  1. Hey Vic, this is what I did, maybe it will help you... First, I tested using LAN IP of the server (same as my UnRAID) - I was connected to the same LAN. Then, I've set a NAT on my firewall - also pfSense - for all the ports described in the docs (see below with my UnRAID LAN IP masked) Finally, I've set a DNS record so I could use it instead of my public IP. I know this is basic, but make sure your UnRAID server can actually access the internet trough your firewall. If still not working, maybe logs and error msgs may help indicate the problem. Good luck!
  2. You must set "ID Server:" on the client to your public-ip or hostname. Ports must be opened/forwarded in your firewall. This is mine on a Windows 11 machine, once you click OK you should see a green button + "Ready" in the status bar.
  3. Working fine for me... with encryption enabled (without encryption is also working fine) I've installed both server and relay and forwarded all ports in my firewall. I've also added DNS entries for both public and internal DNS servers so I could use my own sub-domain name in the clients.
  4. Awesome! Really appreciate. Testing it now. EDIT: Working like a charm. Big thanks!!!
  5. I am also very interested in this template... I hope someone can create one for the community.
  6. Sounds like a PMS issue... likely some PMS crash. Did you check PMS logs? Maybe some new channel or plug-in was installed and it's now causing problems... maybe some new setting... Doesn't looks like an issue with the container itself. If you restart PMS from inside the container the problem get fixed as well? If so, one more indicator that it could be a PMS problem.
  7. I am sorry, I think the proper term is "official channel" (not plugin)... you should be able to see it inside the Plex Channel Directory. Link just for reference: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/186575/release-sub-zero-1-4-27-980-subtitles-done-right/p1 I am asking @pannal (the developer) to better explain in his own words the need for unrar.
  8. Thanks for replying guys. I have that exactly same setup, however I am helping @pannal with beta testing a development branch which requires unrar to work properly with all souces (I guess some sources have the subs compressed in RAR format). I think @pannal tried to find some RAR tool embedded in python which is not available so installing unrar is a must. Do you guys see any other solution here besides forking as mentioned by @saarg? If unrar is becoming necessary for Sub-Zero (which is a official plugin and extremely important for us foreigners) would be possible to @linuxserver.io add it to the docker template? Thanks once again, your guys are awesome! Loving the UnRAID 6 (my update from v5 was longtime overdue) and the new features, especially the Docker capabilities. Will finally setup some automation tool like Sonaar and CouchPotato using the incredible amount of docker templates currently available.
  9. I have what's likely a stupid question but since I have no clue on how to accomplish what I want after doing hours of search I will ask any way. I need unrar installed inside Plex docker container so Sub-Zero plugin can work properly with subtitles. How can I accomplish this and make it stick after docker restart/reboot/stop/start/update? Appreciate your time.
  10. This is such a nice job. Thank you so much guys for your efforts and for sharing it with us. Really appreciate it.
  11. BTW: I had time to test the mobo and CPU and everything was properly detected by UnRAID. I've even precleared 2 WD Reds (2TB each). So far so good...
  12. My Plex is located in my office and my devices are at home. I play from Android and Chromecast and always need subtitles. Transcoding is a must for me (I didn't need it when my server was at home). I just got back today, I hope to have time this week to connect everything :-)
  13. I have a Rosewill RSV-8 (I think the build is very similar to yours) - and 3 of my friends have it as well. I and one of my friends had issues with the eSATA connector in the back of the case, after replacing the eSATA connectors all the errors went away. I've replace it using this bracket that I got from Amazon (remove the connector from the bracket and careful install it in the back of your Sans Digital case) http://www.amazon.com/KingWin-Esata-Bracket-Cable-ESAC-02/dp/B002TMPWH8/ I can't confirm 100% your problem is the same but that worked for me (my disks had ATA errors showing up in the SMART reports). I think my eSATA cable it's pretty large but it's working fine for me. Good luck and please keep us posted on the results.
  14. BTW: Looks like a couple of SATA power cable splits were giving problems... Server is working fine now. I've cancelled parity check since I was afraid that one of the disks would fail and I currently don't have a spare disk to replace. I am getting 2 WD Red 2TB and once I get back home I will replace disk2 and run a full parity check (hoping that no other disk will failing during the process). Thanks for all the assistance!
  15. Big thanks G! Just ordered the ASUS Z87-PRO (V EDITION) on Amazon Warehouse Deals for $130 bucks I didn't knew about the missing VT-x on the 4770K, very important detail. Just ordered the 4790K - someday I may decide to do some overclock In 2 weeks when I get back home I will assemble everything and post the results here. Thanks once again!
  16. What's your current CPU? How many disks do you currently have? Would you like to have room for more in the future? Until today I've only used UnRAID with old MOBOs (I also use this very same card for 8 of disks), all of them worked fine (the only failure was the one that wasn't able to boot from USB) Assuming you have less than 8 disks and a sigle PCIe card any cheap mainboard with a 1 PCIe slot should do the job. Look for the cheapest that supports your CPU in Newegg if you can't find any buy a new cheap CPU + RAM and you will be fine.
  17. Hi guys, I am about to upgrade my UnRAID server that I mainly use as a remote Plex Server (server is located at my office and not at home). Here is what I currently have: * i3 CPU (upgraded from a dual-core) which is not enough for my Plex transcoding needs * 8 SATA discs inside a Rosewill RSV-S8 connected to a PCIe x1 card (very slow parity checks - 15mb avg) - I am upgrading this card to a Rosewill RC-218 which is x4 hoping that speed will get better * 8 SATA discs connected to a SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 * 4 discs connected into MOBO SATA ports (current MOBO is a cheap Foxcomm) This is what am looking at: * i7-4770K CPU - I need more, more transcoding power * keep my same discs and cards (AOC-SASLP-MV8 + RC-218) And optionally (not a must have): * 2 additional MOBO SATA ports (for cache and spare disc pre-clear) * dual NIC * 1 additional PCIe port (x4 at least) for further expansion * PCI slot for NIC (in case internal NIC is not detected by UnRAID) Notes: * power consumption not an issue for me * I am using v5.0 but looking to upgrade to v6 to use VM features I am having a really hard time picking one up at Newegg (I am in the US now but in 2 weeks I will be back to South America so there's no room for mistakes) - I am very afraid about drivers support on UnRAID, specially in regards to disc detection and parity check errors (I won't be able to test this here before I head back home) Budget wise, I am willing to spend up to $200 in this MOBO (I was hoping to find something for less than $100 but then I found out that would be impossible and also unwise from me to have such CPU running in a cheap MOBO) What MOBO would you guys recommend for me? Really appreciate your help! Regards, chopeta
  18. OK, found the instructions in the wiki: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=19385 Parity-Check in progres
  19. OK... clear now I thought I knew how to make disk12 show with a green ball again but I don't It's possible to "trust my parity" on v5 ? Here's a screenshot of my main just in case (should sent it at the beginning) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0mYGQLWndqzOTJGelFpaHhfNUk/edit?usp=sharing
  20. My parity disk is OK and has no issues. Problems are with disk2 and disk12. I think I will try to tell UnRAID that disk12 is good and them I will go for disk2 (first trying to copy data regularly to disk16 and if the disk fails I will buy a new one and try to reconstruct disk2 using parity). What do you think?
  21. Now I think I am even more confused... I can read data from all disks, including disk2 and disk12. disk2 is green (but when running SMART I got bad errors, it's likely going to fail if I try to run a parity check or a rebuild - I don't even want to copy its data because I think it will failed and the array will go down with 2 failures) disk12 is red (DISABLED but SMART report looks good, likelly some cable issues, I believe data here is good and intact) Just to see if I understood you right: You recommend I try to copy data from disk2 into disk16 outside UnRAID (invalidating my parity) and them rebuild my parity from scratch. Is that correct? If so, how do I copy the data from disk2 to disk16 using MC? (I never used it before) Thanks for your assistance, really appreciate it.
  22. Here I come again with another disk issue, I hope someone can assist me here so I don't have to ask Tom for help My UnRAID has 17 drives (parity + 16 disks) and is running v5.0.5 I got disk12 (Seagate 2TB) marked as disabled (red ball) but it seems to be good (no SMART errors) and at the same time disk2 (Seagate 1.5TB) doesn't look good even when GUI is showing it with a green ball (found this during boot because of a reiserfs error msg. and after running SMART I got Reallocated_Sector_Ct=379, Current_Pending_Sector=19 and Offline_Uncorrectable=19). The thing is that the only spare disk I have right now is my current disk16 (Seagate 1.5TB) which is part of the array but is totally empty (no data on it) Is there a way where I can tell UnRAID that I trust my disk12 and them rebuild disk2 (based on parity and assuming it's still good) using my current disk16? (I know after that I will end up 16 drives in my array). Really appreciate your help, specially today after being beat by Germans 1x7
  23. OK, so my problem was solved with direct help from Tom/LimeTech. I am updating this so other users know what happened and how it was solved, however I can't vow for this to be a solution for others. It has worked for me under direct supervisor from LimeTech. Here are the steps: 0. Disable all add-ons (renamed plugins/extra folders and extra lines from go script) 1. Install a new disk that will replace the old disk15. Don’t do anything to the config, just physically hook up the disk. 2. Go to Utils page and click “New Config”. Check the checkbox and click Apply. 3. Go to Main page and assign all your disks again. Refer to your screenshots (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0mYGQLWndqzR29HVFFWMVFYWFU/edit?usp=drivesdk) and make sure have it right. When you get to disk15, you should be assigning the new disk. 4. From a telnet session or the console, type this command: mdcmd set invalidslot 15 5. Important: after typing above command, do NOT do anything else on the webGui except this: On the Main page, check the ‘Maintenance mode’ check box and then click ‘Start’. (ie, do not click refresh or refresh the browser, just check the checkbox and click Start). You should see all disks ‘green’ except disk15 which should be ‘orange’ and you should see a data rebuild taking place. Here's my main during the rebuilding: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0mYGQLWndqzWXBBbXUwcnRMN0k/edit?usp=drivesdk Once it was completed I had some filesystem corruption that was fixed by following dgaschk suggestions. Big thanks! Thanks Tom for his quick response and all the help. I am now going to install my new SASLP-MV8 Go UnRAID!!!!
  24. Thanks dgaschk (just noticed your reply). I hope you are right and I can get this issue resolved without loosing data. But I prefer to wait for LT guidance to be sure I won't break anything (more than already is).
