  1. ok I have now started the new configuration with 3 drives removed and 3 new drives inserted and started the rebuild, which has started. but am I meant to see the contents of my shares? I see see on under /diskxx the data but not under //tower/sharename... is that normal? is this normally caused by cable issues? 3. seems like that my Norco SS-500 V2 has a faulty port. I moved the cables and the drives around and it always stays with that port, I took it apart but cannot see a blown capacitor or anything like it. I blew all the dust away which was there but the port will still not work. Any other way to be sure?
  4. Hi there, I have a huge problem, whereby a rebuilt was not successful because another drive was giving lots of error messages. Unbeknown to me I then started to replace the second drive thinking that the first rebuild was successful. So I now shutdown my array and I have put the drive which was red balled into another machine and powered it up with the same version of unRaid 6 Beta 6 and it appears that I can access that data when I mount it from unMenu. The original drive where the rebuild never completed does not exist anymore, so I cannot start that rebuild anymore. So I am quite sure I have lost 2 tb of data, but any help is greatly appreciated. === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Model Family: SAMSUNG SpinPoint F4 EG (AF) Device Model: SAMSUNG HD204UI Serial Number: S2HGJ1AZ801622 LU WWN Device Id: 5 0024e9 003e6b86d Firmware Version: 1AQ10003 User Capacity: 2,000,398,934,016 bytes [2.00 TB] Sector Size: 512 bytes logical/physical Rotation Rate: 5400 rpm Device is: In smartctl database [for details use: -P show] ATA Version is: ATA8-ACS T13/1699-D revision 6 SATA Version is: SATA 2.6, 3.0 Gb/s Local Time is: Sun Aug 3 08:09:52 2014 PDT ==> WARNING: Using smartmontools or hdparm with this drive may result in data loss due to a firmware bug. ****** THIS DRIVE MAY OR MAY NOT BE AFFECTED! ****** Buggy and fixed firmware report same version number! 5. it appears that the problem with drive md14 caused the rebuild to have a problem and showed only the md14 as failed and md8 fine, and now I already sent the drive back to WD so it appears that I lost at least 2 tb of data. When I look under /tower/disk 8 I can see directories but they are all empty. syslog-20140724-192024_shorted.zip
  6. another thing I guess I should mention is that I had another drive which was failing which I replaced before there was a red dot and during the rebuild of that drive this drive md14 failed, I see at the top of my unMenu the following line Last parity check 16281 days ago . Parity updated 191599345 times to address sync errors. I guess with the Parity updated that is not good. Does that have anything to do with this? Have I lost data? syslog-2014-07-29_1.zip

  8. Hi there, I did a successful preclear of a 3tb WD red drive (md14) afterwards I started the data rebuild which now stopped because the drive is shown as a red dot. The preclear completed without issues. I have included the preclear results (which was done in another machine) and from my main unraid box. The drive is sitting in a SS500 5in 3 cage. Any help is greatly appreciated. rebuilt_issues.zip
  9. I have a few new drives, could I please also have the new preclear script. thanks
  10. as soon as I removed and added the image I was able to connect to the database again... really strange. Thanks for the very fast and great assistance....

Any suggestions in which log I could look why? Thanks
  16. can you just quickly explain how exactly the template option works and which extra information are still required for the template to work with already existing databases?
  17. I must have done something wrong, I copied the above and afterwards I inserted the advancedsettings and sources and then ran the command again, but now I am getting this output 2014/06/28 10:10:32 Error: Conflict, The name xbmc is already assigned to ceda17531a06. You have to delete (or rename) that container to be able to assign xbmc to a container again. root@Tower:/mnt/cache/appdata/xbmc/userdata# docker run -d --name="xbmc" --net"=host" --privileged -v /mnt/cache/appdata/xbmc:/opt/xbmc-server/portable_data wernerb/docker-xbmc-server:gotham don't quite understand why. Or don't I have to run that command after I inserted those files to get it to restart? I did do docker stop before I tried to run it again.
  18. so from the previous discussion it appears there is no way to convert from reiserfs to btrfs without losing data. so I guess we need to move the data from the cache drive for the apps to a array drive and after we formatted move it back.
  19. actually it might not be the network after all, I have now connected a USB 3 key with data to the Server direct and copied a file which also failed during network copying and it suddenly takes a extremely long time to copy a 600mb file from NTFS usb to the share. I completes but it took about 15min, which is very slow... is there any way to check why that is happening? I don't see any error messages in the logs. syslog.zip
  20. Hi there, I have a huge problem. I gotten a new Virgin Media Superhub 2, together with a complete Gigabit Network throughout the house. All is connected to a TP Link TL-SG3424 gigabit managed switch. Before I gotten the the superhub 2 everything was working with copying files over to the Unraid server, but since I have installed the superhub 2 it stops. The superhub already has the newest firmware, yesterday i installed the newest firmware to the tp link switch, however that did not make a difference. I even upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 just in case that could have caused an issue. I am at my wits end. I will need to use the superhub 2 so that I cannot really change. Any suggestions how I can troubleshoot this. I looked in the syslog and I cannot see anything around the time when the error occurs. The error I am getting is 0x8007003b unexpected network error occurs. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. MrLondon
  21. sorry you are correct I only inserted the tower:32400 address not the /web bit at the end... However now the stock unraid web interface stopped loading and the syslog I see this line May 18 12:47:14 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/usr/local/emhttp ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; /usr/local/plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" --version May 18 12:47:37 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; nohup /usr/local/plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" > /dev/null 2>&1 & May 18 12:47:48 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/usr/local/emhttp ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; /usr/local/plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" --version May 18 12:48:35 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/usr/local/emhttp ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; /usr/local/plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" --version May 18 12:50:55 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; /mnt/cache/.plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" --version May 18 12:50:59 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; nohup /mnt/cache/.plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" > /dev/null 2>&1 & May 18 12:51:05 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/usr/local/emhttp ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; /mnt/cache/.plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" --version May 18 12:52:51 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; nohup /mnt/cache/.plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" > /dev/null 2>&1 & May 18 12:52:57 Tower sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/usr/local/emhttp ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; /mnt/cache/.plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" --version May 18 14:04:13 Tower emhttp: emhttp_read_line: emhttp_read_line: input line too long

  23. brilliant update Tom, will Beta 5 include Xen 4.4?
  24. it should support it, it gets enabled this way How to enable Intel hardware virtualization on an HP xw4600: * Boot into the hardware BIOS setup * Got to Security -> System Security * Enable both types of virtualization (VTx and VTd) * Save settings, and power-cycle the machine.
