The only windows machine I have in my home is a Windows 10 VM under unRAID I access from work with RDP. Am I safe assuming I have a strict control of the programs installed? or is possible to get infected with the port open for RDP? Thankyou Gus

I have unRAID up and running and I'm trying to replicate or find alternatives of the programs I used in my Synology. I need a replacement of the Synology DS Audio aplication I had, and the same aplication on the ipad where I saw all the music I had and airplayed the music to my Zeppelin. The ipad connects to the Synology NAS and shows the music stored in it. Is there any alternative? Thankyou Gus

I'm in the 2/3 process of a preclear of the "faulty" drive with those unallocated sectors but when I have observed the smart again, I see that the "Current pending sector of 10" have disappeared and shows 0. Must I wait to finish de 3rd preclear to get a "reliable" result? Has the drive corrected those sectors? I have a RMA, what must I do now? (they will not see any pending sector at WD) Thankyou Gus

mc stopped the copy process (I ssh unraid), perhaps it's disconnected when the computer enters sleep mode? Now copying the content trough my windows vm... as you said the errors have appeared, by now 92 errors and 2 files with those read errors... 216min to go. Gus

SOLVED: If you have mapped /UNRAID to /mnt The correct path would be: /UNRAID/DISK1/SHARE1 to /UNRAID/DISK2/SHARE2 but I had to stop/start the ARRAY because SHARE2 was not seen. Gus

I'm doing the same using mc from mnt/usr/share1_on_disk_1 to mnt/usr/share2_on_disk_2 and it's moving the files/folders not the assignment. Sorry but what will be the exact path to copy those files/folders? I have a share1 on disk1 and a share2 on disk2? Thankyou Gus

Can someone tell me why when I start to move files/folders in krusader from one share in disk 1 to another share in disk 2 it really doesn't move the files/folders. A new window is open, I see the move is in action, the files/folders get moved from one window to the other in seconds, but I was moving a 4TB disk. It's like when you move one file/folder within de same disk. I'm now trying with mc and it will last 18h. Thankyou Gus

One last thing. I have disabled parity disk to use it as a temporal backup (since I get a new replacement unit) of the drive with those bad sectors but the bad sectors have disappeared... Whats the explanation to this? Thankyou Gus

Sorry but I don't really know if I got it... Those disk errors represent a hardware disk sector failure? can I claim guarantee? Once I get out all the content from this disk is there any way to reuse this disk? If I remember well on my old synology the first time you put a disk, the system made a scaning of the disk to find if there where errors and mark those errors. Is the same as when we format a new drive in unraid? I'll use parity disk (for the momment) as the disk to copy the files and buy a new disk as parity. Basically the disk with errors contain some movies (no important content). When I copy those files to the new disk, the files with those errors will give me error when trying to copy? Once discarted the problematic files, will I be safe if I try to recreate parity? Thankyou Gus

How is this possible if he formats the USB drive? Following with these and reading @trurl what is the way to make a backup of the flash disk? keep a copy of: config/super.dat (and you won't have to assign your drives)( if you've changed your array or parity since you backed up that super.dat restoring it could result in data loss) config/*.cfg (files you want to keep the settings from) config/shares/*.cfg (files you want to keep user share settings from) Anything else? I have recently added the parity drive and after the initial parity check I have observed one of my 4 TB disks shows 9162 errors. What are those errors? Can I repair those errors? Do I still have the system protected by the parity drive? Thankyou Gus
