  1. Hi! I installed this plugin which seems amazing (as all other Squid plugins ) but it seems once turbo is enabled, it never spins down again the harddisks . I'm not using any cache disk, just an array with 5 disks + 1 parity. What can it be? UPDATE: Sorry, I'm not sure right now if it's because this plugin. I've disabled it and the HDDs remain up almost always
  2. Any advance in this matter? I have seen now unRAID has support for VFS_FRUIT with the option called "Enhanced OS X interoperability:" I've enabled that option for all my shares, but Time Machine keeps offering the server for backups just through AFP as usual (not visible though SMB).
  3. Hi everybody! I have a question about Airvideo HD: Is it possible to set a static PIN for it? I ask because each time the docker is restarted or updated, the PIN is modified so I have to reconfigure all the devices I use to connect to the docker, and all the thumbnails also are missed and need to be created again as it's considered a brand new server from the app side, slowing down things. Do you guys have any other alternative to avoid this problem? Maybe just manually adding the server? I mostly use the app at home with all devices inside the same local network.
  4. +1 Really desperate looking for alternatives to proprietary solutions, and reliable ones. Won't try owncloud after reading this:
  5. As that method didn't work for you, why don't you try editing /crashplan/bin/run.conf file directly? It worked fine for me. There're two settings there to assign memory to: memory for the service, and memory for the client. I assigned more memory to both (4GB to the service, and 1GB to the client). I have 1.5TB to backup right now, but I added more to prevent future issues as I add more data in the future.
  6. Thanks for the idea! Yes, it seems it was that! After adding more RAM to Crashplan it seems to work fine again! Thank you!!
  7. I have stopped the Crashplan docker until this get fixed. It's generating a lot of stress and heat on the HDDs and CPU because it's constantly restarting a scan over the same files again and again . Does it has something to do with the Crashplan 4.8.0 release maybe? My Crashplan docker's log is plagued with the same error repeating constantly: ./run: line 20: 6452 Killed $JAVACOMMON $SRV_JAVA_OPTS -classpath "$TARGETDIR/lib/com.backup42.desktop.jar:$TARGETDIR/lang" com.backup42.service.CPService > /config/log/engine_output.log 2> /config/log/engine_error.log /opt/startapp.sh: line 22: 6572 Killed ${JAVACOMMON} ${GUI_JAVA_OPTS} -classpath "./lib/com.backup42.desktop.jar:./lang:./skin" com.backup42.desktop.CPDesktop > /config/log/desktop_output.log 2> /config/log/desktop_error.log ERROR: openbox-xdg-autostart requires PyXDG to be installed
  8. I begun since the last days to have exactly the same issue . I answer to get updates on the issue and to share your pain
  9. Hi guys! Thanks for your answers! I didn't read them until today! Nice that you have some experience with Synology apps. I was not meaning that their apps were better, just that they look nice and simple . I already use Plex, and also Air Video HD, and both are great for video, I don't need alternatives there. My two "things I would like to improve" are files syncing and music. I've been researching also about Resilio (BTSync). I used the beta some years ago and I ended up uninstalling it when it got impossible to delete one folder (instead of also deleting it on the other devices, it was recreated again on my main computer), but it was beta, so maybe better is more reliable. I like very much the simplicity to connect both over LAN and WAN, and the flexibility to selectively sync just some folder. I think I'll give it a second try . Which docker/plugin do you recommend me for Resilio? I've seen there's one "official" docker from Limetech, but it seems it's not updated frequently . About Syncthing, while it looks promising, I thing it's not ready for production yet . I'll try it when it reaches 1.0 release Thanks guys for your ideas! Syncthing I've found very reliable and I generally ignore version numbering as it's so arbitrary, if the devs had renamed it V1.0 it wouldn't change a thing other than your perception and SABnzbd a very popular app for many years only reached v1.0.0 on the 15th March this year. Yes, yes, I know about that, but after researching a little about Syncthing, the only thing that stopped me was the setup. It seems to be quite difficult, without a GUI, just using the command line . By the way, Resilio is not an option anymore. I did a test between two Macs and one iPhone with just 5 files. One of them was a Numbers spreadsheet. To test it, I just edited that file after it was synced, just to check how it behaves with edits and versions. Right after editing it, it propagated to the other Mac and iPhone as a 0kb file, and when I tried to reopen it on the same Mac I used to edit the first time, it was corrupted too. In less than 10 minutes, the first BIG issue, so I won't use it

  11. Hi again everybody I have one question about Air Video HD: is it normal that it takes so long to build previews for a new folder with videos? I have reinstalled the docker after 6.2 upgrade, and it had to rebuild screenshots for just one Modern Family season (.mkv, 720p), and it takes a lot of time. The CPU raises usage to round 30-40% for more than 10 minutes, just to index around 15 files. Status report from unRAID says about 50% of the RAM is free while Air Video is working (RAM on the server is 8GB).
  12. I'm considering start using BT Sync (Resilio) as an alternative to all the limited capacity cloud solutions, but I'm not 100% sure if the support within unRAID is active . unRAID could be a really nice platform to use it, having the server as an "always on" peer to share the files to the clients, but I cannot find a docker with active development. There're some other dockers like Plex where the updates are automatic within the docker. Could it be done the same way within unRAID? This official docker seems to be outdated, and the others I found using Community Apps have the same problem Any tips about its stability, reliability or alternatives?
  13. Thanks for your answer. Ok, I understand it now, but the problem with settings disappearing remains . Does it happens only to me?
  14. Hi, I used previously Transmission docker by gfjardim and as now is deprecated I moved to Linuxserver one, trying to keep the settings (the ones behind the Wrench icon), but they are not saved anymore . Even if I delete settings.json, and the docker create them again, every time I restart the docker, all is restored to the default settings again . What am I doing wrong? I just kept the old settings just to keep the old torrents I previously downloaded, but even if I delete the whole "transmission" folder within appdata folder, so your plugin recreates it from scratch, settings are not saved . Here're my settings: Container Path: /config /mnt/disk3/appdata/transmission/ Container Path: /downloads /mnt/user/MEDIA/ Container Variable: PUID 99 Container Variable: PGID 100 By the way: what are these PUID and PGID settings for?
  15. The problem is when they're bundled together it's more points of failure within the container and updating these becomes a nightmare. Regardless whether the nextcloud/mariadb interface is within the container or on the host it's the same process, so I disagree with your assessment of it increasing the points of failure. Have you looked at the Nextcloud thread and specifically the install guide I've written for it? OK! As I told, I'm not a programmer, so I thought there would be less points of failure for us the users About the guide, yes, I took a look at the guide here: https://www.linuxserver.io/index.php/2016/07/28/installing-nextcloud-on-unraid/ I decided to stop reading at "Setting Up An Apache Reverse Proxy" . Just too much to what I'm looking for . Anyway, again, thank you very much for your answers! Setting up the reverse proxy is an optional step. I didn't know. Then I could maybe give it a try . Thank you again!

  17. We have a Nextcloud container, but we never really formally released owncloud, although we did have a version in our beta repo. Hi Linuxserver.io team! Does it means Owncloud docker will be deprecated and you'll keep updating only Nextcloud? I'm looking for a centralized cloud without worrying about space (I'm tired of Dropbox/iCloud/Google Drive EULAs and prices). I see that the simplest to install and use would be Owncloud, as it includes the DB and everything needed to deploy it, but after this comment I'm not sure if I should install it if I want long term reliability. Thanks for all your dockers! You guys are making unRAID even more awesome! I can't see the point in continuing with two essentially identical applications and I guess we'll stick with nextcloud. Regardless we are certainly moving away from bundling applications together, so at this point I would advise not using the Owncloud container with bundled DB... Thanks for your fast answer! Sad to read you'll not bundle them together . Nextcloud/Owncloud could be more popular if it were easier to install . To me, more independent dockers just mean more points of failure . I've tried Owncloud in the past installed in a hosting provider, and it was difficult to keep it running smoothly (I'm not a programmer or web developer). So I think I'll keep looking for other solution.

  20. Hi! I'm struggling to get Airvideo HD updated within unRAID 6.2 . I get always this error: Pulling image: dmaxwell/airvideohd:latest IMAGE ID [latest]: Pulling from dmaxwell/airvideohd. 21. There's an entry in the docker FAQ about this Sorry but, where's that FAQ? I can't find the "Docker FAQ" inside the UnRAID interface, or even in docker.org or Google By the way: Does Community Apps plugin check for/install updates for dockers also? I cannot find info about that within the CA plugin interface. It just seems to update plugins, but not dockers. Am I right? Cheers! CA will show you if there's an update available for a docker app but will not install it Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk Thanks Squid! I read in another thread you recommended to delete the docker repositories, as CA manages it by itself. Right after upgrading my server to 6.2, all the dockers showed an available upgrade, but just inside the Docker tab, not inside the CA tab. Am I doing anything wrong? It should show it in the installed apps section. But admittedly it's been a while since I've checked that section. Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk I can't see it . Here's a screenshot of my installed apps window. The two dockers marked with the arrow need to be updated (as said by the native Docker tab) I also use your wonderful "Fix Common Problems" plugin. I fixed many things I had wrong, and how it's happy everywhere (thank you again, by the way )
  22. It is a 'sticky' at the top of the Docker section of the forum. I'll check it! Thank you!

  25. Hi people! . I'm a happy UnRAID user but, since I'm installing a couple of Synology NAS to a couple of customers, I find some of the apps they have quite interesting. Specially two: the sync app, and the music app. At my home office I use all Apple products (2 macbooks, 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, 1 Mac Mini and 1 Hackintosh). I don't like any of the public cloud services out there (Dropbox, iCloud, etc.) and I'm thinking, as I have tons of space on my own server and a good internet connection (80up/80down Mbps ), why can't I have something to sync some folders between the Macs and some music from unRAID to the iphone/ipad? I've tried Owncloud some years ago, and I was not really convinced (I don't want docs/spreadsheets functions online, I use local apps on the Macs). It was not as reliable as it should. I'm using Google Drive, but I have to keep looking at the space I use and delete files from time to time. And I don't like iTunes way of syncing music to the iOS devices (I don't want cables to sync music to the phones). Is anybody out there in a similar situation with suggestions or success stories? . The two main things I look for are: simplicity and reliability.
