  1. I would agree, it is totally related to browser. The simple fix that @trurl suggested worked immediately. @trurlthanks again. Did you try another browser?
  2. I am fortunate enough to get a Ryzen 3900 CPU which is rated at just 65w however it can be overclocked to perform like a 3900x. I am just wondering if anyone here has done overclocking of their CPU for Unraid? Is it stable? Its not like windows where you get a BSOD so now totally sure what happens in Unraid for anything that gets messed up. I obvs want to ensure all data and VMs do not get impacted in the slightest, so perhaps a slight overclock might be ok? Just looking for thoughts here. The need for this is so my VMs perform better than they do. I have Blue Iris running on one VM and it is run from the cache drive. It sometimes gets a bit slow and needs to catch up with blue iris IP camera software. I just need a very smooth and reliable experience with blue iris as it is my main security system. Any ideas on what I could do if overclocking is a stupid thing to do with unraid?
  3. thanks guys. kudos to you for all your help and support. You are what makes unraid great!
  4. Yes it does. I have a Ryzen CPU so I installed the Nvidia driver. All seems to be working fine. Just one thing is confusing me still as there has been a mention of kernels being overwritten. Once this plugin is installed, after all the pre-requisites discussed above. It wont continue to get overwritten every time unraid starts yes? Once this plugin is installed, its permanent? Just checking, please be patient with me Ali
  5. Thank you for this. According to your statement on your first post, it seems like this plugin is not needed if we install the nvidia driver by itself. "6.9.0 Beta35 and up no longer require a kernel build, but now require the Nvidia plugin by @ich777." So just to give you some background. I upgraded the OS yesterday to 6.9.0 stable and then proceeded to install nVidia driver plugin. Everything works well so far, I can see hardware acceleration working well. The GPU stats is the only thing that is now missing. What you are suggesting now is that we have to install your GPU stats plugin after installing the nvidia driver plugin. That will show GPU stats on the dashboard. Yes? Sorry just double checking because I have broken my unraid before by installing things in the wrong order.
  6. Spot on. works in FF. Cleared cache and it works in chrome now also. Thanks so much. Such a simple solution. Salute!
  7. Sorry, I dont see it there, can you please point it out with a screenshot?
  8. hi guys I am on 6.9.0 stable as of yesterday and I installed the nvidia driver however, i dont see the GPU on the main dashboard. Is there a setting I need to activate somewhere to see that?
  9. Hi guys I have a few Windows VMs on my box and I have tried to use vnc to log in once started but noVNC is showing the following error. Does anyone know how to fix this? Uncaught SyntaxError: The requested module '../core/util/browser.js' does not provide an export named 'hasScrollbarGutter' http://192.168.1.3/plugins/dynamix.vm.manager/novnc/app/ui.js?ts=20200718:11:35 SyntaxError: The requested module '../core/util/browser.js' does not provide an export named 'hasScrollbarGutter' Also, I dont know about you guys, but the VMs are now super super slow. Snails pace, even though they run of a very fast NVME cache drive. Any advice?
  10. Is there a guide for Ryzen with Quadro GPU for Plex docker? I have plex docker and a quadro p600 and no idea on how to get it to transcode with the quadro. Is there a guide I can follow somewhere?
  11. Very comprehensive write up. I am wondering if you could do a video for this and showcase how the mics can be split up and how they become available to VMs. I am also unsure if the method you warn about to try at my own risk is actually needed or not or will I get everything I need up to that point? Currently I have broken up all the iommu groups and I am seeing a warning there, I am guessing your method has nothing to do with iommu groups. Thanks for making this guide, I just need to ensure what the benefits are before I attempt this. I am not an expert and Linux is the equivalent of rocket science to me right now so I dont want to do anything that might permanently break my setup. I have a lot of data I stand to lose otherwise.
  12. I was finally able to do split out all the iommu groups and then isolate each port by doing what this post said: This allowed me to then assign a port to a VM. Nothing else worked for me. I tried about 20 suggestions but this one was the one for me
  13. Sorry for yet again bumping this old thread, I have a slightly different issue. My quad port card appears in an iommu that is shared by a lot of things on the motherboard. Its group zero. When I use the vfio command, I am able to see the ports available for VMs however I cannot use them as they conflict with the rest of the iommu group. I have tried ACS etc etc I just need to know how I can use the 4 ports exclusively for VMs. Here is what my group 0 looks like. I have highlighted the 4 ports I want to isolate and use just for VMs. IOMMU group 0:[1022:1482] 00:01.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. 14. How did you split it? Did it work in the end? I have a similar issue, I have 4 ports and I want to see them available to VMs but nothing I have tried has worked so far. What was your method? This is what my card looks like in system devices. [8086:10c9] 25:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) [8086:10c9] 25:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) [8086:10c9] 26:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) [8086:10c9] 26:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01)
  15. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me. I did look at this video and also the other thread. I tried ACS downstream, multifunction and also tried to just use the PCIE identifier in ACS, all didnt really work. What both the thread or the video doesnt show is how to split a nic which has the same pcie ID across the 4 ports. In the devices, I can see 4 with their individual addresses [8086:10c9] 25:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) [8086:10c9] 25:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) [8086:10c9] 26:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) [8086:10c9] 26:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) These 4 ports are what I want to see available in "other devices". I want to assign 1 port to each VM I am going to run. I dont know what to put in the kernel to make these 4 ports isolated from unraid and available only to VMs. Any help is much appreciated.
  16. Hi all I dont know what I am doing wrong here and I hope someone can help me out. I need to isolate a windows VM with its own network interface for security reasons. I have followed spaceinvaders guide on how to pass through However, when I assign a network port to the VM, it does not start and gives me this issue. My system devices are all in an attachment as well as the flash drive settings with the vfio. What have I done wrong here? The VM works when I remove the dedicated network port but not without. Is there a quick fix on this?
  17. Thanks for that. I think i managed to stub the network card that the previous VM was using as the network card was changed. Thanks for this. After stubbing the network card and updating the VM config to use the new network card, this appear.
  18. I have recently changed most of my hardware on the Unraid box. All the forum messages that I read everywhere said that everything should be detected as before and Unraid won't bother you about any hardware changes and will just work. This is certainly not true. Since I have updated my hardware, I have had the following issues on my unraid server None of my Windows VMs work, I get the following pop-up. Once I do try to start a VM, the cache drives appears in the unassigned devices and I cannot copy anything over to the NAS after this happens, the error I see is: Unraid Cache disk message: 26-02-2021 02:15 Warning [HISTORY] - Cache pool BTRFS missing device(s) Samsung_SSD_970_EVO_1TB_S467NF0K702953Y (nvme0n1) I have a PCIe card with 4 additional 1GB ports, these ports are no longer available to Windows VMs. I had each of the 4 ports dedicated to each Windows VM, perhaps that's why they are not starting. I have tried to change some VM settings here but to no avail, I am unable to fix any existing VMs. Dockers on the other hand have retained their settings and seem to be working fine. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix these issues?
  19. I have 2 very loud seagate drives in my system. They are desktop hard drives and I just want to get rid of them. Here is a look at my config right now. The 2 noisy drives are the ones that start with "ST" What I would like to do is change the configuration with the following: Change the parity 2 drive to parity 1 Change Disk 3 to Parity 2 (there isnt much data on it) Remove the 2 offending drives I know my config will change from a 7 disk array to a 6 disk one, but I am ok with that. I still have a lot of capacity to play with one drive removed. I am unsure of how to do this. Whenever a disk is removed, the array just says drive missing and no option to redo the drive configuration so that everything is in order and the parity is complete. If I can get some guidance on this, that would be awesome.
  20. I think I have an issue with the NVME drives I have. I have 2 installed and I am trying to use 3 16x slots. Could that be the issue?
  21. Hi guys Where is the thread showing us how to remove the bios? I cant seem to locate the link in the comments.
  22. I have done a major hardware change on my box. CPU and motherboard fully upgraded to Ryzen 9 3900 and x470 mobo. There are a couple of changes on the network side. I am no longer using the SFP+ ports on the ASROCK as the motherboard has changed to an MSI gaming board. I have a Mellanox connectx3 installed but it does not show up in devices or the interfaces I have 3 16x slots and I have installed the following on them. Quadro p600 card Connectx 3 SFP+ nic LSI SAS controller I plan to install another quad port nic in another PCIe slot 1x as I don't have any more 4x slots. Its on order. Is there a reason why the connect x3 would not show up? Here are all the devices I have in the attached pic
  23. Another really quick question. When the hardware is changed, I suspect there may be issues with the assigned CPU cores for the VMs. Will it just be a matter of assigning the new cores before powering up the VMs?
