  1. Off topic but thinking about making my first "crypto investment". So far I just mine on nicehash with my gaming PC's at night and an old vega 56 in my farming machine that I am debating mining vs selling. I have built up a few hundred worth of bitcoin doing that which is nice. Thinking about converting ~$100 worth of it to ravencoin since it has a halving coming up at the end of the year and that generally leads to price spikes. Some are saying it could go as high as $1 but even if it went to 0.25 cents that is a 5x return at the current price. Figure it is worth risking $100 on it. Do ya'll do any other crypto mining/trading?
  2. Very interesting, I remember trying out the buster docker at one point but it said it was a beta so I just kinda forgot about it figuring it still had bugs that needed to be worked out. Is it out of beta now? If so then that could be a game changer for me as I could create GUI dockers based on it quite easily. Not as lightweight as a dedicated docker but should work. I suppose that I could have the user.sh script start the GUI program automatically as well so that it could start watching the channels without having to manually enter the container? What is the difference between the buster and bullseye containers besides the version?
  3. Interesting, although the forks already have your key when you set them up, so seems like a waste of time to me? I consider all the coins I am mining now compermised but since I don't really value them I am not that worried. When I quit mining I plan to create clean wallets and transfer all the funds to the clean ones.
  4. Not that I have seen, a lot of them barely work with the regular program lol. I am running windows right now and don't have the time to build dockers for each of them. If they all had dockers ready to go I would consider the time to swap to linux but as it is, it would take too much time.
  5. Ok, got Flax Spare Chiagreen Seno Goji hpool running stable it appears. You have done a lot more research then me, what order would you recommend adding new blockchains in from most stable / best possibility of being worth mining down the road.
  6. Just realized I forgot to include a link to the tartube github: https://github.com/axcore/tartube
  7. Just finished the test and while it did seem to limit the quality to 720p, it also downloaded a few videos in as little as 240p strangly. It is VERY slow though compared to when I ran the same test with tartube. Worst case I guess I could spin up a VM just for tartube, seems like a waste though lol.
  8. Very interesting, the UI was too simple and I didn't even notice it had another area for downloads. Testing it now. Thanks for the heads up! I still think that tartube would make for a good docker though, in my quick testing of it I really liked the feature set and options compared to this one. Also more intuitive.
  9. I am using the unraid CA docker for that program and this is all I get: I have like 6 or 7 dockers installed right now that download youtube and none of them let me select the quality sadly. 😪 Also after trying tartube on windows, it really is a step ahead of the rest as well would seem to make a good candidate for a docker.
  10. This is a perfect case for dockers, I wish each blockchain had it's own docker. This way if one crashed it would only kill that one and I would know which one it was that started the chain of events. Also you can map different ports to the program to address conflicts easily. Restarted it a few times today as it keeps crashing. I am now back to "basics" with just 5 running, these all ran fine together before so should do ok now. Will slowly add one a day or so and see how it goes if this works.
  11. Yes, the quality setting only has a "max" option. Not sure why it is even there honestly.
  12. Tartube is the only youtube downloader I have found that allows you to download a channel AND select the quality of the downloaded videos (sorry, the kids do not need massive 4k videos taking up space on the drive, 720p is just fine for them lol). It is also a very feature rich downloader in it's own right as well. The channel watch feature is quite nice. A perfect candidate for a home server IMHO. I have stumbled through trying to make a GUI docker a few times with mixed results. Before I make a mess of it I was wondering if anyone else is interested in doing it properly? https://github.com/axcore/tartube
  13. No idea, everything crashed again last night, I think that some of the blockchains are conflicting and causing issues. Going to just start the ones that used to be stable this time around and see how that goes.
  14. lol, I have been having real issues getting them all to run nicely with eachother. Keep getting crashed blockchains and some won't sync at all. Restarted it 3x today trying to get everything to play nice, I think I have 15 or 16 running now.
  15. lol, wise idea. Although something tells me you won't be looking through a dump for 180,000,000 worth of bitcoin with these keys.
  16. Ditto. It would be amazing if it could be dockertized like the machinaris docker. It already supports chia and flax. If the rest could be added it would be the one stop shop.
  17. ok, cool. Then I guess I will create a script to stagger the startup of the blockchains. I just had to reboot the server after changing the cord it is plugged into and it has been pegged at 100% for 2 hours so far.
  18. Sad that you can't run Reg ECC memory. I picked up a few sets of 128gb for $80 each. Course my farmer is in the same boat, has to run normal unregistered dimms. Luckily it came with 32gb. It generally sits around 20gb used.
  19. So starting the GUI's without clicking on the key works?
  20. I figured out how to launch the GUI's for each program awhile back when setting up the GPU mining. start "" "Full path to program here" The blank double quotes are the key to getting it to work. The issue here is that the blockchains sit at the select key screen without user interaction. I am not sure if they start mining without clicking the key. I know linux has a way or running programs in the background so they are not connected to the terminal window. I assume windows has that as well if you want to run the CLI versions of the blockchains.
  21. lol, I never had the money or honestly the need for that much space. I am sitting around ~100TB of used space right now and it is growing but it would take me a LONG time to reach 1PB. Not really sure what people are storing to use that much space to be honest. At the current rate I am only gaining maybe ~10tb/year.
  22. lol, there are home labs with 1pb. Heck I have 50tb farming and another 108tb in my array + another ~100tb in backup drives.
  23. lol, I have not even bothered to see where the logs are much less sort out how to read them.
  24. lol, good for you! Most of my GUI's die after a day or 2 but they are still using CPU so I am hoping they are working.
  25. lol, I just can't bring myself to toss anymore drives at it, most likely will quit farming in a month or 2 if things don't improve. It is barely paying for the electricity right now....assuming I can even figure out a way to convert the XCH into something usable.
