Stream Arcanine
Hi there, After reinstalling windows on my gaming computer, i wanted to connect to my unraid server to transfer some files. I noticed my user didnt want to login. I went to the web UI and logged in as 'root'. I deleted my user and created a new one. Clicked 'reboot' and nothing ever came back online. I tried plugging into my other ethernet port (i have 2 on my mother board (old ip camera server board)). Still nothing. I had a VM running Hass.io on the server. I tried finding the IP adress of my machine without results. I tried pluging my usb key to another port, still no succes. I rebooted even in Safe mode and i cant log in. I tried going to unraid local UI. The linux instance boots up but localhost display a page error on the machine itself. I realy have no clue whats going on. There it is. I know just a tiny bit of linux but not enought to decript all this. At the same time. I would like to set a static IP in the futur. Maybe my usb key has some file corrupted? I dunno. Thanks in advance for your help! Mikael syslog Edited October 3, 2019 by Stream Arcanine Added syslog file Quote Link to comment
trurl
Put flash in PC and checkdisk. While there make a backup. Try again. Make sure to use a USB2 port. Quote Link to comment

trurl
Can you boot in nonGUI mode and get to the command line? Quote Link to comment

trurl
Enter diagnostics at the command line and see if it will write the diagnostics to the flash drive so you can post them. Quote Link to comment
Stream Arcanine
I think this guy is having the same issue as me. it doesnt see the NIC im using. I get no Ipv4 adresses. I do have a stratech network car i could pop in. I will also try setting a manual IP adresse. I've also already posted a diagnostic file in my first post. unless i did it incorrectly. You posted a syslog. That is only a small part of the complete diagnostics. Sometimes the least important or informative part. Quote Link to comment

I suggest you delete it from the flash drive and let it be re-created on a reboot. Assuming you set the gateway IP address in the prior config, why is it on 14.0.1.x when the server is on 10.0.1.x? I couldn't find a folder on the usb drive with the name 'config'. There was a file with that name tho it looks corrupted. Is there suposed to be a folder there with configuration files? Yes, you should have a config folder on your flash drive that looks something like this (I have some stuff I need to cleanup): Do you have a backup of your flash drive? Quote Link to comment
Stream Arcanine
No i don't. I realised also the GUI wasnt showing up on a web page. I created a new usb boot drive and compared the missing files. I got everything back online except my key file which got corrupted... My drives are showing up but i cant see my shares until my key file is restored I tried reinstalling the key file using the url i got in my invoice email when i purchased. It gives me an error Quote Link to comment
Stream Arcanine
Alright never mind. I actually got the file from the link, installed it in the config folder and booted my machine. Everything looks good so far. Will do some verification just to make sure everything is ok Quote Link to comment
itimpi
It is worth pointing out that you can easily make a backup of the flash drive by clicking on it in the Main tab. It is good practise to do this any time you make a significant configuration changes as it makes recovering from any issues with the USB drive much simpler. Quote Link to comment
Stream Arcanine
Alright everything is working, file wise but my linux vm running Hass.io doesn't work. I see the vm start but i don't see my VM on my network Also, my cache drive is completely filled up. Stream Arcanine
Is it possible to do a fresh usb install and just drag and drop the array drive configurations? If so, which file is resposible for the array config? Im realy worried having some more corrupted files i dont see. I could be a good oportunity to upgrade the unraid version aswell Quote Link to comment

Supa
Having a similar problem. UnRaid / My motherboard can't grab a DCHP or Static IP address. It has internet though. I ran diagnostics but I don't see the log on the flash drive? /boot/logs/tower-.... .zip *fixed it* Was a bad flash drive. Edited December 17, 2019 by Supa Quote Link to comment
