[Support] Djoss - FileZilla

Featured Replies

I am currently using a Windows VM with FileZilla to backup my websites and the advantage of using Windows is that it does virus checking of the downloaded files.  I'd like to switch to this Docker, but I don't know how to get virus checking of the downloaded files.  Does it make sense to install a virus checker in the Docker?

I have caught a lot of viruses this way and have had to go back and deal with those on the hosted server.  I haven't seen any for months, so GoDaddy may be doing a better job of keeping the viruses off their servers, but I'd still like to scan for viruses myself.

EDIT: I installed this Docker and I just use my Windows 10 VM to scan the share for viruses.  Works fine.

  • Yes, I would use /config.

  • This docker is a FileZilla client.  It's the same as the FileZilla client in Windows only its packaged as a docker with a web/VNC GUI on your server.  You don't use one to connect to the other.

Ok I see.  Do you know any sftp server that you would like to use that is not available on unRAID?  I can look to create a docker container for it.
Thanks for the offer!

Frankly, I haven't a clue what would make for a "good" server software vs a "less good" one.

I'd relied very heavily on the knowledge and generosity of our great community. If someone tells me that the default ftp server in unRAID runs sftp just fine and is quite suitable, I'm more than happy to study up a bit and use that.

If someone knows of something better, I'll head that direction instead.

I'm just a biddy in high weeds most of the time...

Is there a way to expand the columns - FIlename, Filesize, etc?  I can't drag them as I would expect.

  • Author

Dragging column separators should work.  To change the order of the columns, you can right-click on them.

That doesn't seem to work for me.  I can't drag them.

Filezilla has a server version I've used in the past.

I don't think they have a native linux server compiled. I think it would require wine since they only offer the server for windows.

Working now, but very difficult to choose the place to drag.

Why?  Because the window is too small?

Not really.  Just a bit hard to find the spot with the mouse that allows the dragging.

Sure, you can adjust the display height and width in the container settings (under "Show more settings").

thank you so much i will try that when i get home.

That worked for me thank you again

Have you perhaps gone to a 32bit version of Filezilla?  I kept getting exec errors trying to install 'latest'.  Then tried v1.7.2 and it was the same.  v1.3.2 would start up but exit within 30 seconds.  v1.3.6 seems to work fine.

I've played around with creating some dockers myself, and the one that always killed me was anything to do with wine.  Because unraid doesn't have 32 bit kernel support, any dockers that use 32bit binaries fail, and it's nigh impossible to create wine with nothing 32bit.  I saw similar errors as with your 1.7.X, that's why I ask.

  • Author

This container is not using Wine.  It is using the native Linux version (64bit).

I guess your are talking about the Filezilla server, which is available only for Windows.

By the way, 32bit support has been added to unRAID (since 6.4).

Getting errors all of a sudden.  I've tried reinstalling, removing entirely, removing appdata folder. Not really sure what the error message is referring to. Just takes me to a blank screen with the Filezilla logo and a red x in the top left corner.

Have you tried the x11vnc '-ncache' VNC client-side pixel caching feature yet?

The scheme stores pixel data offscreen on the VNC viewer side for faster
retrieval. It should work with any VNC viewer. Try it by running:

x11vnc -ncache 10 ...

One can also add -ncache_cr for smooth 'copyrect' window motion.

Can you try to clear your browser's cache?

No go, ctrl-f5 and cleared cache in settings in FF.

Does work in Chrome though, so probably more of a FF/me issue. Thanks.

Does anyone have a letsencrypt subdomain.conf file for this container?  My version is coming up with bad gateway,  I am still learning proxies :(

Thanks

Stupid question, but blundering about learning docker:

Whereabouts would be best place to store a SSH key? in /config?

Yes, I would use /config.
