  1. Hi, I'm back from holiday now, I have power cycled the machine and I am still getting my parity drive as "disabled". I have moved the drives about in the slots and the parity drive is still disabled. The SMART check does not show any errors. I am on Unraid 6.12.2. How do I enable my parity drive again. diagnostics attached: tower-diagnostics-20230805-2034.zip
  2. Ok, thanks. What does that mean. Possible hardware fault. How do I get the Parity back online? Do I need to do a hard power reset?
  3. I’ve rebooted, Parity is still disabled, see attached image. I can’t do a complete power cycle for a week or so.
  4. Hi, diagnostics zip file attached. I’m now going to reboot to see what happens. tower-diagnostics-20230726-0831.zip
  5. Hello, looking for some advice. I’m currently away on holiday and have receive notification of some issues with my parity drive and disk 2. I only have access via an iPad until I get home. My array currently looks like this, image 1 attached. And “fix common problems shows this, image 2. smart data is currently unavailable for both the drives with issues. What is my best course of action please.
  6. Hello, I would like to use code-server to edit my Home-Assistant (HA) config files. I have HA installed in docker on the same host machine. I have mapped the HA appdata folder into code-server and code-server can see these files and I can open the files, but code-server does not have write access so I am unable to save any changes. What is the best way to give code server write access to my HA appdata folder please. Thanks.
  7. Hello, I’m also getting the following message Critial: libusb_init failed I have checked question 4 and 5 linked above. the only error messages I can see are: root@Tower:/mnt/user/appdata/binhex-plex/Plex Media Server/Logs# cat Plex\ Media\ Server.log |grep error Aug 24, 2022 16:18:30.111 [0x1481f4dbeb00] WARN - NAT: PMP, got an error: Not Supported by gateway. ‘fatal’ and ‘corruption’ do not appear in the log. my Plex server is not starting. It was been working for a couple of years, but stopped about a week ago. Any idea how I ca; fix this?
  8. Got it working now, thank you. Just one question, Am I able to pause dockers, than stop them?
  9. Hi, trying to get this up and running. Does this docker include an MTQQ broker? Or do I need to provide my own.?
  10. If you mount the 3TB drive as an unassigned device you might be able to recover some of the data. It should still be there.
  11. This is also excellent information, I think this is what I need to do, I can just edit my script in User Scripts to call rsnapshot linking to the .conf file in /boot. thank you.
  12. Thanks this is useful. I was aware that the system ran in ram, but I was/am unsure what the extent was. Is it basically like a ‘live DVD” distro? I installed rsnapshot with the Nerd Pack plugin, maybe I need to investigate how that works, it must effectively install rsnapshot on every boot. I thought it might have edited the image file, but maybe not. Sounds like I need to create a script to copy the .conf file off the array and restart rsnapshot in every boot.
  13. Hi there, I’ve been using unraid for about a month and love it. I had installed rsnapshot and configured it to backup a VPS I have. However at the weekend I rebooted unraid and it appears the rsnapshot config file in /etc/rsnapshot.conf was not maintained. This is not a docker or plugin, it’s software installed directly into the unraid system. How can I maintain /etc/rsnapshot.conf through a reboot please.
  14. Hi there, I want to install rsnapshot www.rsnaposhot.org onto unraid so I can backup a remote server. The backup files will be copied into a user share. How and where do I install rsnapshot? Is the /root directory persitant or is it only in ram? Could anyone point me in the right direction plese. [EDIT] I found rsnapshot in the Nerd Pack plugin, problem solved. Regards, Keith
  15. DId anyone find a solution to this problem? Cheers.
  16. Yes it is. It is also required if you want to encrypt your disks.
  17. Did you ever find a solutuon to running binhex-krusader in a VNC client?
  18. [SOLVED - upon further reading I have discovered I need to set the user to root] I’ve been trying to create the link to the flash drive using this video, but I get an error saying it can’t connect. Other links are working great. Is it a permissions problem. Do I need to set this docket as ‘privalidged’?
  19. They are just standalone external USB drives, I did not think about plugging them into the server. Thanks.
  20. Hi there, I’ve currently got a home setup which includes a MacMini with 4 USB hard drives attached. Im running out of space and managing separate USB drives is hard. so I have bought a Proliant N40L and have unraid installed with 4 disks and all appears to be working. I’m now at the stage of migrating data across, I have setup shares to match the current USB hard drives (although I might rearrange this later). I was thinking I just need to mount the unraid shares on the Mac Mini and copy the data across, but I’m worried this might miss hidden files. What is the best way to copy data from the local USB hard drives to the unraid shares please. thanks Keith.
