless, meaning your pool will still function normally. In a future release we will be adding a mechanism to upgrade your pools."

    gotcha Thanks :)

I played a bit around with VM and passthrough a amd igpu (4584PX) which doesn't work. That's not a problem at all, but when I try to switch back to VNC I get this error:

    image.thumb.png.19ffd47c4b62b6da1f9a12e91392e10f.png

I had choosen AMD Raphael before and when I start the VM the whole host GUI was unresponsive so I had to do a hard reboot, because "reboot" via cmd didn't work as well (stucks at unmounting drives). I think that should never happen...
