  1. I would still like to know what to look for to see why S3 Sleep is not performing as it used to. Any advice on what I should search for in the logs?
  2. Hello bonienl - I am finding that while my server responds to the Sleep button on the UI, it is ignoring the S3 Sleep plugin when left idle. I am fairly sure I have enabled S3 Sleep in the BIOS but since the server is running headless it is not convenient to get a monitor on it. Is there a terminal command to check whether S3 Sleep is firing as expected and if any messages are returned indicating why it was prevented from sleeping? The server spec is as in my signature.
  3. Squid - it wasn't blacklisted - there was file corruption as bonienl suggested. I decided to rebuild on a new flash and will request a key transfer later. Looks like the blacklist error was just a symptom of my underlying corrupted flash.
  4. I have not found which file got corrupted on my machine but I decided to take a fresh USB stick, use the LimeTech unRAID USB Creator tool to make a new 6.4.0 install and request a Trial key. My original drive is back at 6.3.5 which has allowed me to make a note of my drive order so once Parity has rebuilt, I am free to perform the task of reinstalling all the plugins and dockers (bleargh).
  5. I have reverted to 6.3.5 by copying the contents of previous to root and rebooted. The configuration (apart from my two cache drives) was immediately picked up properly and the Plus license was correctly identified. I could start the server without errors once I had reassigned my cache drives. I do however think there is file corruption on this drive since Win10 reports it but cannot identify what it is to fix it. When I copied the contents of the USB stick to another spare one, the file corruption went with it. I do have a clean USB stick and will do a clean install and migrate the license key. I will mark this issue as Solved since it was not a blacklist problem.
  6. Thanks but it looks like the UEFI issue was a red herring. I renamed EFI- to EFI, popped the original flash drive back in and rebooted. I could see the difference in the shell since the typeface appears differently between Legacy and UEFI. I still got the error spam. I think, although I could see UEFI prefixing the flash drive in the BIOS, the presence of the EFI- folder shows I was booting in Legacy after all. How much of the syslog can I post with its errors without giving any personal information away?
  7. I have just transferred my entire UNRAID flash drive over to a new one in preparation for requesting a new key, ran make_bootable.bat and tried to bring unRAID up. I get the same thing... loads of error spam in the log and no GUID detected so the new flash drive is reported as blacklisted. Next I will try the USB device on one of the rear panel sockets instead of hanging off a USB 3.0 cable inside the case (although 6.3.5 was perfectly happy booting off that). I wonder if it is something to do with UEFI? The 6.3.5 version was booting off UEFI because I have a SAS card which takes ages to boot if Legacy is used. Maybe 6.4.0 is confused by this? === EDIT : moving the USB to the rear port instead of the internal cable made no difference.
  8. Odd... Win10 did detect an issue with the USB stick but then found nothing to correct when I asked it to. Ejecting and reinserting the drive in Win10 and the issue did not reappear. The drive appears readable as normal. I put the drive back into the unRAID box and there was no change - it still booted, spewed errors and reported it was blacklisted. jonathanm has suggested I contact Tom as a duplicate GUID may have been registered since I originally purchased that USB drive. I do have good quality spares fortunately.
  9. OK, I can certainly do that... but any idea what might have happened since the machine was working perfectly on 6.3.5?
  10. I have been happily using 6.3.5 on the system in my signature and today decided to update to 6.4.0 using the "Download Now" link on the bottom of the Main page. It successfully downloaded the update and advised that I should reboot. I stopped the server, selected reboot and then ended up at a blank unRAID screen with no devices. In the banner area at the top was the message "unRAID server - flash device blacklisted". I have tried capturing diagnostics to attach but nothing is being saved to my downloads folder in Firefox. I can however view the syslog and it is spamming errors like these... 11. For those of us with Plex Pass, do we just stop the docker, edit the XML, edit the VERSION field and change it from latest to plexpass, apply and restart? When I do that it seems to keep showing linuxserver/plex:latest on the Docker screen.
  12. Actually the movies were not bought on the Apple store - they are my own. I hold all the MKV files in an archive but took the decision to use ffmpeg to convert them to a more Apple-friendly format up front so we don't have to transcode every single time they are watched. The NAS is capable of transcoding up to two streams at a time so I can test using the MKV rather than the M4V version to see if I made a transcoding error. When we watch a movie I can see on the Plex UI that the video is streaming direct but the audio is being transcoded from 5.1 (or whatever) down to stereo which is all our TV will handle at the moment.
  13. I am having random loss of audio when playing movies. It has been reported a couple of months ago on the Plex Support forums without resolution and I wondered if there was a way I could work round the issue to be able to use Plex? Yes, I am a Plex Pass user. The symptoms are that I will start a movie on the Apple TV, everything will start as expected with video and audio playback then, within the first ten minutes the audio will drop out but the video will continue. If I press pause and then play on the remote, the audio will immediately resume at whatever place the video had got to. Then, after a few more minutes the audio will drop off again. It does not appear to be dependent on which movie I watch... it seems to be all of them. It does not appear to be at a fixed interval. All hardware components are ethernet, not wifi. Since my wife is disabled and cannot operate the remote herself, it makes the app useless. Because of her illness we had taken a couple of months break in watching films in her library so the issue has appeared with either a TV OS update, the Plex App for Apple TV or the PMS docker itself in the past two months. I would really appreciate help finding a work around while the Plex team continue to look into it. This is the thread on the Plex Support forum. It has just spread to a second page... https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/288620/apple-tv-audio-stops-randomly/p1 NAS : unRAID 6.3.5 in my signature Docker : linuxserver/plex:latest PMS Version : Plex Pass 1.10.1.4602 Apple TV : 4th Gen Plex App : 1.20.1 4th December 2017 The movies that drop the audio are in the following format... <MediaContainer size="1" allowSync="1" identifier="com.plexapp.plugins.library" librarySectionID="1" librarySectionTitle="Movies" librarySectionUUID="5671a3cf-9bfb-4ba2-8cb4-368abfd574cc" mediaTagPrefix="/system/bundle/media/flags/" mediaTagVersion="1513172439"> <Video ratingKey="192" key="/library/metadata/192" guid="com.plexapp.agents.imdb://tt0120917?lang=en" librarySectionID="1" librarySectionKey="/library/sections/1" librarySectionTitle="Movies" studio="Walt Disney Pictures" type="movie" title="The Emperor's New Groove" titleSort="Emperor's New Groove" contentRating="G" summary="Kuzco is a self-centered emperor who summons Pacha from a village and to tell him that his home will be destroyed to make room for Kuzco's new summer home. The last audio drop would have been withing five minutes of the creation of the log. 14. Good suggestions, thanks. I have one spare SATA port on the old machine that I can use to put the new cache SSD temporarily.
  15. Doesn't Plex have some sort of metadata file with the thumbnails and tags that you picked for your movie collection? Where does that reside? So far I have moved over the movies themselves and installed a fresh Plex docker onto the new NAS.
  16. I am in the process of setting up a duplicate of my unRAID NAS and would like to know how to move my Plex settings and metadata over from the old array to the new one. Both machines are running unRAID 6.3.5. Both have the movies in exactly the same folder structure as I have already duplicated the media. Both are actually running the exact same Dockers (Plex and Krusader). Once I have migrated Plex over to the new array, the old one will have the Plex Docker stopped. Is there a guide or FAQ that has this information?
  17. @BobPhoenix You were correct - it was the 9211-8i broadcom package that I wanted for both the firmware and bios for my 9201-8i. Provided you use the IT mode firmware it is fine. I now have the correct firmware and bios on my card.
  18. I have just examined the Firmware and BIOS in a LSI SAS9201-8i that I picked up off eBay and it is reported as follows in the unRAID syslog.txt... I assume this means it is using FW11 and has BIOS 07.11. I have checked the Legacy HBA section of the Broadcom site and couldn't see a 9201-8i listed. Which is the equivalent entry I am looking for please? Is it the 9201-16i or the 9211-8i?
  19. My Parity checks on the system in my sig have been the same all the way back to December 2015... 111.2 MB/s in 7h 29m 38s give or take 30 seconds... apart from once at the end of June 2016 when it was 103.5 MB/s in 8h 3m 20s. No idea what tuneable was different that month.
  20. I thought I would just chip in by confirming that 6.3.0 Parity times are *exactly* the same as 6.2.x on the array in my sig. I know someone asked in the 6.3.0 thread if the times had changed as part of the version change.
  21. Sorted - the Advanced View - Force Update did the trick. No idea why the Basic View - Check for Updates did not though.
  22. I have tried stopping/restarting the docker from Dashboard - Apps and also Docker - Check for Updates and it refuses to update me to 1.0. It just says "Using version: 0.9.16.6.1993-5089475 from Public latest". PMS itself of course says there is an update available. What do I check next, please? EDIT : Oh, hang on a moment - I just spotted the Advanced View button and that revealed the Force Update option. Let me see how that goes... brb.
  23. Is the Plex 1.0 restricted to Plex Pass members or is it available for non-members? I have stopped/restarted the Docker and am still on 0.9.16.6. 25. ISSUE : Dynamix S3 Sleep (2016.06.19) not Sleeping when invoked from Array Operation tab. UNRAID : 6.1.9 Plus I checked my plugins for updates today and saw that the WebGUI, S3 Sleep and System Temperature were all wanting to be updated. After an update, I left the server running and we watched a movie. After we were done, I came back to the WebGUI - Main - Array Operation tab and clicked the Sleep button. The label for the button changed to "Sleeping..." but the server did not enter the sleep state. Fans were still running and the WebGUi still responded The previous version of the plugin certainly worked as I have got used to the fans stopping and hearing the click of the PSU turning off. I stopped, rebooted and restarted the server but there was no change in the behaviour of the sleep button. My system spec in my forum sig is correct.
