Im in the same boat as Kx2000.  I spent alot of time dialing in my Unraid v6b6 to downgrade to v6b4.  Is there any alternative to SNAP to mount an individual hard drive?

unMenu can do this.

Also, you can do it from the command line. For example:

Mounting an external USB drive having an existing NTFS file system in READ/WRITE mode to transport files from/to unRaid server

If you want to share it also I think you have to create or edit smb-extra.conf

A new version of SNAP is available for V6b5a or greater.  There was a change in php at v5a that broke SNAP.  SNAP version 5.28 and above will be for V6 only.  SNAP for V5 will no longer be upgraded.

I just released a refresh of SNAP 5.28.  The plugin was modified to be compatible with the V6 plugin manager and the versioning scheme used in plugins.  Right now there seems to be a bug in the plugin system when updating plugins.  An updated plugin will not install on the next boot.  Tom is working on a fix for beta9.

Thank you for continuing development of this plugin. I have the your new version running on my v6.0 beta 8 testing server and it's working well. The drive I'm using it with is formatted as ReiserFS. I'm considering changing to one of the newly supported file systems, but for the time being I'm just going to leave it as is. I saw your notes about problems with LT's plugin manager updates.

Thanks again!

A new version of SNAP is available that has been modified to be in line with the V6 plugin manager.  The plugin manager is not updating properly so temporarily the best way to update is to remove SNAP and then re-install it with the plugin manager.  Your SNAP drive settings will be kept during this process.

I don't quite see how you use the "plugin manager" to install. On the Extensions/Plugins page all I see is a button to check for updates. Under Extensions there's a blank box to install...well, extensions. Is that supposed to be used the same for Plugins?

What am I missing?

APPEND: OK, I saw your post on APCUPSD and I get it. That's rather clunky and not very intuitive; but I guess that's what you've got to work with. Thanks!

Yes.  There is a line to enter the url of the plugin and to the right is the 'Install' button to perform the install.

so d ... are you able to set discard now for ext4 drives?  If so that would rawk! I could deprecate my extra-array drive mount post and get people out of the go file and smb-extra tweaking business..

SNAP does not currently work with ext4.

That makes me a saaaad Panda :(

I'm keeping SNAP going until this functionality can be built into unRAID.  It has been mentioned that SNAP functionality will end up being built into unRAID.  I don't have a lot of time to invest in improving SNAP at this time, especially if LT will be doing their own thing.  Queeg is the original developer of SNAP and has expressed an interest in keeping it going himself.

There is a new version of SNAP available.  I have been able to get the update working again from the SNAP page.  You'll have to remove any previous version of SNAP and install version 5.29.  The OP has instructions on how to remove snap and re-install it.

I think I have this working, but I'll need some help in testing it.

I remove/installed SNAP on my test system using the Plugin Manager and I checked updates and was there after reboot.

I notice there's a problem with the logo. On the "Settings" page SNAP's logo is a little terminal screen like those used on "Tools" page. On the "Extensions/Plugins" page SNAP's logo is the green puzzle piece used for plugins on the "Extensions" page.

I hope this helps! I'm glad to have it back!

It'll be fixed in the next release.

SNAP version 6.00 is available.  I have updated the version number to align with V6.  If there is a "Check for update" available on the bottom of the SNAP page, you can upgrade SNAP with that.  If not you will have to follow the OP and remove SNAP manually.  I was able to figure out how to update SNAP with the new plugin manager, so the update functionality on the SNAP page is restored.

The update on the plugin manager will update the plugin, but it will not update SNAP.  SNAP has to be updated from the SNAP page.

I have added r/w support for the following file systems:

- btrfs

- xfs

- ext4 with discard on

I have done some testing, but would appreciate someone checking ext4, especially with a SSD.

You RAWXOR man.  Once I get home and test it all I'll be linking from my post and depreciating it.

I checked the btrfs and xfs.  Let me know how it goes with ext4.

I have updated SNAP to v6.01.  Update SNAP through the SNAP webpage or remove SNAP and re-install the plugin through the plugin manager.

I've just released SNAP V6.02.  When SNAP was installed, the "Close" button never showed up to close the install plug window.  It works as it should now.

Just installed and converted from my manual method.  I had to change a few spots in my system from /mnt/appdisk to /mnt/disk/appdisk  Other than that it is working awesome.  My VM fired right up as expected and discard was turned on as desired.

Thanks for this dlandon.  I'll be linking to here from my how-to and deprecating it.
