I agree: OrangeSqueeze is the best on Android. For iOS, try iPeng. There are still people active over at https://forums.slimdevices.com/ Including the developer of PCP and Jivelite. If you haven't already, I recommend getting a RPi 7" touchscreen as a handy interface and 'Now Playing' screen (install Jivelite from within PCP). It's possible to fit the DAC and the RPi into a Pimoroni case with a few light mods and a bit of determination.

Also check out max2play https://www.max2play.com/en/ It uses LMS and PCP, but may have some extra bits that make internet streaming services a bit better (maybe, I haven't looked at the project in years). Although, streaming internet radio (rather then subscription services) in LMS is perfectly fine once you add the sources - I recommend linking your https://tunein.com/ account, so that your favourites are available in LMS - makes adding stations much easier.

Can confirm that it works with PiCorePlayer. Note that if you're running a 'hybrid' setup of Squeezebox hardware and PCP, that (in my experience - maybe different DACs work better?) the PCP and the Squeezeboxes won't sync perfectly (the music will drift and will get a little out of time - which can be annoying if they're within earshot of each other). I don't know if multiple PCP will drift away from each other, or if they remain in-sync like the official Squeezebox hardware, as I only had one PCP. Due to this, I disabled the DAC (IQaudIO Pi-DAC+) in my PCP install, and now use it just as a touchscreen interface that controls a Squeezebox receiver (the headless squeezebox). You can get Squeezebox Receivers for around £50 on eBay (cheaper than a Pi + PSU + DAC). You *might* need a Squezebox remote (when it's sold as a bundle of remote + receiver, it's known as a 'duet') to set up the receiver, though. There are ways around that, though - go check on the squeezebox forums: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?105330-Any-way-to-setup-duet-receiver-without-controller - but I have no experience with it, as I have a controller* (two of them, actually - I bought them as Duet bundles. Also, I don't know if you've had previous experience with LMS, but if not: don't sell your Sonos until you've run with the LMS system for a while. LMS' integration with streaming services is about what you'd expect for decades old abandonware (well, "community run") - that is to say, everything feels hacked together. If you use ANY streaming service with any frequency, you'll probably end up preferring the Sonos (or end up buying a stack of Chromecasts/airplay devices, as I did). In saying that, however, for accessing your own music collection, I still think it's the best out there. In fact, I just dropped £250 on a Logitech Transporter, and absolutely love it. I plan on staying in this abandoned ecosystem for the next decade, too. Especially as there's heaps of relatively cheap hardware on eBay now. *side note: don't be tempted by the controllers - they're terrible. If you can get one bundled with a receiver, fine - but don't expect to use it, as it's just so, so, so much easier (and better) using a phone app these days. They have not aged well. I updated to the latest Docker image this morning, and found out this afternoon that SABnzbd has been hammering my CPU. Has this happened to anyone else? Specs in sig.

My first ever dead hard drive (in Unraid or elsewhere). By coincidence I slept in the same room as the server last night, and woke this morning to the sound of a hard drive clicking in its death throws. Unraid has now taken the disk offline, so I have to order a spare today and do a preclear stress test. Now I have that special anxiety of only single parity and one disk down! So will probably take the array offline until it's ready to be replaced - especially as one other disk is from the same batch (the parity drive), and there is another disk in there of the same model. Looks like the disk failed at month 40 (came with a 36 month warranty booooo). I had all the info stored in the 'identity' section of unraid, coz I thought it was a very handy place to store it, but now that the disk is offline, I can't actually access that info, so the below information is taken from the parity, which is the same model purchased at the same time: Model family: Seagate NAS HDD Device model: ST4000VN000-2AH166 User capacity: 4,000,787,030,016 bytes [4.00 TB] Sector sizes: 512 bytes logical, 4096 bytes physical Rotation rate: 5980 rpm Form factor: 3.5 inches Date of purchase: 2016-07-04 Date of failure: 2019-11-11 (3 years 4 months - length of warranty: 3 years)

I had to mount the server (I think also the time machine share) in Finder before TimeMachine would see it. You only have to mount it the first time - it'll find it automatically every time it runs after that.

A while ago I posted this to the Snoopy repo thread, but received no response. I received a notification via 'Fix Common Problems' that the Snoopy image is no longer being maintained, but this one is, so I swapped over a few days ago. Anyway, I thought I'd ask the same question here: Has anyone here had luck getting the YouTube plugin to work on Logitech Media Server? I have successfully authorised it to my YouTube account, but I just can't get it to find any videos let alone play them. I note on the plugin page that it states: "Note that SSL is required, but on some Linux installation, a few libraries are missing. If the plugin does not work, open a command line and run: "sudo apt-get install libio-socket-ssl-perl libnet-ssleay-perl"" Could this be the problem? If so, is it possible, dlandon, to include those dependencies in the next update (or is it possible for me to add them myself?)? Many thanks.  (original post for reference):

Just thought I'd say here for posterity that I bought the 4TB Seagate Expansion Portable STEA4000400 (found an open box special for £70) and shucked it to reveal a ST4000LM024 SATA drive. Scan sell those drives for £128, so it was quite a saving! After a single-pass pre-clear, it's now in my array and seemingly working well.

I'm looking to replace a full 1TB 2.5" drive with a 4TB one, so will likely take this option of shucking (as it's about £130 to buy a 2.5" 4TB internal drive compared to this £90 option). Are there any problems to using SMR in Unraid aside from speed issues? Like, does it affect the redundancy or rebuilds or something?

Does anyone know how to clear the logs for Subsonic? My log is 422MB. Seems unnecessarily verbose (lots of "chown: changing ownership of '/music/[FILENAME]': Read-only file system" entries). I know it's now recommended to switch over to libresonic or madsonic, but Subsonic is still working nicely for me, so I just thought I'd ask if anyone knows how (I can't find anywhere in the Subsonic UI, nor Unraid's). Many thanks. EDIT: I should note that I mean the Docker log for Subsonic is 422MB as shown in the 'Container Size' Docker page in Unraid. The log referenced in Subsonic (/subsonic/subsonic.log) is only 83KB.

To further this discussion: a VPN will hide your connection to Usenet servers from your ISP. And in many countries (including here in the UK) ISPs HAVE to log every site/IP you visit, and HAVE to divulge that info when asked to by authorities. So, as long as VPNs remain legal (they're trying to make them illegal....), then your ISP can only say that you've been connecting to a VPN rather than a Usenet server.

Hi all, I had an error last week that my (admittedly small @ 10GB) Docker container was filling up, so I thought I'd take a look at the container sizes to see who was to blame. Despite barely ever using it (it sits turned of most of the time - only turning it on when I want to download some sweet Linux ISOs), Deluge VPN has the biggest size at 1.34 GB (see attached). So I thought I'd take a look around the settings to see if it was storing any old torrents (all torrents have finished seeding and are now gone from the UI) somewhere in the container, but all references I can find to paths in the settings menu point to /data which I have mapped to a folder on the array (/mnt/user/bigfiles/deluge/). So, I'm asking here: is 1.34 GB a normal size for this container? Or is it likely that there is an old torrent sitting in the container somewhere that I should find and delete? Thanks all!

How do you clean up appdata?

I just installed this last week and have the same issue - Docker usage has grown significantly. Did you find a solution to this? Should I just decrease the log retention, or is it something else?

Yeah, the plugin doesn't work for me either - and I have a Perc H310. So I think it's the culprit.

HI there, I have a friend on a really poor internet connection who is running unRAID (upon my advice). I'm heading over to his house this weekend, and as part of my visit will be upgrading his server to the latest stable version. To save us the slow and unreliable practice of downloading the latest version, I've downloaded those on the download page to my flash drive. But I have a few questions: To upgrade from an old version, do I just extract the contents of the zip file to the flash drive? Or will this overwrite some config files? Can I do this over the SMB share, or do I have to shutdown his server and physically access the USB boot drive? Do I have to incrementally upgrade, or can I just stick on the latest version regardless of what version he's currently on (from memory he's on a 6.x version - I think 6.4.x)? On a similar note, can I also do this with Docker images? If so, where would I source them from? Many thanks!
