  1. It seems I'm being encouraged to do so... I only became aware of any of this when I started getting errors emailed to me yesterday, about /mnt/disks/Backup, which I never setup, and don't really understand. I just want to get everything working again, the best way possible. thanks Meh, I just uninstalled Unassigned Devices for now. Hopefully that fixes my errors.
  2. I appreciate the help. I don't believe I need/want to mount remote shares. The previous functionality was just fine, and I've not seen anything that makes me thing I need to change; other than the post I quoted, which seems to indicate I DO have to change something. I don't know the benefits or disadvantages of using remote shares, or changing to use legacy (which is generally not the ideal solution to many issues I've dealt with in the past). Assuming it's "best" to use the new system, it's unclear what exactly this means. What new mount point, how does one set up this new thing, where and what exactly in Dockers and VM mappings needs changed?? I've attached the diagnostics, and again, very much appreciate your help making some kind of change, someplace, and understanding what that actually means. media-diagnostics-20201210-0959.zip
  3. What are remote shares, why would I want or not want them, and what might be the advantages of using the new system (and changing all my dockers and VM mappings) vs just changing to using the legacy mount point compatibility? I've begun getting errors in the morning with "fstrim: /mnt/disks/Backup: FITRIM ioctl failed: No such file or directory" the syslog has this line in it "Dec 9 14:57:35 media unassigned.devices: Successfully mounted '/dev/sdb2' on '/mnt/disks/Backup'." I don't intentionally have any disk called backup, so I'm not sure what has caused this, nor exactly how to fix it. Also, if the best practice is to change the docker and VM mountings to the new mount point, what exactly would that look like? I'm really not sure what would need changed, so this is all very confusing to me. thanks for any guidance!!
  4. I got en email yesterday morning with the subject line - cron for user root /sbin/fstrim -a -v | logger &> /dev/null and the message is - fstrim: /mnt/disks/Backup: FITRIM ioctl failed: No such file or directory The only thing I think I may have changed in the last few days was updating the unassigned devices plugin (but may have updated a docker also). I'm not really sure where to look for an issue, as the SSD Trim plugin has been installed and I've not messed with it for a LONG time, maybe years. I don't believe I have, nor should have, a disk called Backup. I have a share called Backup, set to use the cache, but not exclusively. Diagnostics attached. thanks for any help. media-diagnostics-20201210-0959.zip
  5. Thanks again. I originally had passed only 2 cores to windows, but it seems unraid doesn't quite honor that (maybe I'm mistaken), so i just unpinned everything. I feel like this might be an issue with the virtio-win-0.1.189-1 version I'm using, but I also don't know enough to know if that's valid, or what to do about it, other than try installing other versions and testing, but that seems quite a bit of work for a slightly maybe solution. Hopefully people that actually understand how this all works have some ideas on what I can try next.
  6. Thanks, but I did that already. I am able to pass the entire controller to windows just fine. That is not an issue, and I don't believe I need any help doing that. What I am having trouble with is Windows not handling this controller properly, working for a short time, then failing until I delete the USB controller in windows. This worked fine until the windows VM is rebooted, then I need to perform this process again, which is much more difficult to do without a working mouse or keyboard in windows (because the controller isn't working after a few minutes.)
  7. yes. thats how it was set when it used to work. I included that screenshot in the first post. That does pass the whole controller, but once in windows, it 'break' and stops working until/unless I delete the USB device in windows. That's the actual problem I'm trying to resolve. I'm able to pass the entire controller fine, but it doesn't work in Windows.
  8. Does anyone have any idea where I can go for help on this issue? I'd really like to get it resolved. Thanks
  9. I have been digging some more. I discovered a few things. I had pinned the controller with syslinux.cfg prior to the plugin being merged into unraid, so when I tried to remove it in the system devices, it wouldn't remove. I removed it from both VM configs, but it wasn't until I manually removed it that I could actually see the usb devices connected to it. unraid showed the logitech dongle and a hard drive I had plugged into this controller. I unplugged the hard drive and unraid stopped showing it. I rebooted unraid. I updated system devices to bind the controller again and rebooted. i started the vm, and it did not recognize the logitech, nor the hard drive when i plugged it in. I shut down the vm. I went to system devices and unbound the controller again, and rebooted. I edited the vm and checked the logitech dongle and hard drive, which where presented to me as usb devices, and there were no "other pci devices" listed. I booted the vm, and it shows the hard drive and the usb device in device manager, and everything works. So, the ports and devices work fine in windows, but I just cannot bind the whole controller for some reason. I could live with this, but the ability to unplug and plug hard drives on the fly, and have windows recognize that was a much better solution, and I'd much rather have that work properly. Thanks again for all help!
  10. I have an asmedia USB controller that used to work fine, but now, it just won't work at all. It worked fine for at least a year. Then, about a year ago, I noticed I could no longer reliably control my windows vm with my keyboard/mouse. I messed about trying to resolve, but just ended up rebooting the VM until it would work again. Later (recently) I discovered there's a yellow triangle under universal serial bus controllers in device manager in the windows vm. it's next to the asmedia eXtensible 3.0 driver. I deleted this, then scanned for new hardware, and it populated a generic usb controller, and immediately installed the driver for the keyboard/mouse, and would also recognize any hard drive plugged in. The obvious issue with this, is that I can't do any of this fixing without a keyboard or mouse installed, so I have to remote desktop into the machine to 'fix' it. This isn't ideal, for various reasons. So, today, i decided I'm going to figure this out! I installed what appeared to be the most current driver for asmedia usb, and now it just doesn't work at all. There is no fixing now, and I have no keyboard or mouse in the VM. i suspect it should not be this hard, and that I'm doing something wrong. I'm out of ideas. can anyone PLEASE, PLEASE help me figure this out? media-diagnostics-20201129-1808.zip
  11. I tried installing that plugin 3 times, but had ZERO luck. I downloaded the python v26 and v27 (I think, they are the only 2 offered on the plugin page), but after installing, neither one showed as a plugin in deluge. Oh well, it'd be nice to have it work, but I have probably spent 5 times more time trying to automate this, than what it would take to just do it manually every time. I'll just set it up in Deluge again, in the normal settings, and maybe one day it will just start working properly for me. thanks for the guidance.
  12. I am using binhex's sonarr and deluge dockers. What I'm trying to do is have a torrent automatically delete once a seeding ratio has been reached. Setting the seed ration in the indexer setup in Sonarr seems to pause the torrent in deluge, but does not delete it. Setting the seed ratio in deluge also pauses it, even though I have the box checked for remove, it doesn't remove. Am I doing it wrong, or is this just not possible?
  13. I'd really like to resolve this. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this? @Limetech, can you help here?
  14. I have all dockers pinned to CPU 1, and have my Windows VM pinned to CPU's 3 and 4. The dashboard shows all 4 CPU's pretty well maxed out with all dockers turned off, and the Windows VM shouldn't really be doing anything right now, yet the server seems maxed out. What is going on, and should I just give up on CPU Pinning, since it seems useless to me?
  15. I've been struggling to get Jackett working with Sonarr. I finally found the final bit that got me working (api location). Here are the settings that worked for me when adding Torznab to Sonarr. Notice the api location I had to change to get it working (FINALLY!!!) I hope it helps others searching for a solution that works. FYI, I didn't set up any proxy in Jackett
  16. If I simply delete the offending ASMedia controller, then check for hardware changes, it re-finds the controller, labels it exactly like the Standard one below it, and adds another USB Root Hub, and everything works again. Windows immediately recognized the USB dongle, configures it, then tells me all is well. It also recognizes a hard drive I plug into another of the USB ports on this controller, and it also works fine after 'fixing' this 'error'. It usually stays 'fixed' until I reboot the VM, then I have to do this again. It's been this way for over a year, but I'm tired of this annoyance, so I'm really hoping someone knows how to get this fixed for good.
  17. I have my Logitech mouse dongle attached to a USB that I've passed through the entire controller to the VM, and it mostly works. However, occasionally, it just stops working. I finally looked in Device Manager and see the orange triangle next to the USB driver. If I reboot the machine, it will work again for some time, but pretty much always dies and forces me to reboot the machine. I've seen previous postings that this might have to do with nVidia drivers, but that doesn't really help. I did have some issues earlier where the audio in this windows VM just said there was no audio device, even though I could see the nVidia driver installed, and a simple reboot brought it back to working. Not sure how to resolve, but appreciate any help in doing so. Thanks! The VM in question is server, which is the server.xml in the diagnostics file media-diagnostics-20201122-1149.zip
  18. Nope, I sure didn't. I've fixed, and all is well again. Thanks again for the prompt support, and for all you contribute!
  19. I'm not sure what happened, i was sure I edited them out. i replaced log with edited credentials, and am changing now.
  20. I am having issues with accessing the GUI. I deleted the old container and used Community Applications to install fresh. I've attached the log, which seems to show all is well, but I just cannot access the GUI. supervisord.log
  21. yeah, i grabbed your deluge and sab containers right after docker was added to unraid. I was unaware you'd expanded the template, and I don't know how to get the new template, or update the one I have. I'd like to get the newest, but don't want to 'start over' having to reset everything. I tested sab with the name servers in place, and it didn't work, removed them and it worked, added them and it didn't work, and finally removed them to get it to work. After reading this, I added them back again to triple check before writing this, and now it is working with the name servers in there. I don't think removing the /config path was the issue, since it wasn't even saving the config, and the container was actually getting orphaned until I found and removed the duplicate. Then it saved and started, but i still couldn't get to the GUI. Maybe it was just taking a long time. Regardless, it's working, with the name servers, and downloading a small file as a test (I have really terribly slow internet). If you know a good/easy way to get my template up to date with your latest, I'd like to do that. i wonder if there is any way to do that automatically, or at least get notified when you make updates, since I had no idea until you said so. Thanks again for all you do, and for your help. ***Forgot to ask; what is best practice for handling both sab and deluge having port 8118 in the template. Once one is saved, the next give an error because that port is already used. I gather that port is for privoxy, but I'm not sure how best to handle the conflict. I assume just assign a container port, but it seems odd to force us to figure this out, since both templates have 8118 as the container template by default also.
  22. I've been working on this for a while, mostly just cleaning up/reorganizing the keys, port and paths to match what deluge has, so it was easier to compare (I wish there was an easy way to simply re-organize the existing entries). I added yes|no as default to fields where that's the option and true|false to the debug field, and all those fields show an arrow button to let you just pick. I'm not sure why the sabnzbdvpn container includes these keys, but delugevpn doesn't VPN_OPTIONS NAME_SERVERS UMASK PUID PGID ADDITIONAL_PORTS I have no idea what would go in VPN_OPTIONS, and it remains blank I removed the entry in NAME_SERVERS I left UMASK, PUID & PGID with the values that were there I have no need for additional ports, so it remains blank I also re-created Host Port 3 to use 8100, so it wasn't the same as deluge, and I didn't have to change just the container path. when I saved, I kept getting a duplicate /config error I finally clicked on the show more settings line in blue at the bottom and found a hidden container path, and once I removed that, the container saved properly and started. Viola! it's working again. TLDL; remove the NAME_SERVERS list from that field and all works again. If there is some reason those need to be there, I'd love to know, but as of now, the GUI loads, and it seems to work fine again. I don't know any way to confirm it's actually using the VPN with this change, but I do have it enabled, and per binhex, it will not load GUI if VPN isn't connected, so I assume it's all good now.
  23. Interesting, but why is binhex-delugevpn working just fine? I believe I have them set the same. Well, other than having to change one of them to use a different port, since, for some reason, they are both setup to use port 8118, which conflicts when I don't change one to 9118. The don't have all the same settings options, but those that are in both docker setups seem to be setup the same on my system, and SAB was working fine a few weeks ago (the last time I checked on it). I literally copied the openvpn files from deluge to sab as a test, so they should be the exact same files in both folders. This tells me it's not my ISP, nor my router. Not sure what else it could be. Finally; would it be possible for you to put a link to that FAQ in the first post of your docker threads on unRAID? I literally spent an hour looking and could not find that FAQ. Thanks again
  24. I'm sorry to have to post this here, I know I've asked before, but cannot fine that post, nor my answer. SABnzbdVPN stopped working, it just won't connect to the container. I suspect it has to do with PIA endpoint, but I cannot, for an hour of searching, find where or how to change it. my DelugeVPN still works fine, so maybe that's not the issue at all. Log file is here. I'm stuck on what to try to get it working again. 2020-05-06 15:14:07,097 DEBG 'start-script' stdout output: Wed May 6 15:14:07 2020 NOTE: the current --script-security setting may allow this
