1. According to the forum stats, 87.4% of the users here will never read a manual (or ask for directions). http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?action=stats
2. Or hit the "Help Button" when in UD's settings UD has gotten to the point where there is a lot of functionality and is not as intuitive as I'd like because it does so much. It would go a long way if those struggling with the basics would read the first two posts before asking questions. I will look at adding/improving those posts and adding to the help to try to minimize the confusion. It appears people are jumping in and expecting to click a few things and be off and running. Unfortunately, it is not that easy and UD has different functionality based on the status of a disk and whether or not it is mounted. I gave up on inline help along time ago for my project (and your project may be more complicated than mine) and just wrote a manual that the inline links to. (Although TBH I have no idea if anyone has ever read it)
3. Let me know if/when this happens so I can either moderate the app with a comment or blacklist it within CA
4. Based on this do you think I should reinstall Plex? By the way, I never named the docker, not sure where that came from... docker has a sense of humour in how it names containers (https://github.com/docker/docker/blob/master/pkg/namesgenerator/names-generator.go that don't have a name specified (I was originally incorrect -> it's not an orphan, but rather an unnamed container). TBH, since the container should have a name in the template, I'd have to assume that something got really messed up somewhere along the lines. I'd go ahead and reinstall it (use CA previous apps or the my* templates -> just make sure that there is a name in the template that appears and no funky punctuation or anything) sidebar: The naming routine also contains this little bit of code: if name == "boring_wozniak" /* Steve Wozniak is not boring */ { goto begin } lol
5. No it didn't. docker Run returned an error. Luckily the error has a simple fix. Plugins - Check For Updates - Install the dynamix webGUI update that will be available. (After that, consider going to settings - Community Applications - Auto Update Settings and enable what plugins you want to automatically update themselves (within 24 hours) as updates become available)
6. Post the screen shot of what happens when you add the container (in particular the docker run command that appears). dockerMan has a nasty habit of stating "The Command Completed Successfully" when in reality it did not and returned errors
7. Afraid that you're going to be SOL. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=42619.0
8. Why is the webGUI not displaying any of my shares, but I can see them over the network? Some of the commercial / free adblockers for Windows / (Mac?) are incorrectly flagging your unRaid server's GUI as an advertisement. In your adblocker's settings, there should be an option to "white-list" your server.
9. What is the 81% thing in your menu bar? Settings - Display Settings - Show array utilization indicator
10. Unless you named it compassionate_snousi, then its actually an orphaned image hence why version not available But, I'm a little bit surprised if it is an orphan why its actually running.
11. Correct. To to Linuxservers website for details on why this change had to be made Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk
12. You haven't had to click that button since June 2015. (Part of the reason it says "Don't Click Me - Why Are You Clicking Me?" on its pop up) Unless you're talking about Plugins - Check For Updates, in which case, yes you will now have lots of spare time on your hands to spend with your better-half. Hmmm, well in that case I would like a feature request to blow up the auto update feature into oblivion... The better-half always has something for me to accomplish [emoji51] Tell you what: I'll go back to daily updates for CA. That should solve your problem. [emoji6] Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk
13. Anywhere. Its a one time thing to run.
14. What counts as a drive against my license storage device limit? Everything that is handled by Linux as a storage device (basically everything except for your boot flash drive). This includes DVD / Bluray drives, card readers, external hard drives and the like. If you exceed your device limit (whether assigned to the array or not), you will either have to remove those devices from your service, or upgrade your license. Note that the Pro versions of unRAID have no device limits and only limit the amount of devices able to be actually assigned to the array.
15. I can't speak for why unraid only shops with us keyboards. But to make the file in /etc survive after you make whatever changes are reuired to it copy it to the flash drive then copy it back within the go file Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk
16. Store whatever files you downloaded somewhere on your flash drive. Modify /boot/config/go (/config/go on the flash drive) to include the various commands that you entered in to get everything going. That's the only real way to get something to survive a reboot
17. Best bet would be to make a backup of the appdata folder for transmission, then setup linuxserver.io or binhex versions and point it at the original appdata and see what happens.
18. While not strictly related to unRaid, this probably deserves a mention in the FAQ How do I search the forum? (No, its not always obvious) http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=32900.0 (Thanks, trurl)
19. Why am I unable to install plugins? With some user's network setup (ISP, router, etc) you may need to manually set static DNS addresses so that unRaid can communicate with the outside world. Go to Settings, Network Settings and enter in the appropriate addresses (You can always use Google's DNS server addresses which are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) In some cases, this may be caused by misconfiguration of your network bonding settings. You can try deleting /config/network.cfg on the flash drive (to restore default settings), then reboot unRaid and try again
20. Is it true? I cannot find any information about that inside the forum Here's gfjardim's comment, but I'd say that if you are having no problems, then there is no reason to switch No idea on what's happening. It's being an era since I updated this container, and I'm considering deprecating it. I do recommend you to migrate to Linuxserver's one. Best regards.
21. right click on the link and save as to your flash drive then ssh in and chmod +x whatever_the_file_name_was
http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Setting_up_lm_sensors_to_display_CPU/motherboard_temperatures_in_add-ons_such_as_SimpleFeatures Need to also install NerdPack GUI and Perl from it.
22. Might need a later version of sensors-detect... See 2 posts up
