is UD somehow doing something with the encrypted UD that touches /root/keyfile in some way?

UD does not do anything with the /root/keyfile in any way except to read it when it needs to mount an encrypted disk.  There is an ontion in Unraid to delete that file after the array is started.  Check to see if that is enabled.

You could also set the password for the disk in UD Settings.

Added diagnostics. But these drives didn't cause any problems for me so you don't have to check it. Of course unless you want to improve plugin

I was looking for some command time outs and I found several.  These help me understand where there are delays in UD that potentially cause slow response.

Hi, I am running 6.8.3 and want to passthrough a whole ssd to a vm.

Before I proceed acording spaceinvader´s video, I want to make sure the precedure is:

-enable the option PASS THRU in UD?

-then put this line in my vm xml: /dev/disk/by-id/ata-TOSHIBA-TL100_X6PYTUYTUKEU

It´s a while since I don´t have a look a UD and can´t remember if this option was already there long ago. But yesterday I noticed that after I enabled pass thru in UD I loose the option to mount the disk in UD. I guess this is what is intended to pass through ths disk properly.

Hope someone can confirm this to me.

Thx in advance.

Setting 'Pass Thru' in UD is not a requirement.  It is best to set it though so UD will not be able to mount the disk.  Passing through a disk and mounting it with UD will cause corruption.

I am getting kernel: CIFS VFS: Close unmatched open errors in my log on one of my servers when the server is mapping an SMB share to another UNRaid server via the Unassigned Devices Plug-in does anyone know what might be causing this or if it is a problem?

I am thinking it might be something wrong the the other server and this has now locked up a couple of times but not sure if the above errors from the other server are causing it or a symptom on a problem I have on the source server so any insight appreciated

Could you please center the Mount and Unmount text on the button? Unmounting and Mounting is also not centered.

They are uncentered again. Could you please fix it again?

They are centered again. Thank you very much!

It is not the network dropping off that is another error that happened a while ago, I am looking more at what is causing the kernel: CIFS VFS: Close unmatched open errors I am getting constantly at the moment, any ideas?

Are you using Jumbo frames?

Decided to add an old SSD to my UD's to use as a Plex appdata drive for the metadata.  Precleared it.  Formatted it xfs but when it finished there is no filesystem on it and Mount is greyed out.  What am I doing wrong?

image.thumb.png.afd4b2cb7fcac5d1137a930297a9e8a5.png

When trying different things I try to remove the plex_appdata partition just to start fresh but I get a "Fail" message as a result.

My UA Settings for good measure:

This is in the log:

Jun 10 17:44:43 Snuts unassigned.devices: Removing partition '1' from disk '/dev/sdm'.
Jun 10 17:44:44 Snuts unassigned.devices: Remove parition failed result 'Error: Partition(s) 1 on /dev/sdm have been written, but we have been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. You should reboot now before making further changes. '

Not sure why this is happening.

Hello,

I have been using UD often lately as I am cleaning up my disks. Recently I have been able to mount disks, and not unmout them. When they are mounted, the unmount button via the GUI is grayed out and cannot be selected.
If i power off the drive, the drive becomes mountable and 'mount' is selectable. However unmount remains grayed out

Has anyone ran into this concern before?
I cannot pull any logs as the drive is mounted and there is no ability to unmount it, seems strange?
Is there a manual method I can use to unmount via SSH?

Don't pull the plug on a mounted disk!  It does not unmount the disk and leaves it in an error state.  You will need to restart the server to clear this up and please don't do it again.

Provide a complete screen shot after clicking on the '+' icon.  There are several reasons for the 'Unmount' to be grayed out.  I can't tell which issue is affecting you until I can see a complete screen shot.

I suspect the drive was not mounted by UD and is not mounted at /mnt/disks/, or you unplugging the disk has caused this problem.

Click on the 'Help' button on the UD page, scroll down and you will see how to use the rc.unassigned script to unmount the drive.

I have restarted the server and I can try again later on.
Never has been an issue before, started to do it on this disk today however.
Mount log:

You have it marked as 'Pass Thru'.  You cannot mount or unmount a disk passed through.  Did you mount the disk with UD, then set it as 'Pass Thru'?

Post diagnostics.

Pass Thru is disabled, never toggled it.
Been using UD as I always have. Mount, copy, unmount.

Sorry, I read the pass through switch setting wrong.

I see the first partition as unmounted, but it looks like there is a second partition that is mounted.  Please show all the partitions on the disk.

No problemo.

I performed another reboot and attempted to mount and unmount the disk.

Unmount is grayed out.

I wonder if it is a partition issue with the disk

This disk is a swap disk while i organize data I can always format it when I am done, perhaps that's why it's having a concern.
