June 3, 201214 yr The DB backups are all done by couchpotato. I haven't noticed the issue with the database being encrypted. I'll have to play around with it and see what I can come up with. Couchpotato doesn't have a real use in my house as we don't watch live TV so never see trailers. I don't know about a movie usually until its released, so I have nothing for couchpotato to search for, . In saying that, I'm glad the users here post things like this, I probably wouldn't see the issue any other way.
June 3, 201214 yr mmmm always around 400 movies n the wanted list... about 6000 movies in the managed list me a media packrat
June 3, 201214 yr Well CP seems to handle shutdowns pretty well from the quick look I just took. Killing the pid forcefully(-9), killing via the plugin config, or shutdown from the CP webgui all three gracefully shuts down the thread and exits, but leaves behind the other DB files, but no error on start either. Since I don't have a test server set up all my testing is done on the production server, so I'm not willing to do an unclean shutdown to test the theory further, I will, however, look at how CP does its backups to see if there is anything worthwhile there
June 3, 201214 yr I've been out of the game for some time as to how to install things, but I have Sab, Sick, Couch, Headphones all working as they should on unRaid 4.7 I am about to upgrade to the 5.x beta and was wondering how this "package" installer works. I have downloaded the zip, but now what? -=Jason=-
June 3, 201214 yr Extract the files, then put the .plg files on your flash drive in /config/plugins/, start the server and they install automatically. Go to the settings page on the webgui to configure and start the plug-ins. Once you enable them they will start automatically when you reboot
June 3, 201214 yr Sorry I couldnt respond sooner, drive was dying in my server. Deleted the db files and it started so that must be the issue, when I need to restart the server I do a shutdown -r now. I just need to shut it down first before hand. Does the powerdown script stop it correctly or do I always need to shutdown couchpotato first?
June 3, 201214 yr I've never had an issue and I use the powerdown script, so it should stop it correctly
June 3, 201214 yr I think I want to install on my cache drive correct? I don't want it installed to /usr/local/couchpotato_v2 do I? I had it installed before on /mnt/cache/.Custom/CouchPotato -=Jason=-
June 3, 201214 yr You can have it installed in either place, the important part is where the data directory is located, to survive a reboot it MUST be on a disk. Good part of installing to /usr/local is anytime you reboot, it would auto-update

Good part of installing to /usr/local is anytime you reboot, it would auto-update ahh I just saw the little box for Data Directory.... install app to /usr/local and have data logged to cache would seem like its the correct thing to do. am I right? -=Jason=-
June 4, 201214 yr is there a CP script like Sickbeard that wills scrape background image and posters and extra fanart for the movies? -=Jason=-
June 4, 201214 yr look for EMM ember media manager or otherwise Xbmc does a pretty good job for english movies..
June 6, 201214 yr First, it's difficult to keep up with changes being made and discussed in both threads, this, and the bennichan thread. Maybe there can/should be just one place to discuss the plugins; I suggest this thread is best, since these are the versions that are being updated actively. Also CouchPotato_v2 is a wonky name, isn't it? Why not just CouchPotato2 or even CP2, to keep it simple? However, I'm still stuck trying to get CP2 running on my box I've installed and tried several versions of the CP2 plugins, and even had one running properly at one time, but now, it won't start at all, and SimpleFeatures just hangs when I enable the CP2 plugin (couchpotato_v2_mod.plg), It's so messed up now that there's nothing worth trying to save from my setup, so I'm happy to do a fresh install. Can anyone give me step by step instructions to just remove all traces of the current couch Potato plugin from my server, so that it's like it was never installed, then the steps to install it "correctly"? I am not currently using a cache drive, and want to install the plugins to my /usr/mnt/plugins directory. I'm really looking for a very basic install, nothing special or fancy, but one that will just install, run, and work properly. Thanks for any help.
June 7, 201214 yr To remove all traces, delete the install and data directory that you set, if they are set in ram then a reboot will clear them out. Delete the plug-in from /boot/config/plugins/ and delete the couchpotato_v2 folder from the same directory. Reboot and all traces should be gone. Since I don't really use Couchpotato I'll clean it out of my system and try an install in a user share like you want and see if I run into any trouble.
June 7, 201214 yr Okay, I tried that, and removed everything related to SickBeard also. I left the folder and files for SABnzbdb, since it seems to be working okay, but I did upgrade to the newest plugin you released. I put all 3 plugins into the /boot/config/plugins/ folder and rebooted the server. It hung at starting. I let it sit for 20 minutes, but is still just shows Array Status: "Starting...", so I finally just putty'd in and "shutdown -r now", which it's currently doing. Before doing this I removed all plugins, except SAB, so hopefully it will at least restart properly, and SAB will install and run properly. I really don't think I have anything "special" about my server that would be causing this, but I'm happy to provide any information necessary to help try to fix this, since it's getting pretty annoying that it just doesn't work at all. I took a photo of the monitor connected to the server, since there seems to be no way to just copy the log; and there is also no way I can see to scroll the screen up to see the rest of the messages/errors, but here is what I can see. rectory tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now cp: cannot stat '/tmp/SABnzbd-h ttp://sourceforge.net/projects/sabnzbdplus/files/sabnzbdplus-beta/0.7.0RC2/*':N o such file or directory rm: cannot remove '/tmp/SABnzbd-http://sourceforge.net/p rojects/sabnzbdplus/files/sabnzbdplus-beta/0.7.0RC2':No such file or directory r m: cannot remove '/tmp/SABnzbd-http://sourceforge.net/projects/sabnzbdplus/files /sabnzbdplus-beta/0.7.0RC2-src.tar.gz':No such file or directory Starting sabnzb d: sudo -u nobody python /usr/local/sabnzbd/SABnzbd.py -d -s 0.0.0.0:8082 --con fig-file /mnt/user/backup/plugins/sabnzbd --pid /var/run/sabnzbd > /dev/null 2>& 1python: can't open file 'usr/local/sabnzbd/SABnzbd.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory When restarting, it still hangs on "Starting..." and also needs/wants to to a parity check :( clearly the new SAB plugin isn't working now for me either now. I removed that plugin and folder, so there is nothing in the plugin folder at /boot/config/plugins except for the Notifications folder that SimpleFeatures places there. It seems to have restarted this time, but is still stuck at "Starting..." even with no plugins set to run at startup. I'm really having a difficult time with what seems to be pretty easy and direct for everyone else. How can I get to the bottom of all these stupid issues once and for all?
June 7, 201214 yr I have mine installed to /mnt/cache/.apps/ also data to those directors and it boots just fine. I was having problems when installing to the default location I was having problems -= Jason =-
June 7, 201214 yr I'm thinking it MUST have to do with installing to an array drive causing your problems JustinChase.... As for installing to default location, not sure what would cause a problem with that, many users have it installed that way(me for one) and haven't had a single issue from it there either. I'm not currently watching anything so I'll move my CP directories to the array and see if I get the same issue EDIT: Question, are you installing to the array or just have data directory on the array
June 7, 201214 yr Alright, I had the same issue, and although it has been appearing to be CP at fault, I think it actually is Sab(from the errors you posted) Can you restart and when its stuck on "starting..." run a couple commands for me from telnet? ps aux | grep sab ps aux | grep couch ps aux | grep sick [code] If you are running anymore of these plug-ins do the same, but I'm expecting its sab causing the issue. I had the same issue and sabnzbd was stuck trying to start, I killed the process and the array came up after that. Without being able to see the entire error its hard to figure where the problem is. From your post I see that tar had an error, most likely due to not getting the file downloaded, but thats all pure speculation
June 7, 201214 yr I'm thinking it MUST have to do with installing to an array drive causing your problems Question, are you installing to the array or just have data directory on the array I'm not sure, but the latest time, I didn't modify anything from the plugin I downloaded. I simply copied it to the /boot/config/plugins folder and rebooted the server, and got the errors I typed above. the .cfg file from a formerly working installation is # sabnzbd configuration SERVICE="enable" INSTALLDIR="/usr/local/sabnzbd" DATADIR="/mnt/user/backup/plugins/sabnzbd" PORT="8082" RUNAS="nobody" INSTALLBETA="yes" It seems to be a "normal" selection for the install and data directories. However, I'm happy to change that to anything that persists over a reboot; I'm not tied to that in any way. The only think I can think of that isn't quite normal is that the BenniChan plugins defaulted to different ports than the current plugins do. I can't remember which ports it's set to use now, but I'd had them set to use SickBeard => 8081 SABnzbd => 8082 CouchPotato => 8083 and that worked fine at the time. Can you restart and when its stuck on "starting..." run a couple commands for me from telnet? ps aux | grep sab ps aux | grep couch ps aux | grep sick [code] If you are running anymore of these plug-ins do the same, but I'm expecting its sab causing the issue. From your post I see that tar had an error, most likely due to not getting the file downloaded, but thats all pure speculation I will try to do that later. I have some house guests over now, and they are watching TV, so I can't reboot now, especially if it's going to hang the server, and cause issues with TV playback. I don't have cable, so pre-recorded is all there is to choose from. I'm hopeful they will stop watching later, and then I'll add the SAB plugin back to /boot/config/plugins, and reboot, and will run the grep commands if/when it gets stuck again. the big thing I saw in the error was some message about a failure to download a file from (I think) here... http://sabnzbdplus.sourceforge.net/version/latest it was a line in the syslog, but everyone was waiting and I can't remember the command to copy the log to someplace else, and Hydrocodone doesn't help, so it got killed upon reboot. I'll post that with any other information later, when I have time to test again/more. thanks again for your help!!
June 8, 201214 yr Is there an elegant way of updating from the previous CP plugin to V2? I took a read through and didn't see any step-by-steps for those of us who are still on the previous version. Thanks.
June 8, 201214 yr You can remove the old plugin and add the new. During the setup wizard you can select the old database so you don't lose any if your movies your waiting for. As far as your settings you'll have to set it up again. You could always leave the old plugin enabled until you have v2 set up so you can copy your settings. Sent from my HTC Vivid

Sent from my HTC Vivid You mean to just remove the *.plg file and replace it with the new one? Right. If you want to switch from CP V1 to CP V2 just remove CP V1 plg file and copy the new one (for CP V2) on your flash drive. But you should know that you must setup your CP V2 from the beginning because there is no way to import CP V1 settings to CP V2. However it is possible to import your wanted list on the CP V2 wizard.
June 14, 201214 yr I just installed the plugin manually and it installed and started fine. I don't know what the issue was with trying it at reboot, but it seems fine now. Maybe it was a timing issue with SAB not already being installed or something?
