Docker template for Home Assistant - Python 3 home automation

To answer my own question above I learned I can set global disk shares to yes in the settings and now I have share of my disks I can access over SMB. My docker containers are on the cache disk. I understand there is some risk of data loss this way. Any suggestions what specifically what to watch out for in this case, or is there a better way to approach this?

Thanks!

  • Would like to see this, I have hass.io running on a raspberry pi but a docker would be sweet.

  • Copy the files from the instructions into your home-assistant appdata folder e.g. appdata/home-assistant/www and then add the config elemenets to your config file.    If you're stuck I'd ask

  • Uploaded a short video on setting up the basics on Home Assistant with unRaid.  I did it from start to show people how to quickly setup unRaid so most of you here can skip that part.

Has anyone connected an Insteon PLM directly to their UR server through the Home-Assistant-Core docker?

I've been using Home Assistant since the debacle in 2022 where Insteon just went offline. Unfortunately, my old Insteon hub (2422) finally died last night so I started looking at alternatives which lead me to the most common Universal Devices EISY Smart Hub ($390) and the Insteon 2413U Dual Band USB PLM ($110) but then I saw a few posts about users connecting the PLM (with scant detail) directly to their UR server but they had issues getting the PLM to communicate with HA over its USB connection.

I don't need to tell you that I'd rather spend $110 than $500 if this is possible. Anyone out there know if this works and can maybe point me to some directions/information?

THANKS!
