  1. I currently use a 1TB Samsung 850 PRO cache drive. I’m adding a second Drive to increase cache capacity, but this time it’s a Samsung 850 EVO. Is there a setting available to prioritize use of the PRO drive until it is full and then spillover to the EVO?
  2. BINGO! That's it. I found it by looking into the descriptions. Forgot about the Help button. Thanks! "Pause an array operation (Parity Check, Parity-Sync/Disk Rebuild, disk Clear) if mover is running. These two types of activity adversely affect each other's performance due to contention on the disk drives so it is more efficient to not have them running at the same time."
  3. I have both Mover Tuning and Parity Tuning installed. I have Monthly Parity Checks and Mover scheduled to run at night, but I’d like to go a step further and, when both Mover is running, the Monthly Parity Check pauses… I just can’t get my head around the right combination of settings to make it happen help would be greatly appreciated
  4. Hi Guys, Anything else you'd add to this list of Unraid server-specific steps to prevent playback buffering? - Use a Cache drive - Set Mover to run only during off hours - Set Parity checks to run only during off hours - Use Gigabit connectivity - Isolate Movies and TV shares on their own dedicated hard drives - Use Spin Up Group(s) for Movies and TV shares - Put Movies and TV drives on the same controller
  5. Are you saying that controller induced buffering can't be avoided? Or is there a specific controller that doesn't have the problem? I looked at the controller recommendation thread, but didn't see mentions of this issue, so not sure if the recommended hardware fixes the problem or not
  6. So I've got my Spin Up Groups in place for my Movies and TV shares. Are there any other optimizations I should be putting in place to prevent Kodi from buffering when playing content from my server? I'm on a gigabit network. Throughput is very strong. I have cache settings on my Kodi device. Are there any settings to adjust pertaining to Mover and/or Parity Check?
  7. Seeing some listed as Healthy and others as Error. Ran Long Smart Reports before exporing Diagnostics. Would really appreciate some guidance on which drives should be removed. (I've recently deleted about 100TB, thus the massive drive count/low usage) tower-diagnostics-20221122-1030.zip
  8. So the fix is to set a longer spin delay, ya? Like 4 hours? And then how do I define my "spinup groups"?
  9. thanks! How does spin down delay factor in then?
  10. I understand that there is a correlation between spin up groups and potential buffering in Kodi, but beyond that I'm not sure where to go... what is are the recommended settings for spin up groups, if my goal is to avoid buffering in Kodi with 4K Remuxes?
  11. Nah, I’m using the right devices. ODroid N2, Shield Pro, ATV4K (minus pass through)
  12. Only asking about hardwired. Would Debra potentially be too slow?
  13. I only use Kodi for my personal 4K Remuxes from my Unraid Server. Home network at my old house was Gifabit, but I’d still run into buffering from time to time, despite tons of attempted optimizations via advanced settings. Trying to avoid any buffering this time. Would it be beneficial to jump to 10 Gigabit infrastructure, this time? Playback devices would likely still be gigabit unless I can upgrade Shield Pro or Odroid N2 via USB 2.5-10gig adapter…
  14. When using Mullvad with Wireguard, via Custom VPN option, is it necessary to enable to VPN Killswitch in the Mullvad configurator? Or should I leave that disabled and let the docker/iptables handle the killswitch function?
  15. How do I clear it? I don't see any options to acknowledge/clear warning. Only Ignore
  16. Are my drive temps high? Case is clean. Airflow hasn't changed.
  17. Totally stumped. Temps are stable during the day, but I get a CPU Overheating warning from Fix Common Problems every night around 4AM Any insights in my Diagnostics? tower-diagnostics-20201015-0551.zip
  18. UPDATE: Happy to report that replacing my Linksys EA9500 router with an ASUS RT-AX88U AX6000, turning on Adaptive QOS and prioritizing Streaming Media fixes the problem so effectively that I am now able to watch two simultaneous NAS to Kodi box streams of Lucy (4K Remux), WITH 100MB/s download going on. In real-time, the router essentially deprioritizes the 100MB/s download to about 80MB/s and the streams both are 100% stable. I'm shocked. Not to mention, with WIFI 6 speeds, I'm getting over 500mbps from the router to my computer which is in the same room.

  21. Thanks. And final question... there's no way to set Parity Checks to run at multiple windows, right? IE from 12AM - 7AM and from 3PM-5PM?
  22. I've read through a number of posts, but I'm still a bit confused as to the best settings for CA Auto Turbo Write Mode. I have 1 cache, dual 8TB parity, 18 drives ranging from 4TB to 8TB. I'm struggling to determine optimal settings for the following two parameters Disks Allowed To Be Spun Down Before Invoking Turbo Mode Polling Time In Seconds Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  23. OK, thanks both of you. With an 8TB parity, my checks usually run about 20ish hours. Any issues with checks running over like 4 nights?
