This is not really a valid measure method.

The thing is, that robocopy INSTANTLY slows down if there is "something in the way" (like another connection from the pc to elsewhere), but takes AGES to speed up again later on.

Even if you are not aware of other connections, they can happen in the background and maybe invisible to you.

So you may take 100 more samples and add them up, very likely the results will be more and more alike each others then.

(Networks can really be misleading and are almost not reproducable)

Maybe not. It is the best I can offer at the moment though.

I did not do 100 samples, but I have done multiple copy operations over the last days that all gave me the same feeling of 7.2.0-rc1 being significantly slower than 7.1.4.

Needless to say that I am open to a better valid measure method...

Just something I think is worthy to note, at some point I think you guys need to consider making something like the mover tuning settings native to unraid rather then letting people rely on the plugin. The mover is such an integral part of unraid and forcing users to rely on 3rd party and sometimes unreliable plug-ins isn't a particularly great user experience.

At the very least, when mover is set to a schedule, a setting to disable mover if a parity check and / or disc rebuild is in progress.

Just coming back in here after a few days to say generally my server has continued to be stable after the upgrade to 7.2-rc1.

The only real point of note that I needed to deal with was the SNMP plugin broke, I had to remove and reinstall the SNMP plugin to get it working again.

Other than that my server is working as expected.

Hardware transcoding using my Intel 12700 iGPU continues to work, all my NFS mounts work, VMs, dockers, tailscale, etc... all seem ok.

You can do it the other way around with the Parity Check Tuning plugin (i.e. pause the array operation if mover is running).

After running 7.2rc for some time, I think, everything is running, but the GUI became utterly slow :-(

Every Click now has a serious delay until "something happens". You have to wait until you can go on. Its not a second or so, but maybe 500-800ms.

Although nothing seems to be wrong, it is a noticable difference to 7.1.

Or am I too hectic ?

If I have 7.2 RC-1 and my license expires will I be able to upgrade to stable 7.2 or I be stuck there till I pay 30$?

If the license expires before 7.2.0 stable is out, you would need to extend the license to get it.

With 3 to 8 devices, it will default to a single vdev raidz1; with 9 or more devices, a single vdev raidz2.

Before, with 3 or more devices, it always defaulted to raidz1, and with the most vdevs possible, e.g., with 9 devices, it defaulted to raidz1 with 3 vdevs of 3 devices each.
