why are you making and 2nd partition on the cache drive? all of my apps (sab, cp, sb etc) are running as /mnt/cache/.sabnzdb etc - this way the mover does not touch anything starting with a period as the 1st character of the dir name, and it gets auto mounted, and exported as a share avail across the lan for maint etc. I would consider changing to something like this - you are making a ton of work for yourself using a 2nd partition.... Is the rebuild parity function a external script or program that gets ran? Reason why I ask is sometime the rebuild parity takes so much system resources that the web GUI stalls until it is finished. But telnet works just fine. Is it possible to get a like maybe every 5 or 10% a status update thrown out to the syslog so we can monitor there during the rebuild? Thanks Myk

do you have the mover script setup to run every night? Its scheduled at bootup via a cron job from the GUI settings.... Settings > Share Settings > Mover Settings at the bottom - do you have mover logging enabled, and is the mover itself enabled? Myk

am waiting also, i mainly get this error in the 1st 10% of my parity check 50% of the time. Last time - 2 nights ago, it was trying to spindown disk6 and got the error and redballed my drive. Had to remove it, readd it and let parity that finished correctly the night before rebuild the drive. This has happened 3 times in the last 2-4 months.... Myk

I think the reason is SF is not a plugin, its a GUI replacement.... Just my opinion Myk

it supports PPTP, so you can setup that, and a PPTP connection from your remote machine, and it will show up as a ip that you define in your router. Again, this is how I do remote maint to my entire home lan. using this method does not open your unraid to the internet, only the PPTP login can have access. Myk

I use PfSense as a router and PPTP into it, my box then shows up as a local ip on my network for my machine and then I can do anything I want.. Does your router support PPTP (its built into winodws etc)? Myk

in sab config itself - check the folders section and make sure they are all going off your install/data dir - ex: Default Base Folder: /mnt/cache/.sabnzbd, then everything will use that folder as its base. How much mem do you have? I am only running with 2G here and no problems Myk

I have my sab setup install/data dir to my cache drive - i use /mnt/cache/.sabnzbd then it dont use the ram drive and cause you kernel panics Myk

Have you tried a different network cable or port on your router/switch? Does your router have a link test function? Some do, will tell you if a specific port has a link and what speed that link is.... Myk

I had both my basic and upgraded pro key on my drive - basic as named something.key.old and new one was something.key unRAID saw both because it looks for "key" "anywhere" in the file name, and it will use the basic 1st even if there is a pro key there. I would think if it saw both, pro would over ride the basic key....? Myk

I have found out that by fixing the ip address via router using mac address - causes the server to quit reporting its ip to the network, hence tower is no longer found and my browser eventually goes out on the net to tower.com So I forced the ip in the network configs (I like having my router in control of this stuff) so if I need to change something I have to do it in unraid vs router ip mappings - all my other devices work fine via router ip mapping, just unRAID does not Myk

One thing which would be nice to see and I have seen alot ask for it here and there but a ..... term session via your web browser - what comes in perfect as it is used in FreePBX/Asterisk is mindterm - java ssh/telnet app in a browser window - limited version - non commercial is free, they do supply a free compiled app - it is easily called from a web page. All that is needed for a plugin in some basic config vars - like port, ssh or telnet mode etc. Login/pass can be defined in the var sections if your environment is secure - otherwise the java app will ask for login/pass. Granted this should not be open to the wild internet as you would be asking for trouble. I PPTP into my router from my win7 laptop and it then gets a local lan ip, something like this would make it nice to be able to ssh/telnet into the unRAID server and do maint if needed (ex - like at my parents house etc )...... I am using the one from the official wiki plugin page, not the version from unmenu...... Myk I don't have this behaviour and browsing the syslog works as expected (doing that a lot lately). What browser are you using (or did you try with different browsers & cache cleared) ? It's the apcupsd plugin. Take it out and you should not have the problem. Use a different plugin for apcupsd. syslog works fine in simplefeatures now! //Peter

Have this same problem - the log updates about every 2-3 seconds, jumping back to the top - using FF 12.0 Myk I don't have this behaviour and browsing the syslog works as expected (doing that a lot lately). What browser are you using (or did you try with different browsers & cache cleared) ?
