  1. I would sure like some help getting this working again.
  2. I've had that drive in the machine for over a year. I've gotten this message a few times in the last week. i suppose that could be a random kernel issue, as you say, but I wonder if there's any way to actually troubleshoot it, vs assume it's a kinda known issue and ignore it.
  3. That doesn't sound good. How might I try to identify and then fix these issues? I was looking at the SSD trim application, and I think it was set to disabled. I just changed it to daily at 8:50 after posting, as a test. I just looked at the log and see these as the last items in there... 4. I have been passing through a USB controller for a year or more to my VM, to which I connect my keyboard, and occasionally plug in my phone to load music onto it. When I updated to RC .7 from the last beta, it stopped working. I updated to .8, still not working. I'm now running 6.7.0 and it still doesn't work. I saw there were some changes to how to pass through controllers and devices, but from what I've read, the method I use should still work. I've unselected the controller in the VM setup, booted to the VM, shut it down, and re-selected it, and that didn't get it working. How might I go about getting this working again? 5. I've gotten this message emailed to me a few times over the last week. I really have no idea what it's trying to tell me (other than there's an issue) or where to go about trying to fix it. Any ideas what needs fixed? media-diagnostics-20190518-1250.zip
  6. I have this in my syslinux.cfg file... label KVM with GUI/unRAID OS menu default kernel /bzimage append vfio-pci.ids=1b21:1142 intel_iommu=on pcie_acs_override=downstream,multifunction initrd=/bzroot,/bzroot-gui which worked great until about rc7, and now I cannot get my VM to recognize my USB keyboard, or any hard drives I connect to the USB port. Do these changes have anything to do with my new issue, or is it just coincidence and I need to look elsewhere for a solution to this new problem? if so, where might I look next? Thanks media-diagnostics-20190511-1957.zip
  7. I upgraded to rc7, then 8, and now the final version. in all 3 versions, I've lost the USB controller in my VM. I un-selected the (other PCI devices) rebooted the VM, then stopped, and re-selected it, and it still isn't being recognized (I can't use my keyboard in the VM). I saw some mention about changing the way devices are handled, but I don't follow unraid closely enough to know if this is my problem, or something else. i've posted my diagnostics. i didn't see anything obvious in there, but maybe one of you is able to see what happened and point me to a solution. Thanks media-diagnostics-20190511-1957.zip
  8. I have 2 4TB discs in my array (Disc2 and Disc3). I've moved all my movies to these 2 discs. When I check the size of all the movies and associated files in Windows Explorer, it reports they take 7.6 TB When I look at my array in unRAID, those discs show 3.97 and 3.93 full. I realize windows may not measure the same way as unRAID, but it seems I'm losing almost .4TB of space somehow. What am I missing? Why does unRAID not show as much free space as windows? I do use the recycle app, but it shows as empty, both in the app and in Putty/Midnight Commander. I'm confused.
  9. You've made my point, convert SELECTED into reference. there's no way to convert MARKED into reference. Also, you can only send one of them to the recycle bin (marked or selected; not both). As I said you cannot perform all actions on marked AND selected, which limits what one can do.
  10. the problem is that you can only delete selected, not marked files. however, you can't invert the marked files to the reference files, so you can't always delete the files you want. you can't mark the selected files as another example. The combinations available just don't let you "pick" what you want to delete. The point (for me) for finding duplicates is to delete the duplicate files, but the methods offered don't let me mark or select (pick) the right files easily. If you could delete selected instead of marked, that would help, but if you could just act on either marked or selected the same way, I could get done what I want.
  11. I really like your docker, in general, but in use, it causes me much frustration. PLEASE allow one to perform all actions on selected or marked. In practice, there is no good way to get a list selected and delete that selection. inverting the marking doesn't allow you to pick the reference files, so when one tries to actually do something, the options available just aren't adequate to allow me to do what I need.
  12. Does anyone know if unRAID specifically does or does not trigger system events? It seems like this would be 'normal' but I'm in no way qualified to have an opinion on this. I'm not sure where to find a Samba mailing list, nor do I want to try to learn whatever would be required to decipher such a list to look into what seems like a pretty specific and minor issue. I'd rather the unRAID folks, who likely know all about these things, offer an opinion of what may be happening here, and if it's fixable. Does unRAID need to be more thorough in triggering these events, or is JRMC just not seeing what's being flagged already. i.e. who can actually help me fix this issue?
  13. anyone? Should unRAID be triggering these events when a file gets moved via Sonarr after downloading? If not, can that be changed?
  14. My media software (JRiver Media Center) relies on "file system events" to trigger a new file to be imported to their software. Once new TV shows finish and are moved to their final location via Sonarr/Deluge or Sonarr/SABnzbd, they are not imported to JRiver. They said JRiver Media Center "relies on file system events (ie. it gets told when something changes), which unRAID seems to not be sending properly. A "correct" SMB implementation would send this, ie. a Windows server would. We'll ask the server if it can supply notifications, and if it says it does, then we'll rely on that. If it then doesn't actually send those, well." Do I have something setup wrong here?
  15. Thanks Jonnie. I'm almost done clearing the fourth drive and will start this tonight.
  16. I think I posted about duplicates a few years ago. I want to find that post, but there's no way to search for the term duplicate and the user JustinChase. Seems like an oversight, maybe I'm just missing it.
  17. I used unbalance to move some files, and it failed to delete the old files, so now I have duplicates on multiple discs. how do i find and remove the duplicates? I installed dupeguru, but it only looks at duplicates on shares, which these are not. The share only shows one of the files, no duplicates. i have started using MC to move from one disc to another, which is working, but this will require me to literally move every file from every disc to another disc to catch the duplicates, and this is just not practical. Any help is much appreciated. I've got terrabytes of duplicates now, and need to free up the space.
  18. I'm suddenly not having success running this. I've tried to scatter the files off of one drive to others, and after an hour of work, it gives a message such as this one... skipping:deletion:(rsync command was flagged):(/mnt/disk2/video/Racing/Formula 1/2012/Formula 1 - 2012 - Round 17 - India - Race.mkv) Why is it skipping the deletion? It seems I now have these files on both drives, but they show as one file when I view thru user shares. I tried to move them with MC in putty, but that just hangs MC. I then tried to gather the files to a disk, hoping that would remove them from the disk I'm trying to clear, but that is what actually generated the error above. I don't have any idea at this point how to consolidate these files. I've tried several times, and the files don't move off of the disk I'm trying to clear. Is there some way to reset the program and get it to actually move then delete the files?
  19. I've decided to downsize how much video I keep to reduce the number of drives in my system (and move to a smaller case). Is there any 'automated' or built in system or method to allow me to empty and remove drive(s) while keeping parity? I found a thread from 2013 about a method that requires putting the array in maintenance mode, running a command from console and waiting a long time, then creating a new configuration without the drive. If I had to do that multiple times to get it done, i think I'd just be better off doing a new config without the drives and just rebuilding parity. I think a program build around flexibility of number and size of drives should allow one to reduce as easily as add drives. Has this been simplified in the last half decade, or is it still very manual? Thanks
  20. Yeah, probably true. I'm just going to downgrade. I don't have time to muck about with things that used to work. Maybe I'll upgrade again in the future.
  21. some message about qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor I really wish things wouldn't randomly break with various updates. I understand they need to, but a warning, or built in help to get them working again is WAAAAYYYYY better than me having to navigate the forums looking for the right forum, then the right post just to get a previously working system working again. I can't start my VM until I resolve this, which is super annoying. How do I fix this new issue?????
  22. Thank you binhex! I really do appreciate your help with everything. Sorry I didn't check the FAQ first, a normal search didn't help. I'll check the FAQ first next time. I've updated all containers to match up all paths, and the settings inside all the dockers to match the updates, so I assume I should be good now/again.
  23. I'm having lots of issues with renaming/moving completed downloads now. I suspect I've not gotten the new SAB install finished correctly, since I dont' think I've changed Sonarr lately, and this all started after I had to reinstall SAB. Now, after downloading an nzb, SAB shows it's completed, no errors. Sonarr shows the show still in the download queue as if it's still downloading. I can live with this, but I'm also seeing garbage names of files, and they are not being moved to the correct location any longer. I've gone thru and checked all the settings I can think of related to this, and all seems well. I'm not sure if anyone else has had similar issues, or has an idea where to try to resolve this, but I'm stuck and frustrated at this point. Here is a shot showing the completed downloads in SAB... Here are my SAB settings that I think relate to this. I also have all 3 sorting options unchecked, so SAB should not be touching these. Here is a shot of a bunch of new Game of Thrones downloads that recently finished, notice the names of the files And another screenshot showing the folder location it was moved to... Here are my Sonarr renaming settings (which still seem to work just fine for Deluge)... Here are the completed NZB files as they display in Sonarr as unfinished...
  24. They are, and I didn't. Also, it seems no parity should be a reason for the system to 'make a bigger deal' about not being protected. Even if one wanted to run without parity for some reason, it should always be obvious that the array is not protected. In this case, the ONLY thing I can see that might indicate this is the small red text I has to scroll to even become aware of. I'll take the machine apart and check connections soon, but nothing really has changed other than the upgrade, so it would be a weird coincidence in timing, but certainly possible they are not related.
  25. Just upgraded and was poking around. Noticed a red warning after scrolling down the dashboard that the parity drive is missing. Looked, and yeah, seems to be. I wasn't presented any errors, and don't seem to be having any issues using the server, but i suspect I'm now unprotected, and that seems bad. Diagnostics attached. media-diagnostics-20180505-1549.zip
