And here in Step 6 should i reselect both the data drive and the parity drive?

It could be my backplane because i couldn't see anything wrong with the HBA and the backplane is made by Gooxi and i had bad experience before from their backplane. The cooler was mounted like it should on the HBA. Is it safe to unselect both drives in "step 2"? I will do this in "Maintenance mode". I don't trust my system because of all of this..

Well i've started removing shelves so i will have a look but it has been crazy unstable last week... motherboard is 12y and HBA is 6y... Can't afford stuff now or even over time... so this sucks.. BIG TIME..

I just talked with the store where i got the HBA card and he said that the RAID version of the HBA card i got had problems with the tension tabs holding the cooler degraded after about 5 years and my HBA is 6 years.. So i now have to dissemble my storage room and take down shelf to access my rack server to be able to pull it out and check the HBA... Last few days my unRAID have been very unstable but i guessed it was related to that i have been rebuilding my network and setting up VLAN for the first time but without changing VLAN the last 2 days it still loose connection from time to time so something is bad..

Here is a new one. The start of the array just kept spinning at starting so after a while i had to reload the interface... "SDH", "SDI" stayed offline so this does not feel great..

Oh! Sorry i have never used that before. I'm in a bit of panic right now! It has been acting up last few days.. unRAID says its the Parity 2 ( WR500ZT6 ) that is offline.

I just rebooted my unRAID VM and about 30-60 minutes after that i got three emails explaining errors on 9 drives and parity 2 offline.. What could it be? is it fixable?

@binhex I'm doing my best to secure my network quite a bit and I have moved qBittorrent to VLAN 102 (192.168.102.2) and my computer is on VLAN 100 (192.168.100.2). My unRAID (Proxmox VM) use "macvlan". VLAN are created in unRAID, Switch, Router. Everything works fine except qBittorrent. I changed "Network Type:" for qBittorrent to the "br0.102" and changed the docker setting "Key 10:"/"LAN_NETWORK" to "192.168.102.0/24" and i start qBittorent it does not tell me "Port Mappings (App to Host)" information. Is there something else i need to fix or is it a limitation within your scripts?

On point 13. It says I should now get a "Copy" button but it's not there under "Array Operation". Both the new parity drive and the new "Disk 5" are both blue so I think I i've done everything the right way so far. All I have is a "Start" and the description "Start will start Parity-Sync and/or Data-Rebuild." Am I missing something?

Oh my bad then. I will re read that page a 3th time. I didn't really comprehend it all then.. i thought it wore more risky but then i understand you better now. Thank you for taking time to explain it. Then i can feel calm about it! I'm doing the preclean now so it will be a few days but that's just awesome!

Yes I have. I have used it before about 3+ years ago and forgotten about it. but i mostly needed confirmation because my anxiety. I'm just worried I would loose all the data. Also if I do a parity swap then I would not have any parity drives which is scary.. Sorry for that.

If I understood you correctly after the preclear I'm running right now I will be able to take 8TB "Parity 1" away and then have two drives offline for the time being and add the new 18Tb as "Parity 1" and "OLD Parity 1" as a new "Disk 5" in one operation right? And when it's all done I could remove the 1Tb drives on a second operation. I'm sorry I did not explain that I have unBalance that I will use to move all from "Disk 7" and "Disk 8" to other drives.

After updating unRAID to 6.10.0 it seems that Teamspeak won't start and i don't know why and as far as i can tell i don't see anything in the logs about it. and on the Docker tab it does not seem to show a IP when i start teamspeak.

Anyone here got Roon working on iPhone when the host is at home connected with WireGuard? (or even OpenVPN)

Hi! I just signed up for PIA and I wanted to do a port forward. All I seem to find on the subject is that in the windows client you can "request port forwarding" or this forum post: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/archive/forum/discussion/23431/new-pia-port-forwarding-api So Binhex have you implemented this or is this a bad way of doing it? Security?

i have not done much i just tried to correct with a few of the latest files so as i said is just that i don't know enough to do a complete work on it. i just checked the url's so they would work and tried it on my own server.

EDIT: Might be fixed without more changes then "try_outgoing" in rtorrent.rc or well at least i now see "2 (4) peers" so at least i connect to some of them. but i will know more tomorrow! ESXi 6.5 u1 with two VM, pfSense 2.4.2 and unRAID 6.4.1. and PCI- passthrough for my HBA card "Supermicro AOCS3008L-L8e" to unRAID and PCI- passthrough for my NIC card "Supermicro i350 2-port" to pfSense about a month ago i removed two VM "Windows" and "Linux" to make space for unRAID to take over and i removed my LSI raid card and installed this HBA card and in unRAID i now get 50mb/s write speed on my array that consist of 5, 8tb red (not pro) drives and a NVMe SSD for cache. the .OVPN files i tried and they did not work so i had to manually clean them up a bit but there might have been something else because later i found out that binhex runs a cleanup script for .OVPN files. encryption cipher was just copied not changed unless binhex changes it. I also checked my ISP and they do not block VPN in anyway we are spoiled with 100/10mbit here. ip is correct. You can add this MAGNET in torrent magnet:?xt=urn:btih:be5eab290aa75385a245ca6e461893f57dc8a0aa&dn=ipMagnet+Tracking+Link&tr=http%3A%2F%2Fipmagnet.services.cbcdn.com%3A80%2F to just be blocked with a error message in your torrent app that will give you the IP that the tracker gets. (its not a download just ip checker) i also double checked in rutorrent. D/L is about 100mbit so nothing wrong with that. this used to work in my Windows VM but everything about unRAID is new to me.

I'm using www.ovpn.com the reason why i payed 2USD for a Public IPV4 was that there even with the port forward in place i could not seed at all. But the thing is that i use a VPN where i have to pay extra for a public IP and no filtering so if i understand it correctly only _IF_ binhex setup some sort off iptables to block incoming connections on my random port span (8 ports) there should not be a problem i just now tried to add "encryption = whatever_was_before, try_outgoing" so i added try_outgoing and it went from 100kb/s to a bit once i saw 500kb/s on a new file so i can see that there are a lot of leachers but i have 1250 kB/s upload. Could it be that the data is on my array? Could it be something about to high read/write for it to handle?

Ok and 600 is the correct number for that scenario? Thank you =)
