I 1st observed this while moving some data around on one of my disks. - 4 disk array (1x parity, 3x data). I observe this behaviour on the drive with zfs file system. Running the following command I moved multiple copies of a Windows10.iso file one folder up. I can see that RAM is filling up: Unraid GUI only shows read activity on the disk3 and NO writes. Unitl I get this: The moved files are lost! 3 out of 5 files were moved and nothing can be found in the target folder. And Unraid UI is crashing due to lack of free RAM. Any ideas? I know that zfs is using RAM to buffer file transfer, but this does not make any sense. I lost an unknown number of files due to this issue... Luckily, I just moved between servers and the old one still holds a copy ....

Klar ist umgestellt, bin auch auf das neue V14 Bios hoch, hat aber auch nicht geholfen. Habe gerade ehr das Gefühl, dass die Karte einen Defekt hat. Ein ganz einfacher PCIe-X zu m.2 Adapterkarte funktioniert.

Hi, hattest du die Karte mal getestet? Wollte die Tage in meinem D3633-S12 testen, hier bekomme ich Sie jedoch nicht zum Laufen. Bin mir aber sicher, das es bei einem Test im Dezember noch ging. Habe mir da aber leider weiter keine Notizen gemacht.

My Gigabyte C246M-WU4 currently draws ~14W in IDLE with 4 SATA drived spun down. I saw in posts from @mgutt, that the E3C246D2I has an higher power demand, but that much more...

@HoopsterThanks for the quick reply. I'm asking for the E3C246D2I - bifrucation would be very interesting here to install m.2 NVME with a decent speed. The 16x is directly connected to CPU and could provide full bandwith to NVME cards. https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005004847905570.html I go one of these cards and could confirm function in a x8/x4/x4 bifrucation x16. I had issues with this on my Gigabyte C246M-WU4 and would like to move to a smaller form factor housing.

@Hoopster I'm also looking into that board. Can you provide any power measuremets in IDLE? IPMI is supposed to eat up some extra power from what I heard. Can you confirm 8x/4x/4x bifurcation on the 16x slot? Thanks a lot!

Not sure if it is the best idea to pick up on this old thread, but I have the exact same question. Controlling the fans just by HDD temp does not fit my use case at all. WOuld also aim for for CPU/MB temp @UNRA1DUser Did you find a solution?

Ich habe bei mir jetzt das bequit! PURE Power 11 FM 550W dran. Ich sehe auch mal 13/14Watt - also 2 Watt mehr als mit PicoPSU. Es treten aber deutlich mehr und höher Spitzen auf - 16/17/22 Watt sind die Regel. Das war mit mit der PicoPSU dran so nicht aufgefallen. Werde mir das noch über die Feiertage etwas genauer anschauen, sonst halt nochmal umbauen

Habe auf 120W PicoPSU PSU umgestellt. Läuft soweit gut [emoji6]

Sollte reichen. Bin bei einem fast identischen Setup aktuell auch noch bei 32GB. Eventuell werde ich schwach, wenn der 2te Riegel auf 100€ rutscht [emoji6]. Fehlt ja nicht mehr viel. Mit PicoPSU liege ich übrigens bei 12 Watt.

Irgendwo ist mir mal eine Auflistung verschiedener MB vor die Nase gekommen - auch von @mgutt? - Da waren welche bei die auch einige W zusätzlich verbraucht haben. Ein paar W mehr Idle beim i9-9900K und dann auch noch einige beim MB - daraus könnte sich dann schon was ergeben. Ich steige gerade auf ein be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM 550W um. Welche PicoPSU willst du denn einsetzen? Bei einem TPD 95W wird es ja schnell eng Die 120W gibt es hier günstig - selber 3x im Einsatz: https://www.ebay.de/itm/402297330002 Für einen Test wohl ausreichend, Dauertbetrieb könnte eng werden.
