HP Proliant / Workstation & unRaid Information Thread
Recently I had a 600gb HP SAS drive fail on me, so I have bought a few replacements (found 3 for £30 on ebay, supposedly in good working condition), I shut down the server, replaced the drives and booted it back up. The p410i detected the replaced drive so I didn't have to re-create the raid0 volume, and went on to boot into unraid. I stopped the array, selected the newly installed drive and then clicked start array... unraid crashed and the drive, which was previously fine and gave no smart warnings, then had it's fault light solid, suggesting it had failed and also when I rebooted the server I was given a SMART warning saying that imminent failure was detected...? Am I missing something with how I can replace the failed drive ? Thanks, Myles

I’d also be interested in knowing SMART data on my drives if possible, still leaning towards a h220 but with the above work around did you get this data ? Thanks, Myles

HP Proliant / Workstation & unRaid Information Thread
I currently use the onboard controller in my dl380 G7, but the plan is to move to a hba, I actually bought another g7 off social media with the aim of taking the drive cage out and expanding my drives to 16, so been waiting to do it all together. What HBA do you use ? Can you make a recommendation for the G7? Thanks, Myles

HP Proliant / Workstation & unRaid Information Thread
I don’t know if it’s a problem with the ssd not having hp firmware on it perhaps ? Has anyone else had much luck using non HP drives in dl380 g6/g7 etc ? The fact that the controller is seeing the drive kind of makes me think it’s an issue with unraid, I’ve not got any other drives and no ssd’s I can try it with Thanks, Myles

HP Proliant / Workstation & unRaid Information Thread
I think it says in one of the first posts that due to the hp controllers not having a JBOD mode the only way around this without using an add on card (lsi/hp h210/220) you have to create individual raid 0 volumes which are then presented to unraid, which can make data recovery difficult but is there another way ? Thanks, Myles

Apologies for the VERY slow reply, working from home so by the end of the day I'm tired and not been on PC much lately to worry about the quake server. Thanks for looking into that for me, I did have some playing around with it after coming across this website: http://www.3dgw.com/guides/q3a/index.php3?page=configs.htm What I want to do is I guess quite a niche set up, instagib server with rail jump and being able to configure rail shooting speed but it's such an old game type I'm not sure files are even out there to be able to do so perhaps. Thanks, Myles

Thanks, take all the time you need Instagib is a server side mod that removes all weapons apart from the rail gun, it's one shot one kill mechanic making for a fast paced game environment. A link to the mod can be found here: https://www.fileplanet.com/archive/p-4518/InstaGib-1-29h To play single player you extract the files into a folder in the same directory as baseq3 in your Q3 install, not sure how you'd do it on the server though. Thanks for looking into it for me

Ich, I have a question about the Quake 3 server. Can it be used to host an Instagib server ? There is a separate .pk3 file for instagib and it's own .cfg file, I copied these into the baseq3 folder but it still loads Quake with all weapons etc. Any ideas ? Tia Myles

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, however my IP changed the other day but I had to manually update it on duckdns.org, when I check the logs I get the following message repeated at 5 min intervals: Something went wrong, please check your settings Sat May 23 15:10:03 BST 2020 /app/duck.conf: line 1: f844c07d-6640-4969-b0af-a3535718d11e: command not found Not sure where the issue lies, my side on DuckDNS side. I don't know whether it'll make a difference, but in your nextcloud config you have two 'overwrite.cli.url' => lines, when following SpaceInvaderone's guide, he advised to replace the ip (the top iteration of 'overwrite.cli.url' in your config) with your sub domain, which you have in an additional like further down in the file. I also placed 'overwritehost' and 'overrideprotocol' directly under the first 'overwrite.cli.url'. Again not sure if that would make a difference but that's how mine is set up and working

Hi all, upload speeds still slow so I opted to load the file to a separate share on unraid and then map that share to nextcloud using the external storages add on. Next issue, is that when I created an external link for a large .7z file to be downloaded, my friend reports that the download failed (they tried a few times and it failed each time at the same point, suggests time out issue?) and in my WebGUI logging section I have the following error. Have googled but not been able to find any definitive answer on how to fix. TIA Myles

Hi all, hope everyones keeping safe in the current climate ! I have nextcloud set up and working, through reverse proxy with my own domain, awesome The issue I am having though is really slow upload speeds for a large file (79gb) of 2mb/s~, if this is normal behaviour for such a large file then fair enough but was wandering if there is anything I can do ? I've done a good amount of searching but couldn't figure out why it's uploading at such a slow rate, is it because I'm using my own domain ? Setup: unraid plus running on HP Proliant DL380 Gen7, nextcloud is cache enabled, the cache drive is a 146gb 15k SAS drive (there is plenty of space on it, 123gb) the file I'm wanting to upload is on my computer that's on the same network as the server, I have 1gb/s networking on both machines. Anymore information required let me know TIA Myles

Ahh fair enough ! You weren’t specific as to which version you meant. My server uses the java version hopefully will be updated soon

I’m sure Ich777 will reply, but was curious as to why it’s unusable? I’m running “The 1.12.2 Pack” from the team that made tekkit and the technic launcher with no problems 🙂

Hi ich777, big thank you for the work you've done ! Currently hosting a Minecraft server with a mod pack containing over 200+ mods, works a dream and had some friends connect to it as well :) I've registered a domain name and wanted to point a subdomain to the server/docker so it can be connected to via a URL, any ideas on how I could do this ? Unfortunately I'm not able to get a static IP with my ISP. TIA Myles
