I had low and nominal swapped by mistake. I corrected it after I pasted it in to my config but I forgot to correct it when I copied it over to the post above. It’ll do fine for now. The low figure is set from the solar battery link you posted in the other thread.

ahh every days a school day. will re-edit my ups.conf file and make sure its enabled. thanks for the advice @IGHOR as always,.

having an issue making the above settings persist in ups.conf as you can see below. It’s disappeared. how do I keep them in the ups.conf file? all works when in battery mode. edit nothing works until I put it all back in.

How often does NUT poll the battery voltage? after setting the high/nominal/low values. If I refresh the page the charge jumps between 97% to 100% do I need to set a polling time?

Would there be any benefit to TPM being a core part of unRAID? for instance every mention of windows 11 and TPM is bitlocker encryption. Could unRAID use TPM to encrypt your array or could any other benefits/features of TPM be worthwhile additions to unRAID’s core functionality? I’m running old hardware, 3rd gen i7. I just googled the motherboard manual and it mentions TPM 1.2 but I couldn’t tell you if it’s a module, software or a bios setting. the point i’m trying to make is with UnRAID’s latest SSL login and tying it your forum login, could TPM be an added optional benefit to protecting your server?

so i've put these values into ups.conf and its now showing 100% battery on status. so high = 27.50v [NUT says that that is current battery voltage now] nominal = 24v low = 21.4v how do i go about doing a calibration? do i literally kill the power and watch the % drop?

You’re right. The manual only shows 12v. But typically if you post something inaccurate, you get helpful responses. 👍 see attached screenshots of NUT which don’t show a lot either. so based on your link. high = 13v nominal = 12v low = 10.7v although NUT says battery voltage 27.10? So the batteries in series? so high = 27.10v nominal = 24v low = 21.4v

How would I go about calibrating NUT?

@IGHOR YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!! powered down my unraid system. removed usb key plugged into laptop and copied your file over. back into machine, boot up and autodetect set custom driver. it flippin' works! whilst i don't get BATTERY CHARGE % RUNTIME LEFT NOMINAL POWER UPS LOAD i do get UPS LOAD % when i kill power to the UPS, unraid knows about it! i've set it to power down the system after 4 minutes of battery time. when i turn power back on, the unraid recognises it is! all telegram notifications work as well. thank you so much for doing this!

@IGHOR Can I be really cheeky and ask that you make a step-by-step guide to do all this please? would love to update NUT and get my Powercool working. edit. To add, it’ll make all of us who to update it and add more UPSs to it a lot more willing! . 👍

It was recommended to me on unraid subreddit to spin up an Ubuntu VM. Pass through the usb connection and make it the host. Then make unraid NUT the slave and it would read the host. wish the plugin maker would reply or update this flipping build. No idea on that either.

just trying to spin up an Ubuntu VM but getting "GUEST HAS NOT INITIALISED THE DISPLAY (YET)" allocation is 1M as well: which i cannot seem to figure out how to expand? Logs don't have anything that jumps out at me. not really sure what to do next? the Windows ones work fine!?

since @dmacias doesn't seem to respond to PMs or mentions in this thread. how does one update NUT to incorporate latest driver additions that the NUT makers have made? I'm keen to get the Powercool UPS i have working with it and from the NUT mailing list, they have done some development that could mean that unRAID would be able to communicate with it with a new driver without me having too much issue. i just don't know where/how to begin adding in the relevant bits to enable this possibility. any ideas?

woke up to a telegram that array had read errors for a change i managed to get diagnostics zip before attempting to reboot whats recommended next steps to diagnose issues? been faultless last 30+ days amjam-diagnostics-20210526-2030.zip

thats because that is what it should be doing. when it initiates power off it stops the array, containers and VMs before it then powers off. But if the array isn't stopping in time, then you're getting parity checks on reboot. you might need to reduce the time it runs on battery to give you more shut down time on battery not fully sure. mine doesn't work at all at the moment. but it should complete a clean power off each time. its normally a container thats holding it up. what do you diagnostic/logs say?

Put more time in NUT before power off.

yeah am looking for more of an overall what unraid was using with filters to see container use etc. I’ll check out your suggestions 👍

Hey! is there a plugin available that can display on the dashboard how much data has moved? Could show me how much nzbget has downloaded the past 30 days or how much Plex has sent out in remote playback. just curious what’s available.

Looks promising for Powercool. @dmacias please can you incorporate this into NUT for unraid?
