  1. Sorry, unable to post till tomorrow. I will do that. Might be getting closer. Lol... Thank you. By chance do you know if something like thishttps://www.amazon.ca/dp/B086WCRFQ3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_A43ZXGKEJ5JKA1R4JJVP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Would work with Unraid. Just want it for backing up Plex in case unraid crashes. Have about 25Tb of data. Was going to build it inside my unraid tower., but this way I only have to run it every 2 or 3 days. Drawing enough power these days.
  2. I don't have a cable into Eth0, switch is the motherboard port. Would that make a difference?
  3. On the back of the server I switched the cables eth1 and eth2 around. Server still had internet. Both those cards are working. Just can't seem to get the connection from the desktop to one of those cards to work.
  4. Hi, Looking for a way to backup Plex and other files in case Unraid crashes. I don't care about it being raided. Might even keep it powered down for 2 or 3 days at a time. Been looking at something like this https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B086WCRFQ3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_A43ZXGKEJ5JKA1R4JJVP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Will this work with Unraid. Can I create a 10G connection between the two? Thanks.
  5. Hi, I wanted to keep you up to date because you have taken the effort to help me. I did reverse eth1 and 2, removed the cards, put them back in, rebooted modem, desktop etc. I still can't get it to work🥶 When I bond all three the cards in the dashboard looks like they are active. I was going to try and delete Eth0 and just bond the 2 cards. I was afraid I would break the network settings, or the dockers. Need to think about this. It has to be doable. LOL...Thanks again. I will let you know.
  6. I did have the cable connected. I will try some of those suggestions tomorrow and let you know. I have a few plex users on right now. Have a good night. Appreciate your time.
  7. Actually, it is eth 2 that runs from the unraid server to the 10 gig port on the isp box. I watched the other card on the back of the server it did not light up. There is no cable in the motherboard ethernet port. Not sure why Eth0 is showing. The cards are the only, connections active. Eth1 and Eth2. That one setting is that suppose to be Active backup (1)? Not sure why it is not working. Those settings make sense. Makes you want to pull your hair out. Lol
  8. Here's the settings I just used. Didn't work. Unraid's UI wouldn't even load.
  9. Just the ISP Box. No router connected. I'm going through your steps right now.
  10. The isp box is the only thing I'm using. It has just 1 10g port, 4 eithernet ports. I have the 10 g port running unraid, using the 1 nic card. it has doubled my VPN speed. For some reason I have always had very slow speeds. I have went from 10 Mbps to 20. Still not very good. Can live with that. I'm assuming the nic card is the reason. I tried everything in the past, nothing worked. I tried bonding those before, might have did it wrong. I will try your suggestion, one step at a time see if that helps. First time ever I have never bridged my router with my isp box. I have a fibre line for the first time, thought it might be better not to bridge. So far been good. Thank you.
  11. Both are the Asus cards 10 gig network cards, plugged into my bottom pcie slots on the board on the unraid server. Not using onboard eithernet port. I tried bonding eth0 eth1 and eth2. 1 and 2 are the Asus cards. On the bottom for the order of the connections I put etho, then both Atlantic (Asus cards) I have the same Asus card plugged into my desktop board. I have been leaving the 1 gig Ethernet plugged in on the desktop so I can keep connected to the server Web Gui. Once I get it working not sure if I need the 1g connection. $orry for missing info. If you need more please let me know. Thank you appreciate it.
  12. Hi Everybody, I have 2 Nic cards https://www.amazon.ca/Asus-XG-C100C-Network-Adapter-Single/dp/B072N84DG6/ref=sr_1_18?crid=3RYBA6156BDVU&dchild=1&keywords=10+gigabit+network+card&qid=1635018921&sprefix=10+gig%2Caps%2C71&sr=8-18 The first one connects the unraid server to my 10 gig port on the ISP box. The second card i want to create a 10 gig connect between the unraid server and my desktop. How would I do that? Tried a couple different ways and couldn't get it to work. This is how the first card is working Interface eth0 Interface description: MAC address: A8:5E:45:57:Ex.x.x Enable bonding: Yes Bonding mode: Active Backup (1) Just noticed this setting (Don't think I should have it on that) ?? Bonding members of bond0: eth0, eth2 (Eh2 is the card that goes from server to ISP Box) Enable bridging: Yes Network protocol: IPv4 only IPv4 address assignment: Static IPv4 address: 192.168.2.x.x/24 IPv4 default gateway: 192.168.2.1 optional metric (lowest is preferred, 0 is no default gateway) IPv4 DNS server assignment: Static IPv4 DNS server: 192.168.x.x IPv4 DNS server 2: 207.164.234.xxx Desired MTU: 1500 Enable VLANs: No Eh1 is the other card. How do I set that one to connect Sever to desktop? Thank you.
  13. Sorry about that. I was referring to the dual network card. Which I'm going to send back and eventually get the switch box that you showed me. I've heard of that product, pretty good Might be better because I use a cheap little switch for Xbox, tv etc. I can plug everything into that. Are they quite? Amazon Canada sold out right now. Other question, if I plug directly from my single 10 gig network card to the isp modem.( Bell Hub 4000), does the network card have to be the first selection in the Unraid network settings or should it be the 1 gig connection? Any other settings that need to be changed? Thanks for showing me the switch, should have did that in the first place.. Lol
  14. Sorry, my main goal is to be able to transfer files faster between my desktop and unraid. The plan was to utilize the 10 gig port on my isp modem, which would go directly to the server. Then use the other nic port to run it to the desktop. As I'm typing this I'm thinking I might just forget about the desktop. My separate backups are going to be created on the unraid server so the large files won't have to go far. I have a about 25 tb of media files that I need to create a backup for in case unraid crashes a few drives. I doubt I'm going to move those type of file sizes to the desktop. Would be nice to have the connection there just in case. I think i can live without it. I do like that switch you sent me, and not that pricey. I might consider that. Need one with at least 3 10 gig ports. I use cat7 cabling. I really appreciate your help and input. Thank you.
  15. Hi, Just going over your notes. I think the simplest for me might be getting a 10 gig switch plug it into modem, plug unraid and my desktop into the switch. What do you think? Any recommendations for a switch?
  16. Thanks very much for your input. I will look over the suggestions and see what I can make work. Networking with Unraid is not something I'm good at. LOL
  17. Hi Everybody. I wanted to save one of my PCIE slots for a sata card so I bought a 2 port 10G network card for transferring files.. https://www.amazon.ca/10Gtek-X540-T2-Converged-Network-Adapter/dp/B06XH4HV96 I think it works, but I don't think I'm configuring it right in Unraid. When I tried it, my dockers with custom ips for Br0 were unavailable. I had the following: Enable bonding: No Enable Bridging Yes Bridging members of br0: I selected Eth0, Eth1, Eth2 Under Interface Rules My main Eth0 was first, followed by the other 2, which I didn't realize it read each port separate on the the card. I had 2 single ones between my desktop and unraid before. Maybe that caused some issues. Any help would be appreciated. This card mentions running in a x8 slot, can it run in a x4 slot? Really doesn't matter going to use the x4 for for my sata card. When I link the 2 systems together with the cards, does it hurt to leave the 1 gig internet plugged in on the desktop? I've always unplugged it. Thank you! ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. - ROG STRIX X470-F GAMING AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core @ 4 GHz
  18. Hi, Looking for a 10 gig dual port jr45 card. Is this type of card any good? I have a couple Asus XG-C100C 10G Network Adapter PCI-E x4 Card with Single RJ-45 Port. They work pretty good just plugged them in. Can't just buy another one. Unfortunately they don't sell dual port. It will be going in a x4 pcie slot. https://www.amazon.ca/STARTECH-Network-10GBase-T-chipset-Ethernet/dp/B015HDT6AY/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=2%2Bport%2Bnic%2Bcard&qid=1629759684&sr=8-2-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyQzdaUzBQR0ZIMkUmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA5MTczMjYyRVlKS045MlU1Q1ROJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAzMzYyMThWUzFRSFhYUUxTWlMmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&th=1 Thanks Randy
  19. Hi Guys, Thank you both very much for your input. I forgot about doing this stupid me, I ended up putting 443 after the ip and it got me in. I had to tinker with the network settings a few times and a couple reboots but the ip is static and stable. I can get in, but the main page doesn't want to use SSL with letsencrypt, as I'm typing this I probably have to update it. Main page is just showing ip and unsecure. Thanks again..
  20. Hi Everybody, I changed to a Bell Fiber line. My ip use to be 192.168.1.x.x Now it is a .2.x.x. I deleted the network.cfg & network-rules and rebooted, but both times I did this I got the same ip. I can see the new ip in Unraid when it boots up. It just says ip6 is not set, which as far as I know doesn't matter. I can also see my server in the Windows network, I can access the unraid folders. I can even turn dockers on an off with my phone. I just can't access the WebUI. I have cleared the browser history. I have a direct cat7 cable to the 10 Gig port on the Hub. Any ideas? I'm wonder if I should boot unraid with no plugins or dockers. I have all of the dockers shutoff. Thank you.
  21. Update: I think it is Cyberghost draining my internet connections for some reason. I have 1gig down and 30up. As soon as NZBget starts downloading I start losing my internet. Not sure what to think at this point.
  22. Hi, Very strange situation going on I can’t figure it out. I used the reset button on the ISP box, and rebooted the devices to see if it fixed the problem. Nope. Running Xpenology as a VM in Unraid. VPN Server is not on. I left all settings default when I connected Cyberghost. I have Cyberghost connected following these instructions. https://support.cyberghostvpn.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012606699-How-to-use-CyberGhostVPN-on-Synology-NAS-via-OpenVPN FYI: No kill switch in place. Here’s the problem, when I start the VM up now with the apps running it lasts about 20-30 minutes then I lose my internet. Before it quit I was able to login to the VM. I have given the VM 4 Cores – 6G Ram Router is bridged with the ISP box. In Xpenology I have the following: Sonarr Raddarr NZBGET All from Xpenology community apps. The desktop pulls its internet from the server through a 10 Gig network card. Is it possible the VM is corrupted? It still shouldn’t shut the internet down should it? I could see if Cyberghost had a kill switch., The other strange thing is I can’t reach Plex from the browser anymore, but it’s working. I’m thinking maybe the drive that the VM is on is starting to go, or the ISP box has a conflict. I can’t access it at moment password they gave me doesn’t work. Everything runs fine until I turn the VM on. I will try an update on the router tonight. Could be a DNS issue, not sure what is causing it. Any ideas? Thank you.
  23. Hi, Sorry, never noticed this post. I ended up using an Asus x470 board with a Ryzen 12 core CPU. Thanks for the input.
  24. Hi, Not sure if this is possible with Wireguard, but I've been looking at other vpn alternatives because the VPN keeps shutting down the internet instead of just shutting down the dockers. I have Openvpn, Nordvpn with Merlin Firmware on my Asus RT Ac5300. I have Sonarr, Radarr and NZBget attached to it on their own. Is this type of setup possible with WireGuard and Cyberghost? I just moved to Cyberghost. Does anybody have this type of setup and how did you do it? Thank you.
  25. Hi Everybody, Trying to get Qutscloud installed as a vm, there's a few apps I liked when I owned a Qnap. Anybody have any success installing this? What settings and VM template did you use? Thank you.
