OpenVPN Server Plugin : 32-bit and 64-bit Version

Featured Replies

Just for clarity this user fixed their own install only (the wording could be misinterpreted).

All other users and new users are still vulnerable.

Is there a way to bypass the vpn tunnel for a range of outgoing ports and/or is there a way for incoming request to something such as subsonic to not respond over the vpn tunnel?

When an incoming request from the internet over a port such as 4040 for subsonic arrives, the app responds over various high ranged ports back to the client.

64bit B4 have some issue with PHP, right now I do not know how to solve this. This break to save config.

And I'm going to upgrade OpenVPN as well.

New version for x64 , saving config files are now solved! update via GUI or install attached x64 file on post#1, and then do a update from GUI.

Hi sorry to bother will the software build update to 2.3.4? I updated the plugin and the plugin updated but the software build says I am on 2.3.2 but on line is 2.3.4. Is this normal and should I care?

Thank you this is one of my favorite plugins.

Have a quick question.

I have 2 servers one is stable, one is for development.

so lets say my stable is ipadderss 192.168.1.20 and dev is 192.168.1.21.

the stable has open vpn server.

I log in through windows client, type 192.168.1.20 and I have web gui for stable.

but when I type 192.168.1.21 I get nothing no connection.

can this be added in some way?

thank you again.

Hi Thornwood!

The issue is that we cant see any other clients/machines on LAN except our server, to solve this we need a static route on the router.

I have not done this, but there are a lot of solution out there how to do this.

The plugin have been updated with some new features.

After installing the pkg, which failed, I can no longer use wget. I keep seeing this error.

wget: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It won't download anything! What do I do? Did it break libssl?

Verifying package openssl-1.0.1h-i486-1.txz.

Installing package openssl-1.0.1h-i486-1.txz:

Executing install script for openssl-1.0.1h-i486-1.txz.

Package openssl-1.0.1h-i486-1.txz installed.

Package openssl-0.9.8r-i486-3 upgraded with new package /boot/packages/openssl-1.0.1h-i486-1.txz.

success

file /boot/packages/openssl-solibs-1.0.1h-i486-1.txz: downloading from ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/os/Linux/distributions/slackware//slackware-current/slackware/a/openssl-solibs-1.0.1h-i486-1.txz ... bad download, deleting

Warning: unlink(/boot/packages/openssl-solibs-1.0.1h-i486-1.txz): No such file or directory in /usr/local/sbin/installplg on line 70

I ended up getting it to work. During the install off openssl, the package deletes the solibs on the server, so when it comes time to download the package via WGET it fails. I just downloaded it on my computer and transferred the files to the packages folder under boot and reinstalled.

I will release a new version for x64 soon that give access to your complete home LAN, works perfect!

  • Author

New version available (2.0.11) for x64, now complete LAN is accessible. I'm using  iptables rules  to support this.

Please delete /boot/config/plugins/openvpnserver/openvpnserver.cfg so the default settings are loaded.

//Peter

Working fine with the new version. Still need to check internet access if it is working or not but remote access is fine

I need help setting up an Iptable so that I can view my plex library from outside of the network. I don't know anything about setting this up and to be quite honest, its confusing as hell to me and very discouraging.

I did find this on Plex's forums: https://forums.plex.tv/index.php/topic/112441-how-to-vpn-and-plex-tutorial/?hl=%2Bplex+%2Bvpn

It says that this will work on a DDWRT router that supports iptables.....so, will this work the same on Unraid since it supports iptables?

I would be forever grateful if someone could help me.

it would be a lot easier if you signed into plex with your plex account? Then can view from anywhere

No it would not. You cannot view it from anywhere if its behind a VPN. Thats why I asked if someone could help me route Plex's traffic outside of the VPN.
