Hello Tailscale team Im attempting to configure remote access via VPN with Tailscle to my Unraid server. I have followed this guide perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=tailscale+unraid, including adding the code:| and UP_FLAGS field Connected on Tailscale The result: 1. Is there any possibility I have limitations from the ISP? When I requested port forwarding from the ISP (for wiregaurd), they told me it would not be forwarded as an external IP and I would have to pay for a different service for that. This most likely is now irrelvant as Tailscale bypasses the need for port forwarding. But the situation makes me wonder could they limit external access somehow? SOLVED I swapped the HBA to the 8x pcie from the 4x, although it opperates at 4x, so I'm not 100% sure that was the issue, and maybe a restart did it good. Before: Now:

Hey team I've recently built my first server. Usage: mass media storage, direct file editing for apps like photoshop & premiere pro, and a 'google drive' like storage cloud. I have an hba card and 10GB NIC So originally I was interested with Unraid due to the ease of expanding drives, general ease of use. But I then went in the TrueNAS direction as I was told it would be faster for my editing puposes. I have been attempting to set up my Truenas server for remote acesss with Nextcloud, VPN with Wireguard. But man is it difficult, there are not really any straight forward guides, especially for noobs. It is really fkn complicated. So now im second guessing this decision and would like to move back to the Unraid idea. As I see there is a google drive plugin, and from the looks of things Unraid is much easier to set up. Questions: 1. Now that Unraid has ZFS would it still be slower than Truenas? Is directing file editing possible even from NVME? 2. How straight forward is it to remote access? Do you need DDNS, cloudfare DNS, port forwarding, domain name, certificates, etc etc?(like Trunas does) 3. With google drive plugin, do you actually get your own server space in the same google drive / workspace? So lets say i have 30GB on my workspace drive and 40TB on my server, now I have 40.03TB? 4. Additionally what other pros / cons should I consider? TIA

NOOB to servers / NAS's here I have all the hardware to build this PC server except the drives, so what is the best setup I can do with (approx) 8TB drives? 8TB seems to be the best size for price per TB (in my location anyway) Server use: video / photo media storage with frequesnt use from video editiors and PC's backup 1. Im looking at the Toshiba N300, is a NAS drive recommended or not relevant? 2. Is there any place a X300 (desktop drive) for its performance benifits? 3. What is the ideal size parity drive? Should this drive be bigger or smaller or just the same as the main drives? 4. Whjat is the best drive type for the parity drive? im not including any questions about NVME, as this will be handled by a 1TB NVME for cache TIA
