  1. Thanks johnnie. Ordering a new controller now.
  2. Are most controllers backwards compatible? Can I use a pcie 3 on a pcie-2? If so I would get another hp220
  3. I updated plugins for Dyn etc.. and after update I have run into this again. This is the same drive as this post was created about. Question I have is what would be a good controller to replace this SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 PCI-Express x4 Low Profile SAS RAID Controller with. I am only running 4 ports off of this controller so a 4 port would be ok. 4. That may be true but they are also in the business to sell drives/enclosures. So if a enclosure goes sour after 2 years, they are hoping the customer just buys a new one. Where as in unraid customer is looking for a longer life span from a drive. Having a new drive with high temps will only cause a shorter life span in my opinion. I shucked all mine and then pre-cleared with temps no higher than 32. They now are in array with average temp of 27-31. I am hoping these will give me a long life.Same as the drives I replaced which were 5-7 years old and no errors on them.
  5. Thank jonathanm. I have it up and running. took some time with restarting router and dvr to new ports but I think it will be worth while in the long run.
  6. I guess that is what I am confused about. If I use duckdns for a domain to my static ip. Any connection to that domain name will open the dvr viewer. How to get other internal ip's on lan available to the static ip is where I am confused on. Whether that be on port 80 or whatever.
  7. I would like to set this docker up but have some issues involving conflicting ports. I have a stand alone dvr recording 18 security cameras, This dvr has port 80, 8082 and 443 used for outside access. I have a static IP which the dvr forwards to. I think I can change ports on the dvr and then set the router to forward those ports but the 80 port for web access gets me messed up with how to distinguish between the dvr internal ip and and my other computers on the network, Any help on this or direction would be appreciated..
  8. I have not had any problems with the 8TB drive as parity. Last parity check I ran was on 2017-04-14,took 21 hr,48 min,20 sec at 101.9 MB/s with 0 errors. That is on 17 drives.
  9. Option 3 is how I would go about it. Replace parity with 8TB drive , let parity rebuild and then use the old parity drive as a replacement for disk 5. No need to pre-clear, just format and then rebuild disk 5. Here is a great price on 8TB drive
  10. I have had no problems with linuxserver/plex for the past year or so. I just was thinking that most of the media info was probably in those folders (cache, media and metadata) and might shorten the scan time down on if ashman70 were to switch containers to the linuxserver/plex container. I know that scanning a large library in can take a looooooooong time.
  11. Should copy your cache, media and metadata folders to another location and set up the new container. then copy those folders back into the new container and no need to index media.
  12. Amazon has them at 179.99 now Seagate Expansion 8TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STEB8000100)
  13. Yes I am surprised also, that is why my initial question. Hoping someone would know. But I get this error in log when testing connection. 14. Crap. no go on that. Thought it was pulling from my couch and sickbeard.
  15. Well it is indexing TV and Movies. This will take awhile. Will report back tomorrow.
  16. Will this also work with sickbeard instead of sickrage? Have over 350 tv shows and I dont want to rebuild a database again.
  17. Well after your suggestion from this post I moved one controller to the PCI 3 slot. Not satisfied I bought a HP220 controller for that slot and removed one SASLP controller. My speeds have since been doubled from my earlier parity checks, How do you know it is from the SASLP and not from the HP220 controller? Right now my data build is moving at 105 mb/s
  18. Thank you and will look into all the options above. First time anything like this has happened.
  19. reboot and ran SMART on disk. ST8000AS0002-1NA17Z_Z840PL97-20170413-0910.txt
  20. On the main array tab that disk is showing 6 errors.. attached syslog just to be thorough.
  21. Everything was running smooth last nite. Woke up this morning to a red ball. Looked in log and see this: program smartctl is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO. At the moment I am trying to move files off that drive, needless to say slowly. TrashBin-diagnostics-20170413-0743.zip TrashBin-syslog-20170413-0819.zip
  22. I started with the drive with the least amount of data on it and used unbalance to spread that out between the drives. I chose the share folders to move on that drive. I do not use disk shares and have user shares. With that said, I set the setting in unbalanced to 50% instead of the 450 Mb size. I calculated and could see where all the files would go and to which drives. Happy I hit the move button. It was taking about 4 - 5 hours for each TB to move, depending on how much activity was going on with the server. IE Plex or Kodi streaming. I would normally start my move at night and by morning it was complete. Once the move in unbalance was done, I went to main array tab and looked at the disk I had just emptied to make sure no files were left. My user share folders were still on the disk but nothing inside of them. Make sure to check them since at one point my mover had moved files into those share folders. Once satisfied everything was empty and only user shares remained, I stopped array. I then set the format on the empty disk to xfs and restarted the array. Once array was started Fix Common Problems plugins pops a message up in red, ignore that and down by stop/start button for array, you will see the empty disk on left side and a format box. Check the format box and the disk will now format to xfs. Takes a few minutes. Once done I re-run Fix problems plugin and make sure all is good. Now you have an empty disk formatted in xfs. You can use unbalance again to continue until done with your array. Parity was valid through out the whole process My conversion took roughly 2 weeks to finish 17 drives. I did not stay at it all the time though. Good luck.
  23. 16GB for me with running some dockers and plugins and have never run into any problems so far with lack of memory. Highest usage I have seen is 3GB.
