  1. its only detecting a sensor shown as unknown device and core temp both of which dont really help me here. Ive seen many others have the same issue with a driver that is missing for this it8686 chip but so far i didnt find any functional solution yet.
  2. is there anything i can do on my side when the auto fan plugin doesnt detect any PWM controllers? I know the system has one as every fan header supports PWM and each header can be controlled individually in the BIOS but this plugin doesnt see any sadly.

another few things to consider, you are buying a pretty expensive case that is basically a normal case you could have much cheaper ones than this, same for the motherboard. If you are fine with an expensive case but want something more compact consider the Silverstone 381. Its a good case but pretty expensive given that you probably also wanna swap out the fans. Heres my build, i already had all the drives so it doesnt show a price for them. The DS3H motherboard is one of the few that has two full m.2 4x slots and only disables one of the 6 SATA ports if you use it. But keep in mind both 4x slots go through the same 4x link from the chipset to the CPU so you will never get full performance from both at the same time. The cheaper motherboard saves a ton of cost and since the 10100 is hard limited to 2666mhz RAM you can also save a ton there. as someone who has an Unraid NAS with an i3 10100 i can say its plenty fast for the job and does everything i need without any issues. One very important little detail i just learned is if you want to use NVME SSD´s as a cache i strongly advise you to get an HBA to attach your normal drives to. On all current Intel platforms the NVME slots go through the chipset to the CPU and the chipset is only attached with a PCI-E 3.0 4x link si thats a HUGE bottleneck. Attaching all my drives to an HBA doubled my transfer speeds from the NVM cache to the array.
  5. i have just done the switch to the Intel HBA and it did indeed just work out of the box without any issues, if anyone is still maintaining the hardware compatibility wiki the J variant could be added there. Also this HBA doubled my write speeds when going from my cache to the array which proves my suspicion that this was another case of Intels bandwidth bottleneck to the chipset as on the H470 chipset they attached two m.2 4x slots and 5 SATA ports as well as all USB and network controllers via a single PCI-E 3.0 4x link to the CPU. Now that all my drives are attached via different PCI-E lanes this link from the Chipset is clear to be used basically only by my NVME SSD´s making everything much faster.
  6. according to intel the RS3UC080 is the version that defaults to RAID while the J version defaults to JBOD unless you flash a RAID firmware. The product page for the J version also says RAID Support: None https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/servers/raid/storage-controllers/rs3uc080j.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022720/server-products/raid-products.html So that means i should expect it to work just like a plain HBA?
  7. Hello People, all my drives are currently connected to the SATA ports on my motherboard but i just got an HBA from ebay to be exact i got an Intel RS3UC080J Which comes in JBOD mode by default. Is there anything i need to do before switching over to this HBA or can i just put everything together and swap the cables to the HBA and everything should be working as expected?
  8. yes im running some stuff on the NAS that directly downloads to it. Im still going this from the time when my internet was slow and downloads took a long time, now that my internet is super fast i dont technically need to do that anymore but its pretty convenient. Cache drives are used a read cache if you set the share to cache only or prefer but it really depends on which what data you put on the drives if it will make any difference for you.
  9. full disclosure im not really an Unraid pro as im only using it for a month now but my experience with SSD cache so far has been that i feel like my 250GB cache was not always enough for my needs. Personally i got 2 250GB NVME SSD´s, one is for Appdata and basically everything that is constantly running and this seems fine so far in terms of space. The other one is used for some shares that i liked to have cached one of which is my download share because unpacking archives is just so much faster if it happens on an SSD. The one for downloads is getting full quite often and im already looking into getting another SSD with 500GB or 1TB so i can cache some other shares as well. In your situation i would think about what you gonna use the cache for, if you never download like 100GB in a day and wanna have this cached you will probably be fine with the smaller drives but as usual once you get the hang of it demand increases.
  10. i dont really see that anything is running very hot here, these drives are rated for over 60°C operating temperature and just as most WD drives they are running relatively cool. my Seagate Ironwolf drives are idling at 44°C with good airflow and go up to 60°C during a rebuild.
  11. Hello People. i currently have the use SSL setting on auto which means whenever i navigate to my servers ip address i get redirected to some blbla.unraid.net address. This works fine on my computer but from my phone that is in the same network via wifi it fails to load the page. on the other hand when i set this to no i can connect via my ip on the mobile phone and login without any problems while on my PC the page loads but when i log in nothing happens i just stay on the login page. So currently either of these solutions has a problem but im sure there must be one that simply works? Also how would i go about using an SSL certificate created by the SWAG docker container instead if that is possible?
  12. perfect, just found if i take the RS3UC080J it will already be in IT mode, lets see if i can get it for cheap on ebay.
  13. and do you know if an HBA with the linked chip would be compatible with unraid? The wiki doesnt list it but i guess thats probably because it used to be super expensive so nobody bought it?
  14. Hello People, im currently looking for an HBA to use for my NAS, im not in any hurry to get it so i am primarily looking on ebay to find a deal on a used one. Now i found multiple HBA´s that support SAS 12G and SATA 6G but i cant find any details if that means i can only use one or the other or if i can mix them as i like. Lets say i get an HBA with this chip https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/76066/intel-raid-controller-rs3uc080.html I would connect it via the SFF8643 ports to the backplanes of my case which also have SFF8643 ports. The backplane also supports 12G SAS and 6G SATA so am i right to assume that it should be no problem at all to mix between SAS and SATA drives on the same backplane? beside if its technically possible is there anything i should expect in terms of problems when i do this, would it make more sense to stick to SATA only or to have one backplane that only uses SATA drives and the other one with SAS drives? does any of this matter at all?
  15. yea none of these are properly maintained sadly but on the bright side that means you could have the one up to date and functional space engineers docker container.
  16. these are the 4 i was looking at before. https://github.com/Yohan460/SpaceEngineers-Server https://github.com/yamlCase/docker-space-engineers https://github.com/Linux74656/SpaceEngineersLinuxPatches/blob/master/README.md https://github.com/Lazalatin/space-engineers-dedicated-ubuntu-docker-server
  17. i have never tested the containers i found so i cant really tell if they are any good, i just thought the existence of them seem to indicate that it could work but now that you say that one of them says the performance sucks. Ill probably run the original files in a Window VM instead to avoid any problems.
  18. Hi there, really impressive repository you got there, do you see any chance to add a game server for Space Engineers? Ive seen some linux based docker containers for that but none in community applications so far.
  19. yes but that didnt change anything sadly. The container seems to have no problems with this folders its just that my own user is not allowed to write to them. Edit: i think i have solved this now. i created the folders manually with my own user before starting the container so now my own user is allowed to write to them and the container is as well. previously the folders were created by the container itself and that didnt work out too well.
  20. im running into the problem that i dont seem to have any write permissions in the /watch folder so i sadly can not test if my AMC script is working as intended. Also i had a strange thing happen when i used the GUI to change some names. I set it up to sort the files into some folders and when it ran this on a different share which does not have this folder structure yet it did create it but on a share level. So i have a share for TV Series which cache disabled and a downloads share that is cache only, when i ran my renaming i suddenly had the TV series structure on my cache drive and had to set it to cache yes and run mover to have the files moved of the drive. I guess this is something with my settings but if i could get the AMC to run and have permissions on this folder this should be no problem. So the important question why do i have no permissions on the/watch folder and how do i fix that?
  21. well if that is the case there still seems to be something wrong with my setup. i got hardware transcoding up and running and i can see the iGPU doing its work but when i play a 4K HDR movie via the PLEX app on my Android TV it just instantly throws an error without any meaning full message and doesnt even try to transcode anything. Same thing happened in the plex app on my 4k none HDR TV Any idea if this is still related to hardware transcoding or usually something else?
  22. @mmz06 does this open CL container have any benefits in terms of functionality like 4k HDR transcoding or is the main purpose to not need the script above anymore?
  23. just upgraded my server to RC1 and now it doesnt boot anymore for some reason. it also doesnt seem to even connect to my network anymore, it would get a static IP assigned by my router but its not showing up at all. EDIT: just swapped the LAN cable over to another port, it seems like its not detecting my 10G NIC anymore, i can get into the interface with the onboard port. EDIT2: had to manually set my 10G NIC as eth0 again so it was used as the primary, now everything seems fine for now.
  24. @mmz06 how long did the reboot after updating take for you? im waiting for like 5 minutes now for it to reboot and i fear its stuck booting for some reason now. ignore that i figured it out, it was booting fine but it used the onboard NIC as the primary so i couldnt connect to it. finally got everything up and running again and ran your script again, this time with the expected result and i can also see the iGPU going to work when i run a video. So your script is the solution but requires the latest RC to work, do i need to do anything after a reboot or should all changes be permanent?
  25. @mmz06 the dev/dri directory doesnt exist for me sadly, thats another thing i can figure out why. Currently im running the latest stable release, does all of this only work on the latest beta? can i also use the latest RC release that just came out?
